The bed in the room was so hard that my wife and I got very very little sleep. We are not old or out of shape, and that bed had us both in pain all night long.
With 4 kids in our home, we very very rarely get a chance to go anywhere. However, I had $81 in points, so we decided to take one night for ourselves.
We live 3 hours north of Los Gatos, but we love the town. It’s peaceful and quiet, and our primary goal on these rare and short trips is to catch up on much needed sleep and relaxation so Los Gatos is great. Toll House came recommended on Hotels.com, so we decided to use my HARD EARNED points to get a nice room and relax together before coming home to our stressful environment. We are both more exhausted than when we left. It feels like we wasted our one chance this year to get away on a cheap, hard bed. The hotel is nice, the room was acceptable, but the most important thing, the bed, was beyond bad.
By the way, my wife and I own a mattress store, so we know a cheap spring mattress when we feel one. I will never stay there again, and I’m not even sure if I will books through hotels.com again. The reward point system was degraded to a worse program. It takes forever to earn enough points to matter, and then you can just waste those hard earned points on bad stays.
