Checking-in is a long wait. There should be only one line instead of separate lines in front of each front desk agent. We were 3rd in line in front of an agent but we stood and waited for 45 minutes while he took care of the guests in front of us. Our room ( Junior Suite with Kaaba View) was fantastic. Everything else was okay.

I stay 4 nights but from start to check out the services of reception staff and duty manager attitude were not good, they waste lot of time of the people. They need proper training to know how to treat pilgrims.

Separate elevators than the main clock tower, but also connected to the main clock tower so you have both options. The separate exits are roughly a 5-7 minute walk straight to King Fahd Gate which is very convenient. Breakfast buffet is also very very good.

For a Five star hotel left a lot to be desired. Decor is dated which is fine but there seemed to be a damp smell in the room. Which made the stay a little uncomfortable. However, by far the biggest peeve is the fact that we had to stand in line for nearly two hours at reception to check in!!!!

This is a really great place to be while visiting Haram. Walkable to Masjid al Haram. Room service is very prompt. Check in does take some extra time due to the rush so please plan accordingly.

Overrated hotel, would not stay there again! room service is terrible, plugs don’t work, the shower hot and cold are on opposite ends, concierge manager, for taxi is so rude. Don’t expect anything other than a good partial view of the KaBa through the very dirty windows! Pillows are lumpy, the duvet is a cotton sheet, the AC will make you sick! The breakfast was a massive let down, I didn’t go back after the first experience.

The property is very conveniently located next to Haram and is at a walking distance. They have separate elevators that directly leads to the street to the Haram. The hotel and itself is excellent. The Cabo view, and the Haram view are a must to get, if you can afford. The breakfast in the morning is the best part. It’s a it’s a lavish breakfast with almost 60 items, including a lot of hot items and cold items. Our upgraded rooms came complementary with an afternoon snack between 1 to 4 and a complementary tea and biscuits from 5 to 7. The rooms are pretty neat although they may be 10 years old, but they are kept in an excellent condition. The room service was excellent and on time. The check-in process is the little slow. It takes quite a bit of time due to the volume of the people checking in although it is not a dealbreaker since you just check in one time and then you’re done. The hell desk is very responsive and whatever you ask for gets done within 5 to 10 minutes you don’t have to ask again and you don’t have to wait on for the service to be provided. I would recommend anybody to stay in this hotel if you can afford and also I will stay the next time for sure.

The reception staff could not find my booking then they gave me a room that smelled of smoke and not so clean. When I contacted the customer relations member, they moved me to a better room. The half boarding option was great. I would still prefer Hilton suites to this one.

Recently I stayed at Swiss Al Maqam for the second time. I liked it so much that I recommended my parents to stay here for their umrah and they did. Both of the time I used Expedia to book the hotel and got the best deal. Room service was done everyday and we enjoyed the breakfast as well. One complain I have is I booked a room for three adults (my parents and younger sister), but rather than providing a room with three proper single beds, they provided a room with two single beds only, and squeezed one extra bed which was very unstable and my mom fell from that. Due to that bed there wasn't adequate place to walk or place bagggages in the room as well. Basically the hotel charged me a room for three persons BUT gave me a room for two persons while squeezing an unstable iron frame with a low quality mattress. The mattress used to slip off from the frame making is risky to sleep or sit on. I raised this concern in the reception but they were not helpful.
