«The property was ideal for a base to visit the surrounding area. Our bedroom and the property generally was clean and tidy. The owner and staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine but the 'help yourself' fruit in the dining area was not fresh. Parking could be an issue near the hotel but our disability parking permit helped.»

«Generally a good experience, but with reservations. A hotel of character, much nicer than bland city tower blocks, but ready for overall refurbishment. Very un-green: no double glazing anywhere I saw. Room cleaning skimpy - glass shelf over sink always left unwiped, tea provisions not topped up adequately, bath not wiped round. Food excellent quality, well prepared. More choice of breakfast buffet items would be welcome. If you are solo and book in advance for dinner, be aware that you might ...

«We had room 6, bejou and spotless. Just 3 little gripes in the bathroom. 1) There is no blind on the window. 2) Mirror over basin is stomach height, husband had to bend double to shave. 3) No shelf for toiletries. Otherwise the hotel is great. The food is FABULOUS. Biggest lamb shank i'd ever had. Breakfast bacon is a must and perfect fried eggs. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay here again»

«We had a good stay, wouldn't return. Weekend breakfast timing is 0800-1000 but we were offered 0700-0900 as the only people in the hotel and the owner had other plans. We asked for 0830 and he put 0800. Later we asked for closer to 0900 and we were told that not possible, we saw them drive off after serving breakfast. The room was good, loose floor tiles in bathroom and only one bath mat despite a shower and separate bath. No snacks and poor selection of hot drinks in the room. Hotel is clearly ...
