Flott hotell med god service
Beste serviceorientert hotell jeg har bodd på noen gang. Innbydende og hygienisk bra. Ubeklagelig personale, alltid imøtekommende og positive. Hadde mange gode matopplevelser på hotellrestauranten - Hyggelige kjøkkenpersonal og super mat. Kommer definitivt tilbake!

Cleanliness- par excellence! This is what matters the most to me. Clean sheets and a clean bathroom. Loved the cordial and super polite approach and atmosphere. GM-Peter Nirmal - so very professional and a super nice guy/ Anush and an intern who helped me- I simply can’t find words for these great guys! in addition everyone at front desk were super great people to talk or deal with. I needed some water and in less than 3 minutes it was at my door( 3rd floor) I truly loved the place and will definitely stay there again . I also met with Mrs. Doreen Patrao- great sales personnel for the Gateway, Mangalore. Kudos to this team and much success in the future. There’s no other place in Msngalore betters than yours ! Keep up the great work of excellence!

It's rundown and a shadow of it's former place. It is under going renovation and it wasn't mentioned while booking which is the biggest gripe I have with the property.

This was supposed to be the top hotel in Mangalore. Unfortunately, I felt that the AC was the only top class part in the hotel. There is a weird fishy smell if you stand for any time outside the hotel. Probably due to the fish market being close, and likely not a fault of the hotel. But that gives you an idea of the area it is in. The hotel staff are extremely smug as if working in a "Taj" facility makes them any better than the service staff at any good hotel. I found this very irritating, especially having traveled quite a bit around the world and in India. The rooms are barely acceptable for the price with outdated bathrooms, poor internet service, and small TVs. The bed linens were scratchy - the top cover is silky but the actual sheets you lie on cause itching. Even by US standards, the hotel is definitely on the more expensive side for the quality that you receive for the price. The breakfast buffet was good, but not exceptional. So overall, I was really disappointed with the service, beds, and definitely the price I paid for it. I should have saved my Orbucks for another trip. Orbitz: Please get a better selection of good hotels in Mangalore, India!
