Peace and quiet
My granddaughter and I needed time out. When I booked I had no idea where Mt Lyford was. We were a bit anxious after our drive up to the office but once we arrived at our accommodation it was WOW. It was so lovely and warm, quiet except for the bellbirds and the big bumble bees that came visiting. The bed was comfortable and the other facilities were great. Mt Lyford Lodge also put on a beautiful dinner . The people were so friendly and welcoming. I would certainly visit again but for a longer stay.

Absolutely Stunning!!
From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. Not only an absolutely beautiful setting, so quiet and secluded, but the whole check-in process was super easy and hassle free. Great communication with Claudine from the get-go, with easy to understand instructions. Everything is there and the ammenities were so clean and well-appointed. The hut was so cosy and having the hot tub to ourselves was a neat wee bonus, and again, very easy to use. Thank you for a fabulous stay, we'll be back!

Cute little hut
Had everything we needed for a lovely stop over. We were lucky to have the fog and rain from the evening gone before we woke up in the morning so we had a view of the mountains.

Great but nearly lost my eyebrows
Fantastic except the host needs to demonstrate how to turn the gas on for the tub. Instructions aren't clear and I had a big dangerous explosion in my face when turning it on, altho I followed instructions by having a flame ready before I turned the gas on and pulled the burner out a bit. Also the 'flame' Lighter was difficult to find, didnt know what I was looking for. The tub also took a very long time to heat up. The office was difficult to find, its far from the pods. But still a great place.

Excellent stay in a beautiful location
Beautiful accomodation with amazing views. Claudine was a great host with excellent communication. Everything was clean and tidy. We also booked the hot tub and this was really nice, you can control your own temperature and you have the best views. Highly recommend this place.

Feb '22 stay
My partner and I stayed here for a night away from town as part of our anniversary. We found the place clean and tidy, and adequately supplied with kitchen utensils etc for our stay and needs. The hot tub was definitely one of the highlights of the stay! Even if enjoyed in the rain. The cabin bedroom(s) are very small... not a lot of extra storage space for bags etc. Suggest that you 'insert' a small pillow in the small window frame above the bed, as the light coming in through this in the morning was light enough to wake me up! The cabins are cute and cosy, and as only us there, had the main kitchen room to ourselves, so felt we could stretch out a bit more - might not have felt so "open" had we had to share that space with others. Needed the door handle/ knob fixing as came off in hand! And does make it tricky with no cell coverage for queries. Was a bit frustrated at some confusion around getting keys/where they were initially, but got there. Overall, can recommend 🙂

Gorgeous Spot
We had the best night away, it was so nice to be off the grid with no cell reception or WiFi. Such a gorgeous wee hut and the hot tub was amazing sitting under the stars. Highly recommend and can't wait to do it again!

Perfect spot for peace and quiet surrounded by nature and mountains
Two huts on a mountain with a perfect view of Mt. Lyford. Facilities are perfect and all that you need. The huts are small and cozy and we slept extremely well in the warm beds and the fresh air. The host Claudine is also very helpfull and provided us all the info we needed about the area. I can highly recommend trying out these huts by Mt. Lyford

Lovely getaway in pretty countryside. Very comfortable, cute sleeping hut with well-equiped, shared kitchen and bathroom cabin. Friendly, helpful owners/managers. Book the hot tub too if you can and enjoy a soak under the stars.

Absolutely amazing stay
We enjoyed the secluded feeling, while being reasonably close to Kaikoura and Hamner Springs. We got lucky and didn't have to share the facilities. What a pleasure it was to stay here and enjoy that amazing view in the morning! Thanks Claudine for letting us stay in one of your beautiful and cosy huts!
