We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel. The room was neat and good with all the amenities one would associate with an international class hotel. Breakfast spread was excellent, catering to Indian and western palates. Staff were courteous and professional and genuinely tried to assist. Overall, an excellent stay. Highly recommended.

The hand wash was mounted near the shower panel and shower gel was mounted on the washbasin in the bathroom. Ideally it should be other way round. Shower near swimming pool was not working.

Curteous, well mannered and eager to assist is how I would describe the staff. The property is nice re done in 2015 (as per the information shared with me), however the maintenance of the room (where we stayed) was a bit disappointing. The led tube light was not functioning, the drainage of the tub was blocked. However this should not negate the overall stay which was nice and pleasant. The breakfast spread was nice and so was the service, The wifi was excellent

What is the point in giving the room adjoining the Elevator which is undergoing complete overhaul when the guest has requested for a quieter room. The property was fine for a couple of nights we were there. You can tell this hotel used to be the best hotel in the city but it has been surpassed by more modern hotels. It feels a little dated.

We had a comfortable stay. Hotel was clean and well equipped. Staff at front desk and restaurant (buffet) were friendly and helpful, especially the two elderly staff at the restaurant. The breakfast menu was tasty and had good variety.

I run out of superlatives to describe Pandiyan. Simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in dozens. Friendly, comfortable, clean, lovely rooms, excellent buffets, lovely staff. Relaxing and very green in the bio sense.

Experience the real India, crowded, smelly and fab
The hotel is one of the best in the Madurai area but this is small city India and standards are different. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and very willing to help. Unfortunately we stayed at a 5 star hotel before we went there and that is tough competition for any 3 star. It is good value and the food was really good for vegetarians and vegans. Don't be put off, Madurai and its fantastic Temple are a must see when you come to Tamil Nadu.

This is one of the best restaurants one can stay in Madurai. In the last 6 years I have stayed multiple times whenever I come to India and each time my experience has been better than the previous stay. The staff is very humble, attentive, cordial and go above and beyond in servicing the customers. The food here is one of the best (Continental and Tamil style breakfast), so many varieties in the buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and all are enticing and loves the food. You will definitely enjoy the stay!!!

Bon séjour, personnel très agréable.
Très bel hôtel, personnel très attentif, chambres très agréables, classiques, Mais vue sur toits de l'hôtel sans pouvoir ouvrir la porte-fenêtre. Pas de balcon. Repas buffet varié et bons. Quartier éloigné, mais calme.

Everyone was very helpful but I reserved 2 rooms with 2 beds for 4 ladies and they only had one so they put in a cot in the second room. The chef at the restaurant went out of his way to make ala carte dishes to suit my tastes.

I was not informed at the time of booking on Expedia that breakfast was not included in the tariff. This was told to me while checking in. There was also a flier in the room which said that breakfast is included for all guests. Room and bathroom are neat and well maintained. Staff is curteous and enthusiastic. Buffet breakfast and dinner have a good spread and food is good. Wi-fi did not work well and we had difficulty in downloading videos received in whatsapp.

OK place for a one night stay
Need to have proper concierge, Madurai is a tourist town, there were no maps, everyone of the staff has different opinions of the temple timings, very chaotic, no hot water in the morning, a cold shower... Highly recommend to have a dedicated knowledgeable concierge with proper recommendations.

An old hotel getting older
Pandyan was one of the leading hotels in Madurai, now left behind by any new ones. The building needs proper maintenance - not seem to be happening. The restaurant staff seems to have no interest in maintaining the quality of service they used to have.

Clean, matter-of-fact hotel
No frills, matter-of-fact place. good to stay on routine business. Breakfast is good especially for South Indian items, and they make a good masala omelette. Some renovation work seems to be going on but it did not bother us at all.

Good place to chill out. Prefer a larger lobby .
Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Would have preferred a larger lobby to enable outside visitors to visit the guests of the hotel. There was hardly a lobby to sit and chill out , hence we were confined to the room only. But overall good, a central spot with a friendly staff. The guest toilet needs to be maintained well.
