«The hotel is a great location, and being a former grand estate, it is a beautiful house. Arriving as we did with a infant, it became clear that we where not in the hotels "core" guest segment, and the hotel should inform potensial guests better about the fact that they do not allow children below the age of 5 in the restaurant/dining room in the evening. «I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). »

«Lovely stay at the Vale Resort. The double bed was really two singles pushed together, which is very annoying since there is a large split in the middle of the bed. Not nice for a couple on a getaway ;-) Also the ironboard was useless. Other than that the resort was great, staff very helpful. £30 taxi ride to Cardiff surprised us though.»
