We had a big group stay here, all from out of state, and we spent >$5K for three nights.
The management group acknowledged the issues and promised to resolve it fairly, but then they only offered a measly refund and refused to discuss further. I’m sure the property will dispute this review, but I’m being completely honest and have documented pictures of everything.
Some of the issues encountered are listed below:
When our first guest arrived (not me), we were immediately informed that the elevator wouldn’t work and couldn’t be repaired over the weekend. The house was three stories with the kitchen and main gathering space on the third floor. Carrying groceries and drinks for nearly 16 people up and down the stairs was very frustrating. The host said that we were amenable to it, and that’s simply not the case at all. We simply said that if it couldn’t be fixed, what were we to do?
There was no hot water in the kitchen the first night and half of the second day. They did come to fix it then, but we were frustrated about needing to rewash everything. Hot water is required in a kitchen for it to be sanitary.
We also found a dead and rotting bird in the pool filter, and I mean it was seriously disgusting, with maggots and an extremely putrid smell. It had clearly been there for a long while, and made us uncomfortable using the pool. They cleaned the pool, but then accidentally drained half of the pool in doing so, so we were effectively without the pool for half the trip.
