This multi-level, family-friendly home very close to Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia, offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comfort in a private, rural setting. Thoughtfully renovated, it features reclaimed wood, including beautiful chestnut, cedar posts, heated floors in bathrooms, and on-demand hot water. Enjoy a nice view and the soothing sound of the nearby creek.

We want to make sure you have the utmost convenience! You'll be provided an access code to the back entrance prior to check-in. The owners are local, and will be able to be reached by platform messaging during the duration of your stay.

The property is located on a private road, and while not overly difficult to access, guests should be prepared for rural conditions, including gravel roads. It's recommended to have a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle, especially during damp or winter conditions.

The fireplace is decorative only and not for guest use.

The upper level serves as a private master sanctuary featuring a King bed set under soaring vaulted ceilings and a spa-like ensuite bathroom equipped with heated floors and a deep soaking tub.

On the middle level, the social heart of the home unfolds with an open-concept kitchen boasting a massive wood-topped island and a gorgeous banquet dining table. This main living area also provides a Queen sleeper sofa for additional guests and a second full bathroom with heated floors.

The walk-out lower level functions as a flexible garden suite with two twin beds, a third full bathroom, and a dedicated laundry room, offering direct access to the lush backyard trails.

A third full bathroom (with shower and heated floors) and a dedicated laundry room with a washer/dryer are located at the lower-level area.

Never worry about mountain weather. A Generac automated generator ensures the lights stay on, while on-demand hot water and a water softener system keep you comfortable.

Stay perfectly cozy with central HVAC, a master-level mini-split, and ceiling fans throughout.

Private parking is available for up to 3 vehicles. (Please note: no parking on the grass to preserve the natural landscape).

Access is easy and secure, providing you with total seclusion just a short trip from the beach at Hungry Mother.

To maintain the character of the reclaimed wood and safety of the home, the fireplace is decorative only. We’ve provided plenty of board games and a record player to ensure the "lodge vibes" are felt throughout your stay!

The property is ideally located near Hungry Mother Lake within Hungry Mother State Park, a popular destination where guests can enjoy fishing, swimming, and relaxing by the water. The park also features a scenic beach area, perfect for a day outdoors.

Just off Route 16 (The Back of the Dragon), the property offers easy access to one of the region’s most famous driving routes, known for its stunning curves and breathtaking views.

Nature lovers will also appreciate the proximity to iconic landmarks such as Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Rogers, both offering incredible opportunities for hiking, sightseeing, and exploring the beauty of the surrounding area.

There is space for up to 3 vehicles; please do not park on the grass.

Parties are strictly prohibited; quiet hours are from 9 PM to 8 AM, and violations may result in removal.

Smoking is not allowed inside the property.

As the home is in a wooded area, occasional insects like ladybugs may be present despite pest control.

A charcoal grill is provided; guests should bring their own charcoal.

A Generac generator will activate about 15 seconds after a power outage.
