Picture this: eighteen of your favorite people, a private heated pool out back, cold drinks under the palapa, and the Atlantic Ocean just across the street. No splitting up. No compromising on space. Just one big, beautiful second-row beach house in Murrells Inlet — and every single memory made under the same roof. That is what The Bumm'Inn is built for.
THE SPACE
The Bumm'Inn is a three-story, second-row home with six bedrooms, six and a half baths, and enough room for 18 guests to spread out without stepping on each other — until you all end up poolside together anyway.
On the main floor, BR1 has two queens and its own ensuite — perfect for guests who want easy pool access or prefer to skip the stairs. Head up to the second floor and you have three more bedrooms: BR2 (two queens, ensuite), BR3 (king, ensuite), and BR4 (queen, ensuite). The third floor is where the views open up — BR5 has two queens with a bath just outside of the door, and BR6 is the crown jewel: a king bedroom with a large ensuite and a private balcony where mornings with coffee hit differently.
Outside is where the days actually happen. The private heated pool is the anchor of the backyard, with a shallow area that's perfect for the little ones. The palapa is shaded, social, and stocked for long afternoons. When the group wants to compete, there are arcade games and a game console waiting inside.
We have stocked the home with the beach essentials — because hauling gear for 18 people is no one's idea of a vacation start.
A full day here looks like: late breakfast, pool, pier, dinner somewhere on the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, back to the palapa for the night. Repeat until checkout feels criminal.
GUEST ACCESS
The entire home is yours — all three floors, every outdoor space, the heated pool, the palapa, and the carport. The only locked area is the owners' closet, which stays off limits.
Check-in is seamless via smart lock — your code arrives before arrival, so there is no key exchange, no waiting around, and no coordinating 18 people at a front desk. Just pull up, punch in, and start your trip.
LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY
Garden City Beach is one of the last genuinely laid-back stretches of the Grand Strand — less developed than Myrtle Beach, more local, more beach, more of the South Carolina coast that people actually love. The Bumm'Inn sits second-row, meaning public beach access is directly across the street. You are not hiking a half mile to the water. You are crossing the road.
Half a mile down the strip is the Garden City Pier — fishing, people-watching, and the kind of casual beach afternoon that does not require a plan. A short drive puts you on the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, the best concentration of fresh seafood restaurants in the area. Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park, and Pawleys Island are all within 20 minutes for day trip variety.
Grocery stores, beach shops, and casual dining are five minutes away. Everything the group needs for a week is within easy reach without any of the traffic that plagues the northern end of the Grand Strand.
THINGS TO KNOW
The Bumm'Inn is set up for big groups — here is what makes arrival smooth:
Parking is available on site in the carport and driveway, which handles multiple vehicles comfortably.
Beach essentials are provided, so there is no need to rent or haul chairs and gear for the whole crew.
The home sleeps 18 across 6 bedrooms.
Check-in is self-guided via smart lock. A rental agreement through OwnerRez is required and sent before your stay — budget about five minutes to complete it.
All bookings must be made by a guest 25 or older who will be staying on property for the duration of the trip.
GETTING AROUND
A car — or a couple of cars — is the way to go. Garden City Beach is a classic drive-to destination, and having your own vehicle means freedom to run grocery runs, hit Murrells Inlet for dinner, or explore the broader Grand Strand on your schedule.
From The Bumm'Inn: Garden City Pier is under a mile. The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is about 10 minutes. Myrtle Beach Airport is roughly 25 minutes north. Huntington Beach State Park is 15 minutes south.
Rideshare is available in the area but limited compared to a city — plan on driving for anything more than a short hop.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
A few things to have on your radar before you book:
The heated pool is a year-round amenity, though heating effectiveness is temperature-dependent (outdoor temp must be warmer than 55*, wind and rain play a factor also) — reach out if you are visiting in the off-season and we will give you an honest read on conditions.
The property is non-smoking indoors and, on all decks, ($500 fee applies). Designated smoking is permitted in the carport area only.
This is a third-party-booking-free zone — the person who books must be 25+ and staying on property. No exceptions, no workarounds.
Two exterior cameras are mounted in the carport for security. No interior cameras anywhere.
No golf chipping on the property, please — the turf and neighbors both appreciate it.
A firm cancellation policy applies. Read it before you book and reach out with any questions — we would rather have the conversation upfront than anyone be surprised later.
Four-plus years of Superhost status and a 4.98-star average across 57 reviews means we take hosting seriously. We want The Bumm'Inn to be the trip your group talks about for years.
