Major renovation work in progress in lobby. At check in, desk clerk acknowledged my Expedia reservation then said they “had no room available,” offering no further explanation or assistance until I protested. Manager finally came and found us an acceptable room. Breakfast was advertised to end at 10 AM. However at 9:20 all food including steam table items (eggs, bacon, potatoes), pastries, cereal, boiled eggs etc. was gone while guests wandered about looking for scraps and complaining. Surprisingly, the hotel staff made no move to restock until I complained then they furiously began trying to microwave various frozen items with 30 minutes left for breakfast. Too late! Phone in my room was broken (dead) my entire stay. Room refrigerator froze several soft drinks and fruit absolutely solid. All fruit had to be thrown away. In all a very disappointing and unsatisfactory experience from a hotel that once was a top notch place to stay.
