Sun Drenched Lakefront Cove

Sun drenched five bedroom lakefront home, presented by StayBettr Vacation Rentals, with a large flat backyard, dock, and outdoor activities. Indoors you will find a massive chef's kitchen with induction range, second double oven, and tons of counter space. The large recreation room downstairs comes with ping pong and foosball tables. The woodstove is great for those cold winter nights.



Large back decks and a covered lower patio to enjoy the lakefront breezes, sunsets, and stars here in the Catskills. Deck includes table seating and sun loungers. The patio under includes an outdoor kitchen, grill, and dining area. There is an outdoor firepit in the backyard.

Main Level:



Bedroom 1: King Bed, Closet, TV, Ensuite Bathroom w/ Soaking Tub
Bedroom 2: 2 Double Beds, 1 Twin (2 bunked, one twin trundle), Closet

Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom with tub on the main level.



Lower Level:

All spaces on the lower level share a bathroom w/ a shower.



Guest Access:



You will have access to the main house and outdoor areas including the dock. The driveway is paved and very large. Guests should not park on the street, or block the right of way to the other houses on the cove.

StayBettr Vacation Rentals manages this property remotely, but we have a local contact who can assist with any issues that may arise during your stay.



The Neighborhood:



Swinging Bridge Reservoir is the largest largest lake in the Sullivan Catskills, and one of the few that allows motor boats. You'll feel removed from the city, but still within 20 minutes of groceries and things to do. The neighborhood is a mix of seasonal homes and year round residents. A public boat launch is nearby, and just around the corner are two full services marinas--Starlight and Swinging Bridge Marinas.



Getting Around:



I recommend having car for your stay. Taxis are available, but ride sharing services are more sparse. Rental car services are available in Monticello. Shortline Coach Bus Service provides service between New York City and Monticello as well.

Otisville and Port Jervis Metro North Stations are each approximately 30 minutes drive from the house. The trip from NY Penn Station to Otisville is about 2 hours. Train/bus access is great if you have members of your group who need to arrive/depart at different times.



Things to Know:



You will be required to sign a rental agreement after the booking is confirmed. Full terms of the agreement are available on request. Additionally, you will be required to upload an approved government identification card or passport when you complete the rental agreement. If you have questions about either of these requirements please message us prior to booking.



Fees may apply for early check-ins, late check-outs, and additional optional services.



Up to two dogs may stay at the property. The first dog is includes in the nightly rate. The second dog incurs a $25/night fee.



No more than 4 cars allowed.



The dock is not available from early November until the lake has thawed and levels stabilize in late spring.

The house/location was beautiful and found in great condition, as the pictures represent. We needed to contact the owner with a couple issues, and they were very responsive. We needed to switch batteries around in the remotes, which was a bit annoying and I would recommend bringing bottled water for drinking, as the well-water looked dirty.

After we booked we learned our stay would be two days less than it should be since check in was not until 5 pm and checkout is at 11am, thus making it infeasible to enjoy those two days on the grounds.Check in was horrible. We received no instructions prior about the door code nor any information about the property as to where things are, how to use things like wifi, etc. We arrived at ten to five and tried calling VRBO several times and after a minute of conversation we jeot

Fabulous Vacation Home

The property and house matched the photos and descriptions. Being on the cove was especially nice. The house had everything we needed and we appreciated the shampoos and soaps in all the bathrooms including the wonderful outdoor shower. Property manager was very helpful and everyone enjoyed the kayaks. The house was spotless and smelled so clean when we entered. So grateful for our time.

We had a wonderful stay. House is beautiful and on a quiet street. Amenities were plentiful and house was exceptionally clean. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked great! I would recommend bringing a pop-up tent for the top deck to shield the sun (which we did) and it worked great!

This house is just as represented in the listing. Its a beautiful location and the lake is gorgeous! It's very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The dock was great for our boat, and having two marinas very close was a huge benefit. Just a note for small dog owners, the neighbors' very friendly, larger dogs do tend to roam and visit. This is only a heads up in case your furry friend would be scared. We greatly enjoyed our stay and there are plenty of stores within a short drive. Excellent property management as well! I highly recommend this property.

Really nice rental for a large group!

We had a super nice group of 8 college sophomores, our daughter and her friends. The yard had a great space for the lawn games we brought. The patio under the deck was great for hanging out and fire pit/grill. The lake was very accessible for swimming and kayaks. Indoors was spacious and had plenty of room for everyone to do what they wanted in small groups or all together. Very clean and felt freshly renovated. It has been well thought-out. The rental manager was very good with communication, and was quick to address any needs or concerns we encountered.This is the perfect spot if you want to stay on site, just relaxing, eating, and playing with your fellow guests.

Bethel woods getaway

House was beautiful, with plenty of room for three couples. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the house… we had a packed itinerary. We would have liked to enjoy the deck and outdoor kitchen, but the weather didn’t cooperate it flies. It’s all just flying in a blur; we had to enjoy the lake view through the raindrops. We did, however, make good use of the main kitchen. It’s rare that six adults can work together without bumping into each other but that giant island made it possible! The bedrooms were all very nice. The mattresses were all a little too soft or too hard, but otherwise no complaints. I’d definitely stay there again

Beautiful home in a great location

This is our second year renting a house at Swinging Bridge Reservoir. This house is beautiful, updated and in a great location on the lake. We even brought our boat (marina is just down the street). There was not one complaint from any of our 5 kids! (Ages 18-25) The weather wasn’t the greatest but there was still plenty to do! Boating, fishing, ping pong tournaments, foosball tournaments, Monticello Raceway, Resort World Casino, Bethel, The Boozery…the list goes on! The property is so large, great for frisbee or football. Set on a small private cove with a dock, paddle boat and kayaks. The inside is all updated and nicely decorated. Nice outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen, too! We may actually rent this house again next year!!

Great getaway for extended family

This space was the perfect location for our annual family lake trip. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and grill, the space for kiddos to run around, and the dock to launch our kayaks and the paddle boat from. The indoor space was clean, cool, and welcoming with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only concern we had was the missing part of the glass safety railing on the upstairs deck which made it unsafe for our kiddos. There was cardboard placed over this missing part, but it blew off in some windy weather we had. Not a huge deal since we did not end up spending much time there anyways, but warrants quick attention/repair.

This place was very well equipped and fit 10 of us friends beautifully. The outdoor space in particular was perfect. The floors were a bit dirty upon arrival but other than that, no issues.

Plenty of room

We enjoyed our stay because there was plenty of room for all of us. It worked perfectly for those who needed to be roomed on the first floor near bathrooms because of physical challenges. The home was lovely and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and hanging out playing ping pong and foosball. It was not as clean as we would have liked it to be. The rug in the living room needed a good vacuum and another good dusting including corners and behind curtains would have made a difference. We would have run the vacuum, but didn't find it until we were almost ready to check out. Some items needed a bit of repair, including the kitchen faucet. We enjoyed using the app to find places in the town and it was convenient to look up information about the house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thought the view was lovely. I am sure staying in the house in the summer would be wonderful.

Spacious house on a beautiful lake

Overall the house is updated (accurate to the pictures) and very spacious. It is well laid out to accommodate two families with bedrooms and living areas on both floors (both with access/views to the lake). The town is very sleepy, but yet able to find a few good restaurants. This would be a great place for a summer stay...the lake is much larger than I expected.

Perfect house to relax and play

We LOVED our stay! From the moment the booking was made there was info about the house and what we could expect. They even sent a link to an app that had all the info about the house, what was provided, how to work fire places and such, plus a list of activity’s and stores around the area with a searchable map! Made it so easy to play around and plan even before we arrived. The house itself is set up so comfortably for hanging out and catching up with friends or family. Sofas are perfect for curling up with coffee and talking or enjoying the beautiful lake view. Being winter we didn’t get to enjoy the outside seating and activities but they have made the outside seem as comfy as the inside with plenty of seating, and at night the stars were Amazing!! If you plan on just hanging at the house like we did the kitchen was perfect for cooking your meals. Plenty of countertop space and Two ovens! Plus Walmart delivers to the house! We had a WONDERFUL stay and would LOVE to stay again in summer spring to enjoy the outside activities too.

Great private location

Our family had a great time being able to all get-together at this home. The lake was lovely, and having kayaks, a paddle boat, and life jackets there, along with the shallow private cove was great for our children and grandchildren. The house itself was spacious and a good amount of room for all 11 of us. The kitchen was fairly well appointed, but could have used more silverware, and some smaller drinking glasses for the kids. Outside kitchen was a bit rough and dirty, so really didn't use that. We did use the grill, and that wored great. Overall, a nice place. Communication- the owner always responded and seemed nice, but tended to be slow in those resonses, so be patient. Beds were ok, some more comfy than others. Overall, we had a great time, and that was possible because of this place.
