A nice stay in Lerwick
A nice hotel. Good location; lovely view to the ocean and a short walk from town. If you’re lucky you’ll get a room with a view. I didn’t and felt a bit stocked away at the bottom back. The bed not very comfortable. Good breakfast, though a little boring. But all in all I think this is a good place to stay in Lerwick and would choose it again.

Food fantastic, staff super, rooms rotten ..
Rooms 20 years out-of-date, but fantastic food! We stay in a lot of hotels, and these rooms are extremely “tired”, however the money has been well spent in the restaurant area. The dining takes place in a smart, comfortable environment, and the food is really of a very high standard; last week I had literally the best venison that I have ever eaten, and the Chicken Balmoral and the Finnan Haddie were of a similarly high standard. The service was of the same level as the food, switch a mixture of eager, helpful youngsters and more experienced staff overseeing the operation. So, great food, great service, lovely people … just need to spend some of the significant room rates on modernising the rooms, I think!

Our room had great view over the bay. 15 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Bathroom disappointing as water not always hot in the evening and the toilet was too close to the wall and heated towel rail.

I enjoyed my stay, I had an ocean view but the rain was so bad couldn’t see the sea! The next morning was glorious so the view was beautiful. Friendly staff as well.

Lovely location.
Rooms were a bit dated but the hotel restaurant and bar area was really nice. Beautiful views over the bay if you are in a sea view room. Disappointed with housekeeping. We know that there are restrictions due to Covid, but we were there for 5 days with not even an emptying of bins. We suggested that placing some bathroom clensing wipes would be a good idea as an alternative to room servi e given the circumstances. Fortunately we had our own with us. Highly recommend The Bay restaurant as meals were both unusal and extremely tast.

Very small bath with an inadequate poor shower system. The rooms were clean with a pleasing vista from the window. However, the general decor somewhat tired and worn with several carpet stains present. Refreshments were provided but no access to mains water. The bathroom water appeared to be from a tanked source, this is not classed as drinkable water, bacteria can live in tanked systems eg: legionella.

Hotel was full with a very demanding tour group and as a result staff basically ignored other guests - hard to get served at breakfast or reception. Nicely refurbished hotel but very uncomfortable mattress. I came away with a bad back after 2 nights. breakfast was fine though.

Room was not cleaned. Too old bed, so my back hurt. Two separate taps, so afraid of washing hand and face. No socket near beds. You can hear people talking next doors like they are talking to you in your room. Some rooms are too far from the reception with some stairs, so not good if you have a heavy luggage.

Lerwick had a quiet location. The hotel is aged. All ok except the beds are soft as in worn out sink to the middle.

Location is great; 10 minutes walk to the town centre and the views from the restaurant over the sea, beautiful. My room was clean and comfortable and very spacious. All things necessary, I had 3 hairdryers to choose from, however no DVD player as stated. The hotel needs cheering up inside though. It is very dated. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was good at breakfast and dinner. Nice stay, thankyou.

Been there quite a few times. I still have to fill in my details on arrival, told company policy, but not at equivalent hotels elsewhere. Room a bit cramped. Have been in larger ones with separate small lounge for same price. In room toilet failed to flush properly, three times at least on occasion - reported to reception Wonderful food - good reason to go back there.

The Hotel has recently refurbished the bathrooms, but they've been done "on the cheap" and the rest of the decor needs refurbish, the main reception is OK and the food was nice, but over priced for what it was. There isn't much choice on the island, but if you're prepared for the cost and a trip back in time for a 1980's hotel experience, the views over the bay are great!
