As the sun sets, have a seat in our Adirondack chairs around the fire pit for s'mores or just good conversation with friends and family.

Enjoy reading or relaxing on the back porch where there are two rocking chairs and complete privacy.

There are so many fun things to do:
*Bryce Resort is less than .5 miles away where you can: ski, tube, Ice skate, hike, enjoy Lake Laura (Paddleboats, Kayaks, Canoes), Mountain Bike, hike, or Golf.
*Wineries nearby include: Cave Ridge Vineyard, The Winery at Kindred Point, Wolf Gap Vineyard, and Muse just to name a few.
*Breweries nearby include: Pale Fire, Swover Creek Brewery, Ridge Runner Farms, and Woodstock Brew House
*Shenandoah National Park is a great day day trip as the entrance is less than an hour away where you can hike, bike, fish, or enjoy Skyline drive.
*Shenandoah Caverns is a short 20 minute drive and Luray Caverns is about 45 minutes away.
*Visit Woodstock for: Woodstock Cafe, Muse Vineyards, Woodstock Brew House, and local shopping.
*Hiking at Big Schloss is just 30 minutes away
*Within 5 minutes of the house we have The Burn Barrel for a quick bite, Smiley's Ice Cream, Mini Golf (next to Smiley's), The Copper Kettle Restaurant (at Bryce), and a local country store for anything you may have missed when picking up groceries on the way in.

Guests will have private access to the entire house. Every guest will receive a unique access code for the door, which provides a keyless and secure entry!

Check in instructions are provided automatically 48 hours in advance of check in (or automatically upon booking if booking inside 48 hours of check in).

Please note, this is located on a mountain. While all roads are paved including the driveway, it can be difficult to navigate during the winter months. We highly recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the winter months, but even with 4 wheel drive it can be difficult or impossible to navigate in the snow.

We recommend insuring your trip in the winter months when there can be harsh weather. We cannot offer refunds due to harsh weather conditions that make it difficult or impossible to get to the home as this is beyond our control.

There are about 15 stairs leading up to the front door. There is a ramp that mitigates most of the stairs, but you will still have to climb about 5-6 steps to enter the property.

Pets are welcome for an additional $125 fee per booking. Maximum of 2 pets per reservation.

Words cannot express how much we loved and enjoyed our visit, from booking to check out and everything in between! The house is ABSOLUTELY amazing and I have stayed in a lot of houses in alot of states. I can't find one negative comment about the space, the room, how it looked, and how equipped it was for everything we needed. It was one of the most comfortable experiences we've ever had away from home. The views are incredible. We can not thank you enough for sharing your home.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything a person would need for their stay is at their fingertips. The house had large open spaces inside and out. We are not hot tub users, but we did peek inside, finding it nice and clean looking. The host was super quick with answers to our questions. This was a lovely area too!

We had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed quiet mornings, sipping coffee on the back deck (even saw some deer come through), and sitting by the fire every evening. The hot tub was lovely on the chill nights and the lighting made for great ambiance. Plus you could turn the lights off and just have the fire and a sky full of stars!

Very nice house and great location, close to everything we wanted to do. Lake Laura perfect walk every AM for dogs, did some MTN biking, visited wineries, and hiked Big Schloss which was amazing. House had everything we needed and for us being the beginning of the off season it was quiet. Enjoyed the fire pit many nights. Courtney & Scott are excellent hosts- made sure everything was good on our end and very quick to reply and the local coffee they supplied was also a very nice touch & tasty!

Not sure where to begin...we just had an incredible stay at The Hideaway. Scott and Courtney really go out of their way to make for a memorable experience. The property and surrounding area made for just a perfect week...from playing a few rounds at Bryce Resort, to our nightley stop at Pale Fire brewpub ( you have to try the Meat Lovers Hot Honey Pizza )...mini golf and ice cream ..a visit to Muse and Cave Ridge Wineries...Swover Creek Farm Brewery, Lake Laura, and a day trip to Luray Cavern..and each day to arrive back at The Hideaway for smores around the firepit and a soak in the hot tub. The gameroom saw plenty of action as well ...even after our 5 hour drive back home we are still talking about all oyr adventures and cannot wait to book again

Family getaway

Comfortable stay, with fun game room for our teens. Lots of square footage with large clean rooms. Heads up for future guests that the hall bath is a small shower-bath accessible for 3 of the bedrooms/8 guests; the king bedroom has a full bath but is only accessible from inside that bedroom. May want to bring filtered water as the tap water in Basye is a bit over chlorinated. Kitchen had basics for cooking in two nights, and instacart found us for our groceries from Food Lion which was convenient. Loved quick access to the resort. We enjoyed watching the bluebirds’ nest from the fire pit area!

Wonderful getaway

You know when you book a place and wonder “will this really be like the pictures and description?” It’s always a surprise when you get there. The Hideaway is exactly as pictured and described! The house was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and the sheets were soft. My husband now wants those sheets for our home. It has every amenity you could ask for. Even the knives were sharp! That’s a rarity in rentals it seems. My kids loved the game room, hot tub and s’mores making at the fire pit. Plus it had all the sticks and rocks 5 and 7 year old boys could dream of. The host was incredibly responsive and went out of her way to resolve a minor issue quickly. We had a lovely time and would definitely come back.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stunning mountain views and a warm, inviting home that made for the perfect winter escape.The location was unbeatable—just minutes from the slopes, making it easy to hit the fresh powder in the morning. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to cozy, comfortable beds that made for the best sleep after a day of adventure.One of our favorite highlights was the outdoor firepit. Sitting around the crackling fire, roasting marshmallows, and making s’mores under a sky full of stars was pure magic. It was the perfect way to end each day—sharing stories, staying warm, and enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere.The hosts were wonderful—attentive, responsive, and thoughtful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a seamless stay. Whether you're here for skiing, snowboarding, or just soaking in the mountain charm, this rental is an absolute gem. We’re already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommended!

The house was beautiful. We loved the fireplace and the hot tub. Everything about the house was perfect. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and sizable. The location was very close to Bryce Resort. The expansive windows in the dining room and bedroom were amazing. I highly recommend this home. Our family and friends had such a great time staying here. Courtney was quick to respond and I appreciate her clear instructions and recommendations.

Fantastic property

Beautiful, astonishingly clean, very comfortable home. Easy to find, no crazy driveway, and everything you could ask for in a vacation rental. The gorgeous fire pit area was a stand-out for us. The weather did not cooperate during most of our stay, but we didn’t mind because there were ample spaces for entertaining. We spent a great deal of time in the converted garage/game room, and cooking our meals was a breeze in the spacious, well-appointed kitchen. At over 2,000 SqFt, there is plenty of room for a large family/group of friends. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience!

The owners were awesome to work with before during and after. The very clean house is as advertised. The fence in area for the dogs was most welcome. The bathrooms were stocked with shampoo and body wash . The kitchen was well stocked with quality cookware and knives. The beds and linens were very good. All the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay.

Wonderful Time

Home was well stocked, easy to enter, plenty of instructions and information within the house. Everything was clean and updated. Tons of windows and fun places to hang out. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, plenty of soft towels, blankets, etc.. The dog run was a great idea, our kids loved the game room. Fire Pit was awesome and in a great spot. Resort restaurant is two minutes away and food is pretty good. Great hosts, communicated throughout entire stay. We plan to return in the future.
