Homely apartment with fantastic views
We had a superb stay at Chez Lorna. From the moment we booked, the hosts were in contact via Whatsapp to offer information and advice for our trip and they were always responsive and available to answer our questions. Although they were away during our stay, other members of the family were available at the adjoining property to welcome us and offer tips for our stay. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable with a good kitchen and lovely outdoor terrace area with great views of the bay below. Although there isn't a dedicated parking spot, there is plenty of space to park in the street outside and we never had trouble finding a space. The area is residential and we really enjoyed being in a local neighbourhood, especially since we visited over Christmas and could see and hear neighbours as they prepared to celebrate. At the end of the street is a well stocked mini market, but there isn't really anything to walk to in the area in terms of tourist attractions. This suited us well as a family with small kids since we had a hire car anyway - I would say a car is essential if staying here since buses are not very frequent. Overall we were very happy to stay at Chez Lorna and would definitely book again.

I did the booking and after 5 min had to cancel it due to unforeseen reasons. The owners would not shift, or refund and were quite rude.

The property is next to the town with no traffic jam, from the shared small balcony there is a beautiful view, the rooms are not expensive and the rental period is minimum one week. To get to the property there is a very hard ascend, all the rooms except one don't see the sun, the shared kitchen is not clean as it should be, the owner sends a lot of WhatsApp messages where some of them are unpleasant, their services are very limited.

Chez Lorna is at Quincy village which is about 10mins drive from Victoria - the city capital. Here in Mahe everything is just a few distance drive from Chez Lorna making it a place to stay. At this hotel apartment, everything ranging from view to physical touch is just a breathtaking. Lorna and Theo are just exceptional beings, taking time to educate and assist their guest. It was unbelievable the amount of energy these 2 people have. Perfect people for each other. They both ensured that our visit was seamless and did encourage us to sail across the Indian Ocean. That was something I would never dream of doing on my own, thanks to The duo. As time is always very short when it comes visiting a place like this, I know I have more reasons to visit again and Chez Lorna will be my host once more.

It wasn't easy to contact the owner or the staff when checking in. There's no front desk and I had to call the mobile number which I had gotten beforehand by calling the property several times. But even it was really hard to reach.

Chez Lorna is a few minute walk away from a bus stop. It’s also near Victoria so the location is quite central. The hosts Lorna herself and Theo were very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this property.

Guesthouse in familiärer Atmosphäre
Beim Chez Lorna handelt es sich um ein Guesthouse, in dem man im alten Zimmer des Sohnes übernachtet. Man ist also mitten im Geschehen. Das hat einerseits Vorteile, da es sich sehr heimelig anfühlt; andererseits hat man aber relativ wenig Privatsphäre. Die Familie sucht das Gespräch, will mit einem gemeinsam frühstücken und erwartet allgemein ein eher familiäres Miteinander. Wer das will, wird wunschlos glücklich sein!

This property is very homey. The care taker and house host, Chuka, is a gem. He makes sure anything you need is made available. He organizes exclusions, taxis, does laundry, and I have seen him feed guests whose personal eating preference can't be met elsewhere. My exoetinxe and accommodation at Chex Lorna was exceptional

Abbiamo dormito una notte di passaggio nella struttura. Si trova in zona periferica difficile da raggiungere a piedi, è necessaria una macchina anche perché nei dintorni non c’è nessun servizio (ristoranti o negozi) e comunque lontana dalle spiagge.piu che una camera era un appartamento spazioso e con uso cucina, comunque pulito. Wifi scarso per utilizzarlo era necessario andare in Giardino. Un po’ complesso il check in in quanto bisognava concordare telefonicamente l’ora di arrivo, in ogni caso i proprietari molto gentili e disponibili.

Nice place with notable problems
This is a beautiful place with nice rooms and good accessibility to Victoria and the rest of the island. However it is more of a homestay with anything else, so the relationship with the owners becomes central. The male host needs to lay off the invasive questions about where I'm from, who I'm with, where my name came from, etc. Also there is constant scrutiny of the A/C usage and there is very little bedding provided, only sheets. I left my room at 8 pm trying to find some kind of bed covering and after 15 minutes came across the very upset male host telling me that of course I need a bed covering if my room is kept at "ice box" temperatures. I had the A/C set to the exact same temperature as it was when I checked in, 25 celsius. It is unreasonable to deny people bedding in the hopes that they will let the room cook to 30 degrees so that they save a few cents on the power bill. Also problematic was the departure. I asked the night before for a taxi departing for the airport at 1 pm. Owners said they understood clearly. 1:25 pm rolls around and a family friend shows up in a Jeep instead of a proper taxi. I did not care about the 100 rupees saved since he drove like a maniac and I could have missed my flight. He was driving out of the lane for half the trip, and it wasn't to avoid pedestrians. It was very dangerous. Apparently you have to dial a taxi yourself as the owners won't.

Chez Lorna is a wonderful place to stay. The place offers comfort, and the people in charge showed true hospitality. They just need to do some pest control to try to prevent wall geckos from getting inside. Thanks for a comfortable and an enjoyable stay.

スタッフがとても気さくで良かったです！ ゲストハウスの立地場所が丘の上で凄く静かで良かった反面シティー行くとかビーチに行く交通手段が大変だった気がします。 後近くにレストラン無かったので、食事が困った！ でもスタッフの優しさでとても居心地良かったです！

Average stay
Overnight stay before leaving for La Digue. No assistance was offered to carry our bags up the many many stairs. Room was average - open plan bathroom (no privacy), and ceiling boards in need of renovation. We were informed breakfast was not available to us as we were leaving at 7am, yet there was breakfast prepared for other guests. Maybe long term guests get a better deal? We are glad that on our return to Mahe when we are staying for another 5 nights, we are not staying here.

Ho trascorso 12 notti da Chez Lorna. Lorna e Theo sono due persone squisite, mi hanno fatta sentire a casa. La guest house è pulita ed accogliente. Io ho alloggiato in un monolocale con angolo cottura ed una splendida veranda. Sono stata bene. Semplice e confortevole. Se siete sprovvisti di auto dovete prepararvi a camminare un po', sapere che alla sera non ci sono autobus e se volete andare in città dovete chiamare un taxi. Forse la struttura è un po' fuori mano ma avrete l'occasione di conoscere veramente come vivono gli abitanti delle Seychelles, niente di pre-confezionato per turisti, compreso il canto del gallo e gli uccellini.

Great place to stay on Mahe
First off, just want to say a big thank you to Chula, David, and Vivian for a great experience at Chez Lorna! They are great hosts and have an awesome place. It's very comfortable and the balcony view overlooks 4 islands, which is awesome. Rooms are great too, and the staff is very friendly. Chula is there to meet you at the front door and get you set up in no time, and he's always very helpful if you have any questions. And David, thanks again for the ride brother, appreciate you! Also, the location is great because it's close to the ferry jetty and is only a 5 minute bus ride (or 20 minute walk) from Victoria. Chez Lorna is definitely the place to stay if you're Mahe!

Friendly hosts. Nice views but quite steep to get too if you have heavy luggage bit hard. Not very clear about breakfast but had my own. Staff very helpful if you need instructions or extra dishes for room

We checked in but never got room cleaned.no click radio tv internet washing machine like it said online. Big roaches,come out at night.no sir but in bedroom.shower would not shut off.not close to anything. Owners were nice but never told us about the breakfast or anything about the island.

Great view. Lorna was the sweetest.
Bus line was convenient to Victoria town. So were taxi rides to and fro. Lovely place.

Quiet charming and friendly visit
Lorna and her team instantly made me feel like one of the family. This simple hide away was just what I needed. The room and facilities were very comfortable and clean. The quietness of the location had a special attraction to me. If you are looking for a very pleasant and calm experience then meet Lorna and experience what I am expressing. Lorna will make you a great breakfast each morning and provide suggestions to wherever and whatever you might want to experience. Lorna and her lovely daughter have given me three days of wonderful memories! Thank you Ladies!!

Wished we could have stayed longer...
Had a memorable one night stay at Chez Lorna. Lorna is very kind and welcoming. Her daughters are lovely too, arranging car hire for us very quickly for which we are very grateful.They are the perfect hosts. The room spotless and comfortable, the bathroom was amazingly decorated too. The views from the balcony are beautiful and sunrise was spectacular to watch. Thank you Lorna and daughters for making our short stay so special.
