The facitity is above average in its grooming and is very clean. The use of naked pictures on permament display in outdoor areas was ofensive to us and we felt a disrespect to the conservative and modest culture of the Samoan people on this island.

thanks Ray for your review , I'm please you comments that the resort was above average , thanks for that, so to the issue with Yuki Kihara exhibition , Yuki won the prestigious Venus art awards in Italy , Yuki is Samoan / Japenese artist based in NZ , her exhibition has been travelling the world at major art galleries in Itally , currently in Sydney and then off to london and to finish in Tahiti home of Paul Gauguin , her art exhibition have all had extensions due to the world wide demand and been vistited by nearly a million people in Italy over 600k in Sydney and expected many more in London and Tahiti , her works of art are recreations of Paul Gauguin the famous French artist of pacific cultural , people and scenes , Yukis interpretation of his works are all done with a combination of local models including fa'afafine from Samoa in the beautiful back drop of Samoa , Saletoga was selected to host the exhibition from june 1st to january 31st next year , Yuki's works on display are copies on all weather material which have to be destroyed at the end of the exhibition so only her for a while and not to be missed .The exhibition at Saletoga Sands Resort is attracting special guests from around the South Pacific including NZ and Austrailia ,the official opening by our DPM and leader of the opposition and members of parliment on the 1st of June to coincide with Samoas independence and later the Commomwealth Heads of State conference (CHOGM) attrackting over 4000 guests including the King Charles and Queen Camilla. Many VIP who will be visiting the art exhibition as part of their cultural tours planed on rest days. As for your cultural comment most Samoan families have a fa'afafini in their family , there is no exposure of womens brests or bottoms and only one art piece that has some bare flesh of the bottom of a male model , this piece of art and in mind of critic's was placed on a designation only pathway away from main pathways of the exhibition, but to be honest you would see more flesh than that in a Maori cultural show or around most swimming pools at resorts around the world including Samoa . This Art is all about Samoan culture and with the use of some fa'afafini models , as art lovers we are very proud of Yuki and her achievement worldwide . This is our third visit to Saletoga, and we were in the same Villa we had been in the past, which is now looking and feeling tired. Beds were uncomfortable, and small repair jobs needed to be completed, broken fan face (still operational) broken soap shelf detail (still usable). Small detail, toilet roll not replaced on arrival. However clean towels, bedding and room, with air con and small fridge which is always welcome. Unfortunately there was a staff member Sanjay who did not give us the same service he was giving other white guests, which was disappointing. However at the Spa Sailau always gives a fantastic deep tissue massage - highly recommend. We stayed an additional night and were moved to an available Villa by the kids playground. A lovely space, which we enjoyed better. Saletoga has a special place in our hearts, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, with water refill stations, and the breakfast buffet delicious!

Positives and negatives. The rooms are great, resort setup is great, lovely beach front location. However, the service is not great, felt a burden. Towels were dirty, were difficult to get. Room cleans were brief. Food was hit or miss. We went at a very humid hot time and they are tight on the use of aircon. There is no aircon in the facilities, including the spa and gym, when we arrived our room was like a sauna and the aircon units hardly cool down your room. I would have liked to arrive to a cool room so I could start to adjust. There was no escape from the heat. I personally struggled with this but it might not bother others. If I had taken my kids (in particular the youngest), it would have been a struggle. Finally, a few months earlier, our flight got cancelled so we had to reduce our stay by one night. The resort refused to alter this. We did have a good time, but I wouldn’t return unless big changes were made, service, cleanliness and aircon.

An excellent stay. Beautiful resort and quiet. Beach is on your doorstep and food was great. Plenty of trips organised by resort and we had Tana as our driver who was very knowledgeable and told us plenty about the history of the area and country. Snorkelling was good and plenty of sea life in the coral. An excellent stay and would highly recommend it.

The staff amazing and could not Have done better. Unfortunately I booked the place especially for the pool but the pool was not available due to maintenance. I have medical issue and needed to attend my aqua fitness exercises which I was unable to do.

We highly recommend staying here! Family friendly, spacious rooms that are cleaned daily & great service. Maybe a laundry room is required for guests to do their own washing to save paying an arm and a leg for laundry.

For the price charged for this resort I expected a cleaner and better maintained room. Ours was very dusty under and around the furnitures. There was a meter long crack across the sliding glass door that was dangerous and needed fixing, but was ignored when pointed out. The staff were nonchalant and not situation aware or helpful when needed. The food choices were limited. Some breakfast items, like the boiled eggs tasted stale as though from previous days. The beach corals were not very healthy. All in all, it was not value for money.

We had the best time at Saletoga. Owners were lovely, staff amazing. Our Villa was exceptional, we loved how clean n spacious it was n the outdoor shower awesome! Safe beach, handy swim up bar, yummy food. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you all so much for an awesome 7 days ❤️

My husband had valuables stollen from our private deck. The only people around were staff members maintaining the grounds. I do not recommend! Great way to ruin a perfectly nice place

Trip to paradise
Awesome tropical trip with lots of leisure and sightseeing. We were impressed with Saletoga Resort, great facilities, food was excellent with great choice, quality and reasonable pricing. They collected us from the airport, super easy and rental car options were available at the resort.

Good resort but needs some amenities in all rooms
We stayed here for two nights. The resort is perfectly nestled on the south end of Upolu, Samoa. There is a huge difference between the single rooms located on the "old" block and the newer villas spread throughout the property. It's clean but lacks simple things like phones in the rooms. This means every time you want to contact reception, you have to walk or call them from a locally procured SIM card. The staff are hospitable and kind. The food was good. I think we'll book the Villa for a better experience next time. It's definitely a place we'll visit again.

The resort is pretty luxurious by Samoa standards. We were in the Matai fale - the Chief’s villa - which was just beautiful. It was right at the edge of the resort and very private. It was a spacious villa, very well appointed, with both indoor & outdoor bathroom spaces and a huge deck with our own outdoor dining set, as well as two sun loungers on our semi-private beach. There was a kettle and fridge and tv and and iron & ironing board. The beach and water were lovely - it is very calm and safe to swim, snorkel and kayak. Food options are not extensive but the food was pretty ok. The buffet breakfast was basic apart from the lovely fresh baked goods, but there were a la carte items too. My partner was injured and could not walk so spent most of his time in our room, reliant on room service. The room phone didnt work and I had to walk up to order each time. I was told my only other option was to get a local SIM card and call from my mobile phone. The staff were efficient enough but not hugely friendly or approachable. I found some of them quite offhand. We often observed one of the owners speaking harshly to staff. I wonder how they speak to their staff when nobody is around. NYE was a buffet dinner but we could not attend & there was no other food available which had not been explained. I was told it was the restaurant buffet or nothing. The head chef Nitesh kindly agreed to make something for us when he heard about my partner. I don’t think we would visit again.

I had an amazing time at Saletoga Sands Resort. The view was breathtaking, and my children loved the chance to see the beautiful fish right next to the shore. They were also delighted watching the crabs scuttle between the rocks. A highlight for me was the theme dinner nights, adding a unique and enjoyable dimension to my stay, and the pricing was very reasonable. Saletoga Sands is a family-oriented resort. While there's a delightful splash pool and playground for children up to about 8 or 9 years old, most guests congregated around the separate swimming pool. The addition of ride toys for young children and a water slide into the ocean by the owners was a really nice touch. Even though I wasn't daring enough to go down the slide, I appreciated the creativity it brought to the property. The limited internet availability posed a challenge for my husband, but he didn't mind sitting in the lobby to stay connected, whereas I saw it as an opportunity to read a good book. Overall, Saletoga Sands Resort exceeded my expectations with its thoughtful amenities, family-friendly environment, and unique touches that made our stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this resort.

The beaches needed to be cleaner. Plastic wrappers floating in the water with massive sea weeds needed to be cleared so people can swim. The beauty of Saletoga Resort is credited to the : "well built" cottages and the well planned details of the land's layout. More than this, the staff are excellent, friendly and welcomed the tourists with joy. Thanks to "Salome", the manager and the Saletoga Resort Staff. The staff protrayed the true Spirit of Alofa in Samoa. Malo Lava.

Als erstes möchte ich erwähnen, daß es sich bei Salatoga Sands um eine sehr gepflegte, mittelgroße Anlage mit einem wunderschönen tropischen Garten handelt. Leider ist, entgegen der Beschreibung, kein Strand sowie WLAN oder TV in den Beachbungalows der teuersten Kategorie vorhanden, auch nicht gegen Bezahlung. Da die Anlage sehr abgeschieden liegt und der winzige Minimarkt im Hotel nur das Nötigste bereithält, keine Souvenirs, ist man gezwungen, dafür in das ca. 1 Std. entfernte Apia zu fahren. Dort haben allerdings am Wochenende alle Läden geschlossen. Es gibt keine Strandalternative, außer mit einem teuren Mietwagen vor Ort einen öffentlichen Strand zu suchen, der ziemlich weit entfernt ist. Da wir dieses Hotel nach einem 2-tägigen Aufenthalt in Apia gebucht haben in dem Glauben, gem. der Beschreibung einen schönen Strand vorzufinden und WLAN gegen Gebühr in unserem Beachbungalow, wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Noch nicht einmal der Fernseher funktionierte, wäre an verregneten Tagen schön gewesen, da um spätestens 21.00 Uhr in der Anlage alles geschlossen war und selbst die Gartenbeleuchtung abgeschaltet wurde. So konnte man abends leider noch nicht einmal nach dieser Uhrzeit von der Rezeption, wo es WLAN gab, sicher zu seinem Bungalow gelangen, da alles dunkel war und man die Handytaschenlampe benötigte. Es gibt 2 Restaurants, wovon nur das A-la-Carte Restaurant genutzt wird, das Essen allerdings recht gut war, die Preise OK (Bier 8€), kont. Frühstück ist im Preis enthalten.

We stayed for 6 days at Saletoga Resort and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The rooms were clean and the staff wonderful. Even got to chat with the owners who were very friendly and live onsite. Our family of 19 had a blast and looking forward to returning again soon. Thank you Saletoga staff.

Fabulous family time at Saletoga Sands!
We had a great trip to Saletoga Sands! The resort is beautiful, had everything we needed, and was very relaxed. Highlights for kids (we had a toddler with us) were the pool, kids pool, playground, "sandpits" next to each restaurant, beach cove, trampoline, and lovely staff who made a big fuss of her. We stayed in a Deluxe family room which gave enough space for her portacot to be set up and the room had AC available to cool it down for her day naps. We rented a car for one of the days to head to the caves and the trench, othewise we just relaxed on-site and had the best time!

Lovely short beak - would recommend!
We enjoyed our short stay (3 days) The room (we had a small bungalow) was clean, spacious and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was generous and there was a good variety. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent. We enjoyed the pool but would have appreciated a handrail for access in/out, but the pool is lovely. The snorkelling was ok - not as good as elsewhere though but I think that is just that coastline. Would have appreciated more enforcement of the smoking/vaping areas - we don't smoke or vape and dont' enjoy it in the dining areas, bar or pool area. Overall a good stay and will will return.
