The property great! We stayed on the adult side with the swim out and everything was top notch. The only downside was the food. The food was 5/10 at best. However, there are great restaurants near the area some within walking distance. Special shout out to Serth, JoJo, and of course Smiley!! Thanks for the awesome stay!

I would not rate this as a 5 star facility. It was very nice, but had I paid the in season price, it would not have been worth it. The meals at Azul were good. We did not care for the buffet. As far as staff, like anywhere you stay, most were very friendly but not all. The proximity to Mullet Bat Beach was nice. A 2 minute cab ride or 10 minute walk was definitely worth it. All things considered, we would stay here again.

The hotel was breathtaking. The swim out room was marvelous. They did have an issue with the hot water boiler so we had cold water for a day and a half. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful.

Property has construction in all halls, loud and dirty all day 8a-6p working. Employees had physical altercation 4/23 @10am in hallway and management did not handle situation. Maid and food service were physically fighting. The cold water pump broke and scald during shower due to the construction. The AC and all power is off from 2am-6 from the construction also. My husband got sick from the Tuna tartare being improperly handled. I wish I could give this resort a better review as it was our honeymoon and we were so Excited to stay here. Management was notified but offered only an apology and no compensation or rectification of these issues. Word to the wise, spend your vacation and money elsewhere; stay at Divi, friendly staff, better area,

We had an amazing stay at Sonesta Ocean Resort! Beautiful resort with amazing views and staff! The food was sooo good too and I usually am not fond of all inclusive food. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Diane & Frank! They became like family during our stay and deserve ALL of the accolades! Only suggestion: BRING CASH! The ATM at the resort casino was out of order the entire time and there’s no other close one within walking distance. We had to be driven to one. You’re gonna need cash for tips and taxis (they only take cash). Otherwise, kudos to sonesta! We’ll be back :)

Great dining, especially for dinner..be sure to visit Azul, best meal we had! All the pools were great, just wish the adults side had a more lively environment at any of the pools, they barely had music. Our room was pretty basic, but did the trick...loved the balcony view though!

It is a beautiful resort located on a cliff. The beach was very small. It was shared with another resort and a public beach. There was a larger beautiful beach within a 15 minute walk. It was unique in that it was right next to the airport, so a little noisy and yet amazing to see the planes so close. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We were happy we were in the Adult only area because we had more pools, restaurant choices and not as crowded. I enjoyed two massages at their spa. The spa was wonderful, clean and a lot of different services. There was a small shopping area right next door. It is a beautiful island. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We are use to the big name resorts so we were a bit worried that it would not meet our expectations but we had fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they are such nice people. The staff service was defiantly very good. The room was acceptable. The room can defiantly use some updates. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We had a swim out room which we used more than we thought. The all inclusive was worth it for us. The drink selection at the bar is decent but if you ask for better bottle they might have it. They had the good stuff under the cabinet. The restaurant selection was good. Azul restaurant was our favorite. Food room service was better that we thought. You can also order room service from the restaurants that are available which we enjoyed some nights. Its a bit on the quiet side which we are not used to, but we did appreciate. Because its not so crowded the service was better and faster than you would receive at a large resorts. So in conclusion we had fun and enjoyed our time at the hotel. Its unique and have to enjoy it for what it is.

As far as all inclusive’s go the property is beautiful and well maintained. Good location , however this was a daily sewer odor walking down the way to the hotel The food was good for breakfast , the hamburgers were terrible and we ate dinner out most evenings ! Azul was by far the best restaurant and location. Would consider going back again but not in a rush

Amazing Stay and a Place to Return
Overall we had an amazing, relaxing, restorative getaway here, and would come back in an instant. Every meal we had, the servers were attentive and an absolute delight. The food was delicious. The bartenders mix some wonderful cocktails every time. The rooms were large, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Maybe it's something about being in a gorgeous location and letting our worries slip away, but we fell asleep and slept well every night. The pools were well maintained, clean, and there were staff cleaning up and keeping the space looking sharp. The only negative was our experience with the front desk. Now, the Front Desk staff were AMAZING and our interactions with them superb. The issue was that it always seemed there was never someone at the front desk. We had gone done to the front a few times, and it was always a wait. We could hear people behind in the office, but it would always take far longer than I'd imagine to come up. The other issue was while they took our bags to delivery to our room, we ended up having to go down to the front desk to get our bags as they weren't up to the room in time to wash up for dinner. Not a major issue, but definitely one that I wouldn't have expected of a resort of this caliber and at this price point. I'd come back again in a heartbeat and deal with that one issue because we enjoyed ourselves so much!

They would not recognize our Expedia inline reservation as their reservation person went home before the Expedia ‘drop’. Made me wait 2 hours in the lobby until they agreed to rent 2 other rooms for full price on reserve credit card until next day when they finally figured out that they had received the Expedia reservation. Needlessly confusing and disappointing after a stressful day including a flight cancellation.
