Uniquely authentic with great views!
Nice little family owned hotel on the side of a mountain with a great view! The proprietors were welcoming and most accommodating.

“Hot”water was actually cool, so we could not shower. Shower stall was very tiny. Sink was clogged and didn’t drain adequately. Windows and window sills were dirty and did not close properly. Outside of room was poorly maintained and dirty. Beds and bed linens were clean and comfortable. There’s no place within miles to eat dinner on a Sunday. Everything was closed. Would not recommend. Will not go there again.

Farrokh, We are sorry you did not have a good experience at our Inn. We had no communication with you at all until you left and told us the sink was clogged. You did not mention anything about the hot water. We are in the mountains and sometimes things happen that we are not aware of until someone brings it to our attention. Yes your sink was clogged and fixed within 2 minutes, and the hot water worked fine if you just waited for it to heat up. There are 9 restaurants within 8 miles from us that serve on Sunday, all you had to do was inquire at the desk and we would have happily helped you find a restaurant. Just because our property did not meet your expectations, that is no reason to write a bad review. Our property is clean and well kept on a regular basis. We appreciate that you will not be visiting us again, so we may accommodate the people that are happy to be here.

This is an old property, built mainly of wood 93 years ago. It is situated on the edge of a winding mountain road with stunning views of the mountains. Due to its age the facilities are basic, the bathroom was only just big enough for one person! The beds are comfortable and the owners are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony and gazing at that amazing view! If you like rustic charm then this is the place for you. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

It was unsafe- floors so slanted we became dizzy just looking at our room. Tight narrow hallway also slanted floor. No tv or microwave etc in room. Dangerous steep con you steps down to room. We did not stay due to all this but owner made us pay because she said she had to pay Expedia. We had to find another place to stay. We did not even go back into the room after looking at it. Very disappointed

George, We are so disappointed that you chose to write a review based up the 10 minutes you were on our property. I offered you another room in a different part of the property. Unfortunately, you were so focused on the TV and microwave that it didn't matter what room we gave you. When you book through Expedia/Hotels.com. etc, we are charged regardless of the reason you do not stay. Had you booked directly with us I would have been happy to refund your deposit.

A very relaxing place to stay
This was a great place to stay! The owners were incredibly nice and we felt very welcome. The views were amazing with a very clam and laid back atmosphere. We will stay here the next time we are in the area.

A Must Stop Along The Blue Ridge Parkway
Alpine Inn is an historic vintage motel built in the 1920s. It is located on an isolated highway nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the village of Little Switzerland, NC — which was one of the earliest vacation retreats in the Carolina mountains. The Inn has been updated without sacrificing it historic features. The views into the valley are gorgeous and the breakfast provided would satisfy the most demanding gourmet. And it is served on a cantilevered deck on the mountainside. The rooms are comfortable and cooled softly and quietly by the mountain breezes. If you love the mountains you will love the Alpine Inn.

The Alpine Inn is a unique place. The view is beautiful but somewhat limited because of growing trees all around. Parking is not good at all. Larger vehicles cannot park directly in front of the building, so you have to park across the highway right on a sharp curve. Crossing back and forth to the facility can be dangerous. I was almost overcome by a car coming around the curve from the uphill side. It was upon me before I could hear it coming. The rooms are very small and dated. The bathroom was tiny and not convenient at all. The breakfast provided (at an extra charge) was very limited - no protein items available, all high carb items. It was not good for my diet as a diabetic. The two inn keepers were very friendly and kind, but they have a limited facility to work with. I guess you pay for the view, but otherwise it is over-priced for what you get.

Lovely mountainside B&B
This was a lovely little hotel right on the side of the mountain. The hosts were so friendly! The trip would have been worth it for breakfast on the balcony alone. We will definitely be staying here again!

Amazing!
Our stay was amazing! The two guys at the front desk were nice and helpful. The owner was very nice and chatty. They had a fire in the firepit both nights we were there. The environment felt more like a getaway with friends than a hotel. The view is spectacular. Will definitely return!!

Great unique place to stay. Don't miss early breakfast on the porch with a spectacular view and visits from the resident hummingbird. Definitely not a cookie-cutter highway exit motel. The camp fire is a great place to chat in the evening with other guests and the very personable owner Ron, who can fill you in on the history of the Inn and local area.

The service was top notch, the man who runs the office is one the most welcoming I have come across. They make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need, the view along with the breakfast they serve was heavenly, will definitely be going back!!

Small room with good view
Not as advertised. It sounded like large room with balcony. Had to pay extra for balcony. Sign outside says bread and breakfast which is true for a cost.Other than that just okay.Only place to walk is on a curvy road.

The view from our room was amazing, this is a very quaint little place. It was quiet and cozy. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioner in the room. I chose to stay on the most hot/humid days of the year (mid-August) so it got very hot in the room. I would definitely stay there again, but later in the fall, when temperatures are more moderate.
