I am writing to share a very disappointing experience at the Hilton property near IKEA in Memphis, Tennessee.
Upon check-in, my wife and our 12-year-old daughter were directed to their first room. When they entered, the television was missing from the wall, the furniture was extremely outdated, and the bathroom was in poor condition. The situation immediately made them uncomfortable and feel unsafe, as it appeared something had happened in the room.
They attempted to call the front desk but received no answer, so they went downstairs to address the issue in person. While requesting a new room, the front desk employee unnecessarily shared explicit details about a prior altercation involving previous guests “who were a male gay couple” in that room and stated the TV had been broken. This information was completely inappropriate to share—especially in front of a minor—and demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism and training.
They were then moved to another room, where once again the television was missing, indicating poor room inspection and management. At no point should guests encounter multiple rooms in this condition.
Overall, this hotel was not fitting of the Hilton name. Between the condition of the room and staff
