Our unit is a privately owned hotel room located in the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa.

This is a serine second floor unit with 2 Queen beds and a view of the park and partial ocean view from the balcony. New flooring was just installed in the unit!!

The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard!

• 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool.
• Two whirlpool spas, one amidst a stone grotto and surrounded by lush ferns and an exotic waterfall.

• Poolside Driftwood Bar and Grill
• Free Wi-Fi access in lobby, restaurants, and the pool areas.
• Hawaiian Rainforest Boutique Spa offering sauna, spa treatments, massages ect.
• Activities and tour desk.
• Hertz car rental agency on-site..
• ATM, ice machines, purified water machines and vending machines.
• Fitness room
• Business center with computer.
• Fridge for your food, soda, wine, etc.
• In room, blow dryer, ironing board.
• There is a coffee maker in the room. (please bring the coffee and supplies you will need for the length of your stay) We will provide a starter pack for you.
There is also a Starbucks on site.
• 4 sets of bath and hand towels will be in the unit

November 2025 Update

Please note that the resort will be undergoing lobby renovations through Spring 2026. During this period, check-in will take place in the ballroom. The Outrigger team is committed to ensuring a positive experience for all guests and appreciates your understanding during these improvements.

The Naupaka Terrace restaurant and Driftwood Bar & Grill (poolside) will remain open and available to serve you.

• $40/day parking fee paid directly to Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICY
• Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 11:00 AM.
Check in procedure:
Simply check in at the front desk with your name and booking info.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
• Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay.
If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning.

As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa.

By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $35 per day resort fee charged by the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay.

FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM?
Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT
The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay.

DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN?
No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms.

ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT?
No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests.
WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE?
The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming.

SHOULD I GET A CAR?
We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental.

IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT?
No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which make taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island!

ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH?
Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels.

DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE?
Private owner guests are NOT required to pay the $35 daily resort fee.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE?
Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40/day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE?
YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. The signal extends into the lobby, restaurants, bars and in the pool area!

DOES THE UNIT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?
Yes. The unit has central A/C.

The only issue was the walk to the room. Taking different elevators to get to our floor was a little inconvenient. We were there for business so coming in late and walking all around the hotel was exhausting. But other than that our stay was amazing. Very quiet and would stay again in the future.

Very Good resort excellent location

The resort is well keep with good restaurants on the property . Room location is good wit nice view of plantation and ocean view . Enjoyed view of sunrise. Beach is few steps away to beach. One major negative is does not have basic amenities of mircowave / kitchenette in room. Towel service is at extra cost.

The price was reasonable. However, some things needed: 1. Hot water in the shower lasted less than 5 minutes. 2. Fix the other jacuzzi 3. Fix the water slide 4. Pickup trash near the trash bin by the beach

We liked the location, resort was centrally located to excursions and beaches. The pool and spa area was just ok. When I originally booked I was unaware that the property was independently own and what few amenities we would have for our stay which included house keeping and towel service which would of came with an additional charge. In addition our room had a strong odor of mildew including the pillows and bedding.

Kauai Beach Resort

Not a pleasant experience. Had to change rooms twice in 4 days. First 2 rooms felt like cheap motel rooms. Everything could be heard outside the door. Second room had drilling and construction right outside the room. The power was cut and the safe broke. Both rooms had bathroom doors that did not lock. Overall, we are very annoyed. Received a voucher for breakfast (which was awesome) but wasted half a day with second move. Extremely dissatisfied.

Good place

The room is just as in the pictured, pretty spacious, clean, close to the airport and convenient to go places around the island! Our son loved the pools even though the one with the slide was out of order which was a bit of a bummer but has nothing to do with the accommodation.

Amenities are excellent. Pools are good. However, the unit condition is not ideal. Light bulb is out, carpet is dirty, Tv is outdated, mosquito is flying inside the unit. Since this is a condotel, we have limited support from the hotel itself. For example, we cannot rent any pool toys or gears via hotel.

Loved our stay on Kauai! This location was great to get to both sides of island. Initial reservation change due to unit renovations, so view was lackluster, but we were busy exploring, so not a big issue. Staff at resort very nice.

I understand that most (if not all) of the rooms are owned by individuals. We rented ours through VRBO. What a mistake! The carpet in our room was badly stained, as if previous renters had dogs that were not housebroken. Also, the screen door was very difficult to move because it was rusted and broken out at the bottom. The walls are incredibly thin, meaning that if you are either an early to bed person or a late riser you will find it hard to sleep due to the noise in the hallway and rooms next door. When we contacted the people who managed the room, they gave us a freer towel exchange as compensation. Big Whoop! The front desk was unable to help us because then room was booked through VRBO. Also, if you want to swim in the ocean, the beach here is not a swimming beach…very rocky and dangerous. I would NEVER book a stay at this “resort” again. There are many places to stay on Kauai, so I advise people to research before booking.

The property was beautiful. It was nice right on the ocean and plenty of pools to swim in. Bar and restaurant was open late compared to other places in town. The room we were in was outdated and needed new carpet and furniture.

Great place

Cleaning and well appointed bedroom for 4 people in a relax resort with beautiful pools and good restaurants. Beach is beautiful but because of shallow rock reef near the shore is not recommeded for swimming. It did not bother our stay since we looked for surfing beach outside the resort. So we used the resort as our base to explore this beautiful island. I would come back and recommend it. Great host, good communication and complimentary mid-week sheet and towel change.

The place is excellent, however a lot of construction/renovations happening on the better part of the building. Don’t look at the entrance door folds as there is metal rust… for most part, the room needs upgrade. Nevertheless, for what one pays, can’t complain either. Can I book it again… oh yes!

This condo within the resort is in a wonderful location- private and quiet with a lovely view of the ocean from the lanai and a large grassy area outside. I sat out there for hours! All the access of a resort guest - except housekeeping and room charging, at a fraction of the cost. Awesome pools and bar- good food and music. We love this area of the island- lots of dining options right in Kapaa or Lihue and you have easy driving north and south. Loved it!

Had a lovely stay in Kauai beach resort. My only issue was that sometimes there wasn’t any hot water due to the whole property being powered by one water heater. Other than that everything was great!

Great Location, No Hotel Services

I've stayed at many VRBO's over the year and on Kauai. I will say that this is in a great location, close to the airport in and between the north and south coasts, if you are looking to travel between the two. This is a privately owned condo that is part of a hotel. The hotel is nice with a great pool, beach isn't really swimmable or a place you will want to spend much time. Our one complaint is that because this unit is not technically part of the hotel, you do not get maid service and after a week in a humid climate we really missed having this. We were told we aren't even able to switch out the towels mid week unless we called the property manager to put in a request for us. They do reply quickly if you have any issues but it felt weird to be in a hotel where the hotel doesn't provide the normal services.
