I travel extensively for pleasure and when I do so, I ALWAYS look for a property that provides me / us with the following: 1) a great centralized location within walking distance to historic sights, restaurants, shops, etc. 2) good value for my dollar 3) free parking, if at all possible, unless in a major city of course 4) aesthetically pleasing in appearance, clean, quiet and safe.
The Grand Hotel met and exceeded all of my expectations. It was all of the above and more. It certainly is not the Ritz, but the Ritz IS NOT what I wanted or was searching for in Natchez or when I travel. I LOVE this level of comfort in my accommodations when I am casually traveling. Very elegant, quiet, clean, safe, great location, free breakfast (a little more than just your average continental breakfast, which was nice), easy parking and courteous friendly staff. Not too stuffy, but very dignified at the same time. I really enjoyed the wonderful view from my large 4th floor river-facing room. as well.
