New 2024 listing! Full of amenities (you'll need to see them to believe them!), Reuben Ridge's Hobbit House has 3 charming bedrooms and 2 completely renovated bathrooms. Our family friendly bedrooms are comfortable for up to 8 when the full size suspended bed & twin upper bunk is used. Otherwise, forget the suspended bed & upper bunk and the bedrooms are great for 6 adults (2 per bedroom) who want more private sleeping arrangements! Smart TVs in every bedroom plus living area. Ultra fast WIFI and Xfinity Cable. Fully stocked open concept kitchen includes coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and Splenda in addition to Olive Oil and most cooking Spices. We even supply insulated cups to keep your beverages cold! Indoor dining seats 8. Playstation 4 and multiple board games available for rainy days! Speaking of rainy days, there is a 12 x 16 screened gazebo on the deck with outside dining, a propane fire table & conversation area along with a propane grill (propane included for the fire table and grill). Private swimming deck with lounge chairs to relax in the sunshine! 9 x 12 swim mat, noodles, floats and life vests are all available at no charge or bring your favorite floats and fill them up with our onsite compressor!

Please note: Hobbit House has reduced ceiling heights in the kitchen and lower level bathroom. If you’re taller than 6’2”, you may want someone else to cook!

There is a 2024 Pontoon available to rent at an extra charge discounted for guests who rent our home! Boat fee is $400.00/day discounted to $368.00/day for our guests. Rentals for 3 days or more are discounted even further! Our boats are for rent to experienced boaters only but we also have a Captain's Tour package available so you can enjoy your time on the water and the SANDBAR without a care in the world! Just ask if you're interested!

Communication with the homeowner was excellent! She really cares about the experience the renter is having rather than just the income generated from the rental. She set the stage for a really enjoyable time with a basket of goodies and cucumber flavored and other water in the fridge made available. She really helped us have a very nice time.

This was an amazing trip. I took my three children, 15, 14 and 5, and my sister. There was something for us all to do.The communication with the host was very easy and always a quick response. The view was amazing from the back deck of the house along with the view from the deck on the water.I would absolutely book this home again.

The house was super cute, everything was bright and very modern. The host definitely made us feel welcome with fresh cucumber water, smores basket, snacks & cold water in the fridge upon arrival. There was a stash of games and puzzles provided that we enjoyed playing at the table on the deck under the lighted gazebo at night. The pontoon boat was perfect. Easily accessible and we had a great time tubing and cruising the lake. The host was very attentive and easy to contact with any questions. I would definitely recommend the hobbit house for a stay on the lake!

Another great stay!!!

We stayed 7 days. We enjoyed swimming off the dock. Grilling out and family time. Sunsets on the lake. Boat rides around the lake and Wave-runner rentals. Kelly is a wonderful host!

I would give 100 stars if i could! House was amazing! From the smores kits for the kids to having everyrhing we needed and more! We highly recommend renting the pontoon with a captain, he was amazing. Kids got to tube and go to sandbar while adults got to relax and chat with him. Cant wait to go back!

Lovely Lakeside Cottage

We had a wonderful stay! We had everything we needed and then some — Kelly went out of her way to make sure of it! From complimentary bath supplies to a s’mores kit, cucumber water and snacks — we felt very spoiled. Kelly even drove down to bring us more wine glasses! We barely moved from our perch on the back porch for 3 days. The shady pergola and breezes off the water made it completely comfortable even though the feels-like temp was in the 90s. Don’t hesitate to rent this cottage.

Just what we needed!

We had a great time. The house had everything we needed and more. They even went and got bait for us to fish. The rooms and beds were comfy and the porch and dock were peaceful. The family loved the pontoon boat and were ready for dinner and bed as soon as we got home. Just what we needed!

Family Vacation!

We had the absolute best holiday weekend! This was our first BIG holiday family vacation, and it could not have been any better. The house was great, it was clean, cute and perfect size for all of us! Kelly the host was amazing at communicating with us for anything we needed or had issues with figuring out! Quick to respond if needed, we were well takin care of. The house has almost anything and everything you need. We had made so many family memories from boating in their beautiful pontoon boat, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, to playing countless games of Uno! We over all had the best time. Also shout out to Ryan he was so helpful, and answered any questions we had! Over all I would highly recommend staying in the Hobbit House!

Best Hostess ever!

Our 3 night stay was just perfect. The Host was so accommodating and the attention to detail was phenomenal. The visit started with a welcome for our fur-baby, Buddy, which stole my heart right away. We were greeted with refreshing cucumber water and lots of special touches. She attentive and available. (Not that we needed anything because she had thought of it all) The outside deck was supplied with comfortable seating and a beautiful fire pit. The kitchen was very well supplied with anything one would need. A perfect little lake cottage for making wonderful heart warming memories with the family. Thank you, Kelly for being the best host.

Fantastic Stay on the Lake!

My husband and I stayed at the Hobbit House for a few days with our dog and had a wonderful time! The house was adorable, clean, and the views of the lake were beautiful. We really appreciated the snacks and personal welcome for the dog! Kelly was quick to respond from start to finish. We chose the boat rental option and had a great time of the water! I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice time at the lake!

Extended Family Trip

We enjoyed this VRBO for an extended family trip. The cleanliness of the bedrooms and bathrooms was exceptional. The views from the back deck was relaxing and just what everyone needed. The host was very responsive and provides a lot of extra perks (smores, coffee, soap, laundry detergent) that other VRBO hosts do not. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We rented the pontoon one day and went to Indiana Beach another day. Both of these excursions were convenient and enjoyed by all.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We had an excellent time at Kelly's property. She was super helpful & responsive while we were planning the trip and went above and beyond while we were there. The house is adorable - perfect condition and absolutely stocked with everything you could imagine. They had amazing bedding and linens, snacks, coffee bar, chargers, speakers, games, bugspray - literally everything you could need they have thought of! Will definitely visit again! The dock and pontoon boat were the perfect addition for our trip! Thank you for a great experience!

Purdue Grad Party

We rented for a celebration after Purdue graduation. The 8 of us (parents and young adults) used all the indoor and outdoor space. It was delightful, and I have never experienced a VRBO that was this well appointed. The beds and extra pillow really spoiled us. It had everything we needed and more. Monticello lost power on our first night, and the owner brought more candles and alerted us to the mini-lanterns ... it was like camping! SO FUN! We really appreciated the extra attention, the second fridge, and extra cooler. Our group enjoyed the tiered decks, really comfy furniture and waving to the boat neighbors. We are in good shape for all the steps!Thank you, Kelly and Ryan!

Golf Trip

House was immaculate with lots of nice touches like cucumber water in the kitchen, bottled water in the fridge, ingredients for s’mores. Only negative is this is not for anyone over about 6’1”. Kitchen has low ceiling and we cooked dinner every night. Top of my head looks like hamburger.
