Le Chalet Barimale - MELLES

Located on the legendary GR10 hiking trail, this detached cottage captivates visitors with its breathtaking views of the most beautiful Pyrenean peaks: Le Mourtis, Le Burat, and Le Crabère. Nestled between unspoiled nature and a magnificent panorama, it promises an unforgettable getaway for those who love high altitudes, tranquility, and authenticity. Just 17 km from the Boutx-Le Mourtis resort, the chalet offers privileged access to a year-round destination where you can ski in winter and hike, cycle, or simply breathe in the fresh mountain air in summer. The village of Melles, a veritable balcony overlooking the central Pyrenees, is also the starting point for numerous nature and cultural adventures. From the cottage, discover seven must-see outings: stroll through the Val d'Aran and its typical villages with slate roofs, observe the wildlife in the Orlu Nature Reserve, explore the Col de Menté, famous for the Tour de France, treat yourself to a spa break in Bagnères-de-Luchon, cross the border to enjoy tapas in Arties or Vielha, or follow the tracks of bears in the Melles forest, a natural sanctuary par excellence. The cottage is on three levels: - Ground floor: covered terrace and enclosed garden of 400m², living room (fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge area with fireplace insert) and a very small bathroom (shower and toilet). - Mezzanine (steep stairs): very small sleeping area of 4m² with a ceiling height of 1.80m (double bed 140*190cm) and bathroom/toilet. Access to the terrace is also available (stairs without a handrail). Upstairs (steep stairs): very small dormitory of 5m² with a ceiling height of 1.60m (one double bed 140x190cm, one single bed 90x190cm, and one extra double bed 140x190cm). There is no heating in the bedrooms, but the air conditioning on the ground floor and landing maintains a temperature of 19°C. This gîte is not accessible to people with reduced mobility. Please note that the mountain road between Fos and the gîte is very narrow and winding. You can park on the road below the gîte.
