Avslappende ferie i fine omgivelser
Veldig fint hotell som ligger nærme sentrum av Cascais. Både utendørs og innendørs basseng, nydelig frokost og hyggelig betjening.

Min beste anbefaling
Dette var et opphold langt over mine forventninger. Fantastisk beliggenhet svært vakkert bygget inn i en gammel festning.med god kunst både ute og inne. Hyggelig gåavstand til sentrum. Utsikt over marinaen og Atlanterhavet .Gode restauranter Både i hotellet og kort avstand fra hotellet. Deilig innendørs basseng.flott Spa avdeling og tilslutt en meget god og rikholdig frokost. Smilende service innstilte ansatte. Et opphold som frister til gjentagelse.

Midt i byen, fantastisk frokost.
Hotellet ligger midt i smørøyet med alt i gåavstand. Betjeningen på hotellet er serviceminded og frokosten var helt fantastisk. Langt på vei det beste jeg har prøvd i Norge. Trimrommet var svært lite, men heldigvis var jeg alene der begge dagene.

Veldig sentralt, pent hotel, lekre rom, gode senger, flott utsikt over marina fra restauranten. Lite utendørs basseng, savnet omelettkokk til frokost.

Fint hotell med bra beliggenheit
Hotellet framstod som ryddigt og fint. Personalet var hyggelege og hjelpsame. Romma var små, med to enkeltsenger som var satt saman, heilt greie rom. Restauranten som var på plassen utfor hotellet var veldig bra! Beliggenheiten til hotellet var også bra, ca. 3-4 min å gå til sentrum og ca. 10 min til togstasjonen. Frukosten var veldig bra!

Historie i veggene
Flott beliggenhet i den gamle borgen. Nydelig mat og flott service fra all betjening. Lite bassengområde (kun innendørs) og lite solingsområde. Området på taket kunne hatt parasoller. "Dobbeltsenger" som egentlig var to enkeltsenger.

Fantastisk hotell og beliggenhet i Cascais
Flott hotell i det gamle citadellet i Cascais. Alt er topp renovert og nennsomt bygget inn i citadellet fra 14-15tallet som stort sett er restaurert og bevart. Bra med restauranter og fasiliteter, ligger like ved marinaen i Cascais, og det er en kjellerutgang og port ut mot marinaen som åpner med romnøkkelen. Perfekt om du er her med egen båt. Flere gode restauranter og barer på marinaen. Meget godt hotell som er priset meget gunstig.

Flott hotell med topp service, likevel ......
Veldig spesielt hotell beliggende inne i gammel borg, svært sentralt i Cascais. Hotellet er perfekt på det meste, likevel vil vi si at vi synes det var merkelig med svømmebassenget inni frokost/lusjrestauranten. Ikke så bra om det er mange badende mens andre spiser, man føler seg heller ikke vel med å gå i badetøy og svømme inne i en restaurant ! Ganske få solstoler kan også fort bli et minus. Selve rommet var perfekt med gode senger og deilig sengetøy/puter/dyner noe som er skjelden i Syd Europa. Derimot synes vi det er et stort minus at de fleste ikke har balkong, det føles fort inneklemt og mørkt. Av disse årsaker er vi usikre om vi vil velge å bo der igjen. Men service var topp, frokost lekker med muserende vin innkludert, og alt var svært moderne og delikat, kanskje LITT for minimalistisk noen steder.. Noen blomster ute feks. ville ha myket opp og skapt et vennligere inntrykk.

Flott hotell med førsteklasses service
Hotellet ligger ett par hundre meter unna Cascais' shopping- og utelivs-sentrum, innenfor de restaurerte murene av byens gamle festning. Dette gir bokstavelig talt en buffer mot turistfyll og annen støy, dersom du er ønsker å prioritere nattesøvnen. Den beste egenskapen til hotellet er nivået på de ansattes service. Jeg er rett og slett veldig imponert, har aldri følt meg så velkommen på ett hotell noen gang, alle mine spørsmål ble besvart raskt og korrekt på utmerket engelsk. Slik hjelpsomhet er verdifull i og med at man slipper å bruke tid på å besøke turistkontoret. Blant de få negative tingene var: irriterende avgift på 5 EUR / døgn for bruk av trådløst nett, de bør bare droppe avgiften og øke romprisen littegrann. Dessuten var dynene for tykke og varme for sommersesongen, så det var fort gjort å våkne i en svettepøl. Gymrommet til hotellet holder overhode ikke mål for styrketrening og fitness, hvis du er en dreven og krevende mosjonist, men heldigvis er dette ok fitness-senter ca. 10 minutter unna.

The calm spaces within the hotel, the friendly staff and the whole art atmosphere. I like the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the marina and also the outside pool.

This is an amazing property built within a fortress and palace of the late King of Portugal. The rooms, facing a beautiful view of the water, look onto a marina with shops and restaurants. During the evening DJ music can be heard from the marina up to 2 am which can affect sleeping conditions. There are two very nice pools which added a lot of value to my experience. The outdoor pool is a bit of walk up some stairs but the ocean and grassy area around the pool is very nice. Unfortunately, there was no pool services outdoors where used towels and dishware sat. It was hard to find a clean towel. As a five star property , I expected the bed comfort to match the rating. Unfortunately, it did not. The mattress was soft and bouncy and needed replacement. My back hurt getting up every morning and that affected my overall experience. The hotel provides a wide array of food for breakfast including fresh squeezed juices, made to order coffee drinks, pastries , breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables and made to order eggs and omelettes. As a gluten free eater, there was no pastries to choose from and the small amount of bread they provided was packaged in plastic and not very good. I really enjoyed the location being close to town but away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy town of Cascais. There is a very nice walking and biking path from the hotel that overlooks the ocean. The art district that surrounds the hotel adds a lot of value and interest to the property.

Overall good location. We had a room with the window to the Marina. Time by time the music was little bit loud so that you could here it in the room. Not a big problem but in case of a five star you would expect more comfort.

40 minute commuter train ride to Lisbon. Great option if you want to stay in a quieter place than Lisbon. Hotel is in an old citadel. Short walk to Cascais and dining.

Excellent hotel in the museum quarter. All the best sights are within easy walking distance. Don’t miss the Palácio de Cidadela in the square, but tours are limited so you need to book. The hotel gave us a 24 hour museum voucher with access to 13 places, which included the Palácio. This will save you quite a lot of money, although you’ll need to prioritise! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Everything was delightfully well-run in an understated way. Super comfy beds, cleanliness impeccable and the best breakfasts in the dining room overlooking the marina! Very relaxing, we loved every minute.

Unmatched location
Best location in Cascais with views of the marina. Bed was very comfy and the room had everything we needed. The hotel layout is strange but that is due to the restrictions of the fort walls - it was a long walk to breakfast! But breakfast was good compared to other hotel breakfasts I’ve had in Portugal.

Fine, but….
Generally the stay was fine, great location, nice surroundings and fantastic breakfast. What was not so great was the red stained quilt (pictured) which apparently was OK for the hotel as nothing happened despite saying it directly to the receptionist. And as nothing happened I also sent a mail with no response at all.

A real unique hotel
My partner and I stayed 3 nights here as a base to visit Sintra. Overall we had a really pleasant stay. The property is built inside of an old fort and the different areas of the hotel are from various eras of construction - there is a small color coded map in the lobby that explains all of this. Honestly I think they downplay the history of the site and buildings, which is a bit of a shame. I would have loved if more info had been included in the room and around the property to explain some of the history. Most things you could want in Cascais are a short walk away and the galleries around the hotel courtyard were nice to visit. The breakfast buffet has a good selection to appeal to just about everyone but can be a little chaotic depending on the day and time. The pool is small and a bit of a challenge to find. Overall the signage around the property is a little lacking - it wasn't uncommon to see people getting lost trying to find their rooms.

The location is excellent, the fact that it's open to the public can sometimes be an issue. The staff are actually too "helpful" it's not easy to have a quiet moment in the room
