Lovely apartment! Bonus being on ground floor. Near to all amenities- cafes shops and restaurants. Approximately 15 min walk to train station. Full kitchen but we ate out so only used for drinks. Would definitely stay again if we return to Lucca.

Beautiful property, so-so location

Overall, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from staying here, but there is a caveat. We thought that the property was beautiful and comfortable. However, it is on a busy and noisy street which absolutely impacted our rest. However, it is in a very walkable location and it is on the ground floor (and after 10 other stays on floors as high as the 4th, having no stairs was greatly appreciated). It also didn't have some of the other provisions that our other properties provided (like coffee, papertowels, napkins) but obviously you can get those things from a local store. So just depends on what is most important to you.

Nice comfortable apartment in good location.

Nice comfortable apartment in good location. A little surprised to have to pay for electricity In addition to cost of apartment which as far as I was was not advised at time of booking. Only aware of this charge two weeks prior to arrival. Only a small criticism on the bedding and towels provided. Nothing matched and towels appeared old and could do with replacing. Otherwise a nice traditional apartment.

Elegant, Spacious Living in Lucca

Two bedrooms with ensuite baths, huge living room with comfy sofas and a real kitchen with good appliances, all on lovely via San Giorgio, with uncomplicated access to trains, buses, and Porta Santa Maria for car drop-off. We lost wifi once and Chiara arrived within 15 minutes to solve it. And it's dangerously near the Giusti bakery on via Santa Lucia, where they make the best focaccia and cantuccini.

Fantastic Apartment

Loved everything about this apartment, great location to everything you need within the walled city, beautiful spacious rooms. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms and living area. Great value for money, suits a family really well. Don’t look any further you’ve found the perfect spot for your holiday in Lucca!

Great home in Lucca and Sonia was the perfect host

What a wonderful experience to enjoy the beauty of Tuscany at this picturesque apartment! The stay at the apartment was exceptional and second to none. The interiors and the decor was spectacular! We received 5 star service from all the staff of Mrs Sonia and the apartment provided us an opportunity to explore the wonders of Tuscany including Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Vinci. We enjoyed your special welcome. Wifi was reliable and the apartment was immaculate and clean. We will long remember the precious time we spent with those we met and the wonderful experience we encountered during our stay. Best wishes!

Very disappointing accommodation in Lucca

On arrival the WiFi was not working this took some hours to be sorted. Then on closer inspection property dirty and ill equipped for a 4 adult stay i.e. 1 cracked wine glass and 2 tea spoons, kitchen cupboards dirty and filled with rubbish. The washing machine did not work and also the tumble dryer so no way to wash towels/ tea towels (only 1 set per couple) or sheets and clothes. These had been part of the amenities advertised for the apartment one would presume them to in working order!! No information on the most important thing of how to reset electricity fuse box when the power tripped (common in Italy) we had to find it ourselves which wasn’t easy or safe to do. Some of the rooms had bulbs not working and had to report to get replacements and we were left to replace (a health and safety issue as we were senior citizens) the second bathroom had a shower problem as bracket was broken this was reported on the second day of holiday and Sonia choose to ignore this. Bidet in main bathroom was cracked and no clear instructions left out for recycling. We have been coming to Lucca for up to ten years to holiday and have to say this was the most DISAPPOINTED holiday accommodation we’ve had to stop in. So we shall not be using the services of Mrs Sonia again. A far cry from romantic apartment that was advertised! D & G Cloak and A & J Mc Carthy

Fabulous apartment in a great location

We have just spent 4 nights in your lovely apartment . It’s in a great location ,easy to walk to everything and the air con is a god send . The info book is very useful- just to note we went to the market in Port Eliza , it’s not there anymore it is now much closer to the apartment !! We walked 3 miles round trip in blistering heat to find that out 🙈 We were interested in your restaurant recommendations but found them difficult to locate so addresses would be useful to google map. We really enjoyed our time here and loved the music festival We will be back it’s a fantastic apartment

Great location in a large, comfortable apartment

My husband, sister, brother in law, and I spent 2 weeks in this lovely apartment. It was very conveniently located- within easy walking distance to the supermarket, great restaurants, and the train station. And, being ground level, we didn't have to haul bags up the stairs! The weather was unusually cold and rainy, and in accordance with town ordinances, the heat was off for the season. When we contacted Mrs. Sonia to tell her that we were very chilly, she responded within minutes to let us know how to turn on the thermostats. The only negative was that we could never get the dryer to work. Maybe post instructions in other languages? Overall, an awesome vacation!

Great location, pretty apartment

Lucca is a small city so it is easy to walk around. The apartment was in a good location and very comfortable. The furniture was elegant and Mrs. Sonia was very helpful. Though the towels could be newer and some of the light bulbs replaced, I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Lovely apartment in good location just away from the action

The apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed for a ten night stay with two adults two children in peak summer(easy acccess, washing machine, air con, separate bathrooms etc). Parking at don baroni was short walk so not a problem before/after a day out. Bakery close to the apartment was very good and reasonable. Minimart close also and enough gelatarias (our favourite was gelato di pieri I think on via Roma by via filungo) and restaurants to keep you busy for a while. Lucca is a beautiful place to visit and/or use as a base and the apartment is conveniently placed and makes you feel very much at home and part of the city

Lovely home with History

Lucca is a beautiful city. Sonia was very welcoming. Our apartment was charming and close to everything. cappuccinos and croissants just around the corner. Lovely restaurants, Boheme, Leo. Chocolate stores with treats. Small grocery stores and lovely cheeses and wines to buy. A little pad for the bed would be nice, it was very firm. This is a quieter time to come with less crowds. Will be back again.

Beautiful Property with a convenient location

Sonia was a joy to work with, and was very accommodating. The property was exactly as depicted in photos and descriptions were extremely accurate. The kitchen was large and easily accommodated six for dinner, and the additional bathroom was convenient for guests. The location was very near the main shopping street "Via Fillungo" and quite near many fine restaurants and the grocery store. We would recommend this property and would definitely book it again on any future trips to Lucca.

Lucca apartment

A thoroughly enjoyable 6-night stay. Apartment had every amenity we needed. Moreover, it was conveniently located and within easy walking distance of great restaurants and the porta we used to meet shuttles and buses for day trips. And the property manager, Mrs. Sonia, was easy to work with. Two Thumbs, as Siskell and Ebert used to say.

Poor and would not go back to this place again

I loved Lucca and will go back. This was my first home away experience. I was with Matz Peretz family who also was there in a gorgeous place that ms Sonia had rented them. Mine regrettably was quite flawed. No Ac but fir one room and I mentioned it day one to the gal who met me there and she denied nicely that fact so the heat was awful but for one bedroom which was marginal but doable. Next not one glass in kitchen but since I could stay in any room due to the heat I managed. Was never going to use the room. The dryer did not work and despite an email to that effect by Jesse Matz who tried to help me by writing we heard nothing so no clothes were not washed. While maybe it worked I needed a lesson on how not just to be told that it was a dryer and a washer as it was way more complicated than USA. The good news is while spending most of my waking time at Matz Peretz place I came to understand it was possible to have very decent modern housing which is the only kind I would be interested in. So in short I did not feel that this place had done the right job at all and concluded they should remove it fix the Ac the dryer provide glasses and consider washing the stone floor which was dirty and required feet washing whenever I walked across is barefooted. I am glad to be able to share this and believe that if ms Sonia did these things it would have been fine. I still want better but it would have worked

This apartment is nearly perfect

We spent a month here. The apartment is in an excellent location inside the Lucca town walls near shopping, restaurants etc. The rooms are quite large and bright with window shutters you can close to keep out the light if desired. We had been traveling with 3 kids for 2 months prior to our arrival here so having 3 bathrooms and a separate laundry room with a dryer was an absolute luxury. The king size bed in the en-suite master was comfortable. (It could be made more so with the addition of a mattress cover. It was made up for us with just a sheet and you could feel the plastic mattress ties through it.) There was plenty of room in this bedroom for a bed for our littlest and good storage space so we could unpack and feel at home. The bathroom is large with a window ledge for your toiletries. The living room is large and comfortable as is the kitchen. There were however only enough forks and spoons for one meal for the 5 of us. Unless we filled up the dishwasher, we ended up washing utensils. There are multiple tables and chairs in the apartment which was great for us since we were homeschooling the kids on this trip. The bikes provided are the same as those used by the locals. In other words, they squeak but get you where you're going. We had a blast cruising the town and the walls on bike. My husband rode to the larger Esselunga grocery store just outside the walls regularly. We rented a bike for our 8 year old since these are adult bikes. The kind folks at the bike shop also inflated the tires on these bikes for us. There was a child seat available for use with an adult bike too. It seemed too small for our 2.75 year old so we rented a larger one of those as well from the bike shop. We stayed in winter (month of November) so the apartment got chilly at night. When we arrived, we were told we would need to pay for our gas usage. Our Italian friends told us gas is very expensive so we tried to keep our usage minimal. However, there were a few nights that the heat was required. It seemed we spent about 25 euro per night for that gas usage. We loved staying here. It was very comfortable for a family of 5. The water heater went out on two occasions but the management and owners were responsive in getting the plumber in to fix it.
