4 Bedroom Historic Charmer Marion Uptown

This Historic Home has so much charm and character! You will love the focal point living room with it's luscious wood floors and large windows for plenty of natural light. The dining room is just off to one side and welcome guests with a wonderful atmosphere. The kitchen is sure to impress with the oversized space, counter space, stainless steel appliances, tiled flooring and updated cabinets.

PLEASE NOTE: PARKING at this house is for residential vehicles only. If you are traveling with as oversized delivery truck or U-haul etc, please do not book due to the parking constraints. The driveway is a shared driveway with the neighbor. Please do no park any cars blocking the driveway. Parking is on the left side of the shared driveway. Parking on the right is for the adjacent property. The center of the driveway should always be kept clear for both property's access.

There are 4 bedrooms on the upper level with one full size updated bathroom. The conveniently located main level full bathroom has been recently updated with modern features. The lower level finished space is a great place to hang out with friends for extra privacy. Spend your summer evenings in the back yard by the fire-pit or enjoy the sunsets under the cover of the front porch. There are also two spacious decks perfect for outdoor leisure as well. A large fenced backyard for your fur babies as well.

No-smoking Policy:
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

Pets Policy:
WELL BEHAVED pets are welcome with a separate nonrefundable pet fee of $150 per 2 pets per stay.

Occupancy Limits:
Our house rates are based on 2 guests and we can accommodate up to 10 for additional fees. Please be honest and accurate about how many guests are staying when you book. The 3rd through 10th guests are $10 extra per guest per night. At no time the total occupancy should exceed 10 people.

No events, parties, or large gatherings:
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees. Booking a stay with 10 people but inviting additional guests to host a family reunion, baby shower, graduation party, bachelor/bachelorette party, wedding shower, etc. is considered an event and will charged extra.

Refund Policy:
- There are NO REFUNDS allowed for Weather, Natural Disasters, Power Outages, and other circumstances that are beyond our control.

- NOTE: The property requires stairs to access the property and bedrooms on the upper level which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility

Home was perfect for our trip to Iowa football game -- approximately 40 mn to stadium. With convenience to grocery shopping and dining.We enjoyed the space for all of us -- 4 bedrooms and comfortable beds!Appreciated abundance of towels!A little more seating in TV space would've been nice, and a quick check of nooks and crannies for dust and dirt and clean up were the only minor issues.Overall, would recommend and would stay here again!

Beautiful home and comfortable beds. But be aware that the cost listed on VRBO is only for 2 people with additional nightly costs for more than 2 people. Seemed strange for a 4 bedroom house that advertises that it accommodates 10 that the cost shown is only for 2. I admit that the per person overage cost is written into the description of the house but that section is included within a lot of text several scrolls down the page. So it’s not that they didn’t list that, we just found it strange and have never experienced a large place basing their original price on only 2 guests. Also, there is a requirement to either pay a non-refundable damage deposit (which I have seen before on other VRBO’s) or have them charge 1500 on your card for a damage deposit and then reimburse you once they go through the house. I paid the nonrefundable because I didn’t want that extra money tied up. I did not find out about this until I was finishing up the booking and I had already shared the estimated cost with my friends. Again, I am aware of the optional nonrefundable damage deposit, but have never stayed at a VRBO where the only other option is 1500 on your cc.The seating in the house isn’t really for 10 people. It worked out ok for us since we were far less, but still - don’t expect to have great seating options for a large group.There were other small issues, but overall, it’s a beautiful house in an awesome neighborhood within walking distance to great nightlife options!

This was everything we needed for our stay! Spacious, clean, and updated! Didn't spend much time at the house because of other activities on the trip but would have been a great place to also hang out and unwind. Great parking, safe and quiet neighborhood. Would definitely come back!

Cute house in a cute neighborhood

We used the property for a girls weekend and absolutely loved it. The house is old with cute old-fashioned features like pocket doors, decorative wood posts, and embossed windows. The kitchen space is very modern, however. The beds were very comfy and the upstairs bathroom was very nice. We loved all of the seating around the firepit in the back. We felt very safe in the neighborhood - it's full of other cute old houses that are very nicely maintained. I can't think of any suggestions to make to improve on the place - they have it all. 10/10 would stay again if in the area! It totally beats staying in a hotel!

Spacious & beautiful woodwork

This worked well for our family while we attended a wedding in Cedar Rapids. The location was excellent as Marion has some great restaurants and cute shops. All walkable. The back deck was one of our favorite places to hang out and the parking worked well too. (As a carpenter's wife, I did notice some needs for improvement in the finishes, but did not affect our stay.)

A great spot!

We enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed the outside space as well. Hosts were very flexible as we needed a late checkout to accommodate a late baseball game. I would recommend the cleaners pay special attention to the ceiling fans as they were dusty so we couldn’t use many of them.

Great location for walking to Marion shops and restaurants.

The house is a gorgeous old home. It definitely felt like a project someone is slowly fixing up. The beds were comfortable and could use mattress pads as ours was stained. A mirror and sign hung by 3m were not attached. The upstairs deck could have been cleaned. In general just some TLC and added conveniences like mirrors and seating in the bedrooms so guests can get ready and free up the bathrooms. The air conditioning did not work the first day or so but the property manager responded quickly and had someone there to repair it the next day. Overall our family enjoyed watching movies together and spending time in Marion.

Fantastic

Interior was huge, perfect for all 10 of us. Great style and perfect parking situation. The back deck is spacious and excellent for hanging out. Only drawback was no sheets for the two basement cots. I’d recommend a friend to stay here for sure.

Nice place

Just as pictured. Nice house, great neighborhood, the yard was perfect for my dogs. Although we were at an event all day we didn't get to utilize all the house offered. Game room looked cool. Very comfortable, clean and was stocked on towels, dishes, ect. Downtown area was great with choices for dining out.

We enjoyed your home, it is beautiful. No problems with anything. The kitchen was not as well stocked with utensils and large cooking pots or large platters. The climate was good, seemed to work well.
