Welcome to Palmettos & Sunshine — a guest-favorite, 3,600 SF oceanfront beach house in Garden City Beach, thoughtfully designed by renowned architect G.M. (Skip) Wallace, Jr. The homeowners continually enhance this coastal retreat with new features and thoughtful updates, creating a stay guests return to year after year.

Wake up to panoramic Atlantic Ocean views, sip coffee on expansive covered oceanfront porches, and unwind as the sun sets over your private pool, wading pool, and complimentary hot tub. Inside, the bright open-concept layout offers two spacious living areas, a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, and plenty of room for families and groups to relax, cook, and gather comfortably.

With an elevator, fenced yard, pet-friendly accommodations, and seamless indoor-outdoor living, Palmettos & Sunshine delivers the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and laid-back coastal charm—making it one of Garden City Beach’s most loved oceanfront vacation homes.

PRIVATE POOL (10 x 20) and WADING POOL (10 x 10)
Open year-round. Pool heating is available in spring and fall (Apr 1–May 31, Sept 1–Oct 31) for an additional $350 + tax per week. Heating is only effective when temperatures—day and night—are forecasted to be above 60°F. We recommend checking the forecast closer to your stay (but at least 5 days prior) before adding heat.

My family with small children were with us . The kids love the pool, beach and the closed in back yard. We wish the grill was gas instead of charcoal. We have stayed here two years in a row and love the improvements and the vesco board on the wall in the kitchen. The hot tub also a hit with my family that the pool and hot tub salt water and not chemicals. Thank you for sharing your place with us!

We absolutely loved our stay at Palmettos and Sunshine! Everything was truly perfect from start to finish. The property itself is beautiful and so well cared for, and the staff went above and beyond—always attentive, quick to answer our calls, and genuinely helpful with any questions we had.The highlight of our trip was nothing short of magical: a turtle nest hatched right outside our front door! We even had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of helping rescue a baby turtle that was struggling to make its way out. It’s something we’ll never forget, and it made our stay even more special.Between the wonderful accommodations, the attentive service, and that unforgettable experience, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We would 100% return to this property again and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach!

This was our 2nd stay at this property and we once again had a wonderful family vacation here! The owner and property management were very accommodating and helpful with everything from start to finish. I am beyond thrilled to have found this beautiful property that we have been able to bring our aging pups to with us!! It is so hard to find a lovely home that checks all the boxes for us (on the beach, private pool, fenced in yard with some grass for the pups to play, and is well taken care of!), and this one checks them all! The communication from property management was excellent, the property was clean, and even had several upgrades since we stayed last year, so it’s clear that the owner takes pride in the property and is willing to listen to any feedback or suggestions we had previously. Property management checked in with us via phone call at the start of our trip and then sent a PM to check on us as a follow up to the one issue we had with the beach setup to make sure we were happy, which was very much appreciated. We also booked 2 private chefs and a fishing trip while we were there, all of which were recommended by property management and all of them were amazing!! It was another fabulous beach trip with our family this year and we hope to be able to stay here again next year!! Highly recommended!!

Great house

We stayed Mother’s Day week. 2nd stay in this beach house. Our main group was 7 adults with some friends dropping in for overnights during the week. We also had our dogs. This is a great house. Very clean, functional and well stocked with everything we needed. We noticed renovations and upgrades since our last stay, they were all well done and added to the experience. We will rent this beach house again. Owners and rental agency were very responsive. Usually within minutes. Thanks for making your home available.

Great vaca

The house was great! Lots of room and privacy when needed. Had issue with one door not locking, ice maker in cabinet did not make ice and the filter in fridge needed changed so no filtered water! All in all a great vacation for our family! We loved the location, the pool and the kitchen was very well equipped! Elevator was a nice touch to, especially loading and unloading car!

Wonderful House, great location

Beautiful house and property, we were grateful for the dog friendly fenced in yard, pool, turf and hot tub a hit with our older children and we loved being steps from the beach. Maintenance manager and property manager were great. Beds very comfortable, great views!

Annual family vacation.. first time in Garden City!! Loved the locations d the outside features fit our family incredibly well!!! The inside has a great layout, but as I said when I first entered .. just a great atmosphere.. but needs a little love and care.. lots of fabrics and rugs.. very worn.. photos were not a good representation of what we found.. but we had a great time and would return if we could book a week prior to this year in July.. Thanks for the memories!!

Below Expectations

The property is in a wonderful location. I'm sure at one point, the inside of the house was lovely, but it's run down and needs attention (walls/baseboards are dirty, need paint, furniture and carpet need deep cleaning, some bathrooms need updating). The code that was given to us to enter the home didn't work when we got there. The issue was solved by the management and we later found out it was something to do with batteries not working in the lock. Also, one of the bedrooms did not have sheets - this was mentioned to the management company the first time we got hold of them, and they never offered to bring some (so I bought a blanket at target). There was a foldable mattress/bed in a closet that smelled like urine which made that closet unusable. We were there over New Years and so we had issues getting a response from the property manager. The pool was not heated (which we knew in advance) but that detracted from the experience (meanwhile, property next door had a heated pool and they seemed to be having a great time). They had a new hot tub which we were charged extra to use. It was a nice and very clean. The homeowner reduced the price because we decided to use it on the third day, but then it took another 24hrs for it to be warm enough to use (so basically, we paid for the time it took to warm it up and got 2 days use out of it). Overall, I was very disappointed with our stay because there were issues which weren't resolved. Expected more for the money.

Great location but disappointing experience

I thought the house delivered on charm, location and amenities. Where the experience failed was a result of door issues, cleanliness, staff response, etc. I would really like to speak with the owner to make sure they know that the property is not well maintained and the response from Bask Away is not acceptable. I expected much better for the cost of this rental. All items could have been addressed had Bask Away followed up. Very disappointed as this is a great location with much potential. I hope the owner reaches out for a conversation.

Family Vacation

For late May it was cooler than we expected, but you can't control the weather. We enjoyed walks on the beach, building sandcastles, and jumping in the heated pool! The pups loved the grass area and fenced yard. Would definitely recommend Palmettos & Sunshine!

Just what the doctor ordered

This place is all about beauty and relaxation. The views are awe inspiring, the beach is expansive and made for long morning walks. The kitchen was very well appointed, there wasn’t a dish, pot, or utensil lacking. The owners thought of everything. The backyard was fantastic and the safety of being fenced in was peace of mind when travelling with our pooch. We spent more time in that backyard than the beach! There are also games and books throughout the house, but not enough time even after a full week stay. The location of the home offers a perfect balance of a quiet neighborhood and close proximity to restaurants and where all the action is at in Murrell’s Inlet. Awesome property, we were sad to leave.
