Best in Marseille but not good enough
Possibly the best hotel in Marseille, but a few minuses. Incredibly bad sound insulation between the rooms, we could hear everything going on in the hallway and were woken up several times by noise. The blackout curtains could also be better. The swimming pool had 1 meter depth and was full of people.

Fantastisk hotell. Lekkert rom med dusj og frittstående badekar. Stor terrasse med utsikt over havnen. God service og vakre omgivelser. Gangavstand til havnen. Hotellet burde hatt 5 stjerner.

Mostly all as expected for a hotel of this rating/price. Compared to previous visits to Marseille we really appreciated the ease of 24hr valet parking for euro 39 at this hotel. Breakfast was chaotic and did not reflect the hotel’s rating.

Dommage la piscine froide!

Beautiful hotel with amazing view. Room is very comfortable with style. Staff could be nicer, the plumbing system might need to be updated, sometimes it has a smell. But will definitely stay again if I come here again.

This was probably the best hotel we stayed at in France. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and spacious. Our taxi driver said this was the number 1 hotel in the city. Would definitely stay here again if I am ever in Marseille again.

Vraiment bien situé, lit très confortable et très belle grande chambre. Restaurant assez dispendieux pour la qualité! 44 euros pour une bavette ordinaire avec des frites congelées sans légumes. La pizza côté bar est délicieuse.pour se rendre au port en 5 minutes, grosse pente à descendre donc pour les personnes âgées pas facile.

Service Felt More like a 3 star hotel
I expected a 5-star experience at InterContinental Marseille, but was sorely disappointed. Upon arrival, no one assisted with luggage, and the check-in felt more like a 3 star hotel. We checked into our room and immediately noticed several issues: tools left behind, a crooked TV, and an unclean bathroom. We tried to contact reception, but no one answered. Meanwhile, we waited 45 minutes for our luggage to arrive. It was only when the bellman came with our luggage and we informed him of the room's condition that he managed to get reception to contact us to be moved to another room. Later we contacted room service for some ice, only to be told it would take 30-40min. In the end I just went down myself to get ice from the bar. Seriously 40min for ICE? I booked this hotel mainly for the spa, which turned out to be mediocre, not matching the allure of its promotional videos. The bellman's friendliness and local knowledge were a small bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. InterContinental Marseille needs to seriously reconsider its 5-star rating if it continues to offer service that is more in line with a 3 star establishment. I would not recommend this hotel for those seeking a luxury experience.

The property was supposedly a five star hotel, however, I was very disappointed in the room. We arrived in our room to find 2 pastries on the side table that were covered in ants. There were hundreds of small ants. Also, there were hairs in the bathroom and it wasn’t clean. The room was small and did not have high end finishes. We were assigned to another room on a lower floor. I was expecting at least a small upgrade for the inconvenience, but we were given a similar room on a lower floor. Do not expect a five star experience at this hotel.
