This cottage is a detached outbuilding located in the extension of a 17th and 18th-century residence that was once the castle of the lord of Mersuay and Bourguignon Les Conflans, Deyle Pierre MAIGNIEN DE MERSUAY. His great-great-granddaughter, Eugénie de COUCY, was born here in 1791. She was the second wife of Marshal Nicolas OUDINOT, and became Duchess of REGGIO.
The village is crossed by the Lanterne River (Category 1 for fish farming), where fishing is possible, as well as in two nearby ponds with a total area of 75 hectares. A 7-km educational trail surrounds this body of water to observe and discover its biodiversity.

The village is also located in the heart of the Natura 2000 area, with its numerous lakes and wetlands where multiple species of birds thrive, including kingfishers, swans, storks, mylans, and more.

Numerous cycling and hiking trails are nearby. The Maladière complex is 15 km away: swimming pool, aquagym, aquabiking, finning, aqua crossfit, and pedal boat rentals.
