First, the good. The room was right on the ocean, and it felt like I could throw a ball in from my balcony. The room was clean, and the check-in was smooth. There was very limited housekeeping, which was fine, but we had to stop at the office several times for TP, coffee, and other supplies.
Now, the not so good. The room was very basic for the price. It took ten minutes for warm water to run in the sink, and about as long in the shower. The room did not have a desk, so I had to work on the small table provided. There was no way to control the temperature in our room, so it was a constant 67-68 degrees, with a significant draft coming in from the balcony. There were no chairs in the room except the two very hard chairs at the dining table. The beds had only a sheet and a very thin blanket. We froze our tails off the first night, then went to Target and bought a couple of blankets. I tried to open the window to see what kind of breeze we would have, and as I opened it, the top part of the window fell down fast and caught my fingertips between the two windows. It was very painful.
We came to Nags Head to avoid the storm in our area, which was expected to experience widespread outages. The room, with a kitchenette, met our basic needs, but it certainly did not feel worth the discounted price we paid. I would not stay here again, because there are many better deals at nearby hotels with many more amenities. We were expecting a 3.5-star hotel, but we got a 2-star instead.
