Not the greatest
The venue was chosen for a family wedding. Most people stayed the night before and the night of wedding. Right from check-inn, through bar service, and frankly anything else related to guest services, the was an air of self importance in the staff, assertive is one thing, rudeness is quite another, I would say very much borderline and perhaps some misguided feeling of superiority is present. Every single staff member seems to be trained to blurt out an instruction and walk away, leaving no ability to challenge or seek explanation. I would certainly never visit this hotel as a leisure guest.

The property was lovely and warm, clean and the staff made me very welcome. I arrived too late to have dinner but the breakfast was lovely in the morning. If I was in the area I would most definately stay there again.

Not a great hotel
Booked hotel with breakfast and was told that I hadn’t even though money was taken out of my account. Very rude on checkout with bangs on the door 4 mins after checkout telling us we need to leave immediately.

We are sorry to hear of your negative review, but late check outs by guests, which should incur late check out fees, were waived by the hotel, even though you were late checking out. Guests checking out late prevent us from ensuring rooms are ready for check in guests arrival .

Hotel was immaculate the only problem we encountered was the walk in shower needs a grab rail on for getting in and out of shower. Otherwise hotel was great for overnight rest

Very nice
Lovely hotel and a lovely building. Very quiet when i stayed there so no food or bar open but that was OK for me. I had a lovely room, directly over the entrance and featured in the room pictures.

Dated, food excellent.
Ideal stopping point en route to highlands but very run down. Thin walls so you can hear next room. We did not get a good sleep because next door had a radio and tv on. The build is very old and they have done as much as possible but limited. Bathroom door did not close. The food options and taste was delicious. The breakfast was really good too. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There is no lift.

Everything was fine apart from the heating being on in the halls whilst it was 29 degrees outside but apart from that, everything was spot on.

The room was nice the condition of the bathroom less nice the floor and the grouting around the bath looked like a child had done this work. had a meal the staff were great and the food was amazing good stay

Not for me.
Wouldn’t stay again. Hotel situated at the side of the motorway so it’s noisy, considering it was only 12 degrees outside the room felt about 30. Two single beds pushed together for a queen size, one more comfy than the other, and then theannoying split down the middle. The restaurant closes about 8 so missed dinner, the local town is god awful, everything closed down and looks baron.

SURE HOTEL thumbs down
The owner who was on desk duty was very arrogant and unhelpful. The staff made up for the owners arrogance. They were brilliant. The bedroom was nothing like their photo. Very small outdated, no drawers to put ones clothes in, just enough space to hang a few coats and dresses up. Bathroom out of date. floor tiles coming away from floor, shower over bath with a cheap curtain across it. No hand rail to get in/out of bath/shower. Paint flaking of radiators and a massive crack on bedroom ceiling covered with wallpaper. At £90 per night not a good advertisement for BEST WESTERN. Wouldn't recommend SURE HOTEL.

Poor service great premises
Manager was rude to his staff and guests .I stay away for work 2-3 times a week and bank on hospitality ..I was embarrassed for the people he was offending. I don’t leave comments as a rule but I felt like I had to to warn people of the poor service… hotel was great just the manager(owner as he liked to be called)

Great location for stopover
Great location, just off motorway. Lovely staff, very friendly. Good breakfast, not huge, but enough. Only negative, room was very warm and had to open all windows during the night and you could hear traffic noise, (there is also a a fan in the room which we used aswell) but wouldn’t stop me staying again.

The room was very tiny, there was barely space on one side of the bed to walk next to it. The bathroom was not clean and the shower was very antiquated and hard to use. There was no shelf space for toiletries. The bathtub was super high and hard to step in and out of. In the guest room there was very little space for clothing. There was no dresser or chest of drawers. There was an open closet area that had hangers that were actually too high to reach. Things weren't set out properly.

It was very convenient to the M74 motorway on which we were travelling. It also had a very pleasant restaurant. It was, however, very remote from the other facilities in the town of Lockerbie. it

Brilliant friendly welcome. We booked last minute but everything was ready when we arrived. Fantastic room. Comfy bed. Big bathroom and bath. Breakfast was amazing and we went away with full tummies well tested and happy. Totally recommended.

Ok for one night
A pleasant enough hotel, obviously recently refurbished. Some delay at registration as no one was available to check us in but a waitress was helpful in finding us somewhere to sit. Room was small. Evening food and breakfast ok. Alright for a night but possibly wouldnt stay longer.

Generally OK if the price is right. The hotel looks freshly renovated. The check in was chaotic. Our room heated by kitchen, which meant we had to have the windows open all night which let all the road noise in during the night and all the kitchen noise to wake us up when they opened for breakfast. Room number 10 should be heavily discounted or converted to broom cupboard.
