The room was clean but the balcony could use a good cleaning. Full of spider webs and very dusty. This time of year (memorial day weekend) the area is swarming with Midges. They’re harmless but extremely annoying

I am the 4th Generation going up there in my family. and this is by far our favorite spot on mainland. The staff was amazing. They have 6 bonfires going on every night with s’mores! No other hotel around even cares. Plus the bridge view is great. Pack bug stray tho, Just a beautiful area. will return for sure.

The lakeside king jacuzzi suite with a patio is very nice. The bed is comfortable. I like the bonfires at night. The breakfast is great

Tons of bugs, inside and out. Tried to use the Jacuzzi but the hot water ran out long before getting the tub to the half full mark required to run it. No closet or armoire to hang coats, Tiny shower and TERRIBLE mattress on bed. Staff was very nice - can’t blame them for the issues

Positives: The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure to help accommodate our needs. It is located close to downtown Mackinaw. The view is amazing! We even saw the Northern Lights over the bridge! The rooms were clean, however, the painting of our room was kind of sloppy. Negatives: There was a slight sewage smell outside. Each night when we returned to the hotel our key cards would not work. Apparently other guests were having the same issue.

Mediocre hotel.
When we arrived at our building the hall smelled like burnt fish. Gladly the room though it was tiny did not smell. The windows were loaded with spiders so looking out them wasn’t very pleasant.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Room was spacious and had what I needed. The fire pit and s’mores were a really nice addition after a day of activities. Super close to the downtown area of Mackinaw City. Nice breakfast offerings. I would stay here again.

The room was clean, the lock on the front door did not lock properly and we found that the door was open after cleaning all day. When we returned we found the door cracked open and the room was full of knatts. they came in and tried to vacuum up the ones that were in the bathroom. Bad part was that we were fighting knatts all night.

Don't believe the good reviews
We chose this place because it had really good reviews for cleanliness which is extremely important to us. We checked in the lady was really nice we told her we picked this place because of the reviews. Upon walking into our room it smelled like straight mold in the face, the entire place. It looks nothing like the photos at all. There's not even a smoke detector in the room. You can see that it's been taken off the wall. Overall, we really regret making this choice because he wouldn't have spent this much money for a" clean hotel" supposedly to stay here. The bed was extremely firm and not comfortable. The bathroom is so small. You have to basically step in the shower or around the toilet to even shut the door. Overall, keep looking and try to read the bad reviews because I feel like this place has been pumped up with a bunch of good reviews that are not true. Breakfast was disgusting. If we had to do it again we would never stay here ever. Stains all over the bed sheets and comforter. Our car would have been a cleaner choice.

This was a last minute stay during an unseasonably warm Michigan week. This lovely inn (why it's called a motel is beyond me) is right on lake Huron with a view of the bridge. The lovely beach is part of their nightly bonfire/ s'mores get together. This place is very clean, rooms are bright and fresh and seems to be newly renovated. It was everything we hoped for and then some.
