Although the property had all the amenities promised, most were not in good shape. Hot tub was not working when we arrived. It was fixed but did not heat after it was "fixed". Pool was cloudy after heavy showers during the week and not serviced. The water pressure in house was so weak especially upstairs where the showers are. Overall rundown condition.

50th anniversary family trip

Our family coming from 4 states had a wonderful time catching up in a beautiful setting not too far from downtown Asheville. The house met our family’s needs. The pool was great, we also used the firepit. The few concerns we had were answered promptly & all in all we had a great time. The hot tub wasn’t working initially, but was fixed during our stay.

Renter Beware - pay attention to all reviews. The negatives are not outliers.

In my opinion, this house is oversold by padded reviews (notice the 2 10/10 from ryan n. and Hunter W from 9/3/24 that are repeated 4 times) and inaccurate representation. There is good to be mentioned: The house is spacious. It really has 5 bedrooms (the 6th is a bed put in the game room; the day bed/trundle are in the primary master closet). (all 3 basement rooms share 1 bathroom) There are 4 king beds with varying comfort levels. We appreciated the chance to bring our dogs. The house is in a quiet residential area. It is 17 minutes from downtown Asheville. If you are a take-out food or eat-out-in-restaurants-mostly family, the kitchen is well stocked with plates, flatware, serving dishes. We found Mighty Tree property management to be attentive and responsive and had a good experience with them.But there is also disrepair and deterioration to note: This house has significant plumbing issues.The leak in the game room persists (mentioned in a negative review from 2023). The leaks in the downstairs bathroom persist (also mentioned in a previous negative review). The water pressure is poor. Many sinks/tubs don't have strainers or stoppers. Some drains run very slow. The clothes washing machine had unpredictable standing water at times. The management company says they have tried to have these addressed but the same problems remain. Broken furniture; insufficient cookware, 2 nonfunctional eyes on the stove; broken glass on FR carpet; deteriorating hot tub cover. Beware.

Family reunion

The house was perfect for our needs. We had 14 people from one year to 83 years old. The kitchen is well equipped, and the pool was terrific. The house could use some updating, especially with the showers in some rooms, but, all in all, it was great for our needs.

Large home but needs attention

We booked this property for a small family get together. There were multiple issues once we arrived, which were brought to the attention of the property management company. We cut our trip short due to the conditions and we are still waiting to hear if any compensation will be granted from the property owner. Some of the issues were: pool chemicals left out and around the pool where children are playing/swimming, broken furniture (inside and outside), multiple plumbing issues in bathrooms and kitchen. Leak in the ceiling of downstairs game room-carpet was soaked. Floors were dirty (our crawling granddaughter's feet where evidence of the lack of cleanliness), coffee maker was not wiped down and was splashed with coffee from previous user, built-in microwave didn't work and smelled like burning wires when we tried to use it, gas grill was dirty, hot tub cover is rotting and caved in on one side. Towels smelled sour and I could go on but these are the big ticket items which we brought to the attention of the management company. This is one VRBO that I was bitterly disappointed with and this has not been the case in all the other ones we've rented. Hopefully the issues will be addressed sooner rather than later!

Big house with lots of activities

This house is about 15-20 minutes from most of what you might want to do in Asheville. That suited us fine as our main goal was time as a family and we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, pool table, ping pong and foosball. I paid extra to have the pool heated as the weather was overcast and it was worth it as we happily splashed in the early morning, late nights, and the rain! It’s larger than an average backyard pool and deeper, about 7.5 feet at the deepest. There were minor maintenance issues which the company was responsive about. The house has 3 full living rooms which are all comfortable if you want to really spread out, and the pool table is in the original “dining room” which makes it a part of the main living area. We were happy to have use of the place and I can imagine it is even better with more kids or teenagers.

Great house for a large group!

The home was very roomy for our large party. Kids were able to sleep and play in the basement. They really enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. The home set up made it easy for parents to enjoy and supervise swimming. House was very clean and welcoming!

Wonderful vacation spot for family stay!

We really enjoyed our vacation at this house! Everything in the description was very accurate. The house is HUGE, very spacious. We had 7 adults and one child and there were still extra bedrooms. There were plenty of towels, even toiletries, firewood for the pit, beach towels for the pool, outdoor swing, plenty of seating, very kid friendly, and even with the most minor things management was very quick to respond and helpful with any questions/concerns we had. Note for guests: there is an upcharge for heating the pool. Management was extremely gracious and helpful walking us through that process. After our stay I noticed it was in the email but in dark mode it shows up in a red color that isn’t very legible. Just an fyi from a web compliance view ;) Overall a 5/5. Would love to rent at this location again.

Best Vacation Ever!!!

We did a family reunion here and it was the best vacation we ever took!! The house, the hot tub and the pool were perfect! I strongly recommend this property! The property manager was always available! Great things to do while you are here are the French Broad White Water Rafting, and they take pictures! Also, rent a pontoon boat on Lake Lure! We did Washburn Marina because they have large pontoon boats! We also had a blast fly fishing and hiking was cool, too! We are all city slickers so this stay was awesome!

Nice overall stay 15 mins from downtown Asheville

Had a little trouble with the door code not working upon arrival and needed more propane during our stay and the customer service was excellent both times. House could have been a little cleaner and there were no cleaning products left for us to wipe the kitchen down after us using it. Overall its a nice quiet property and we would return again. Grocery stores and food were a 5 minute drive away.

Wonderful location and property!!

Property was well maintained and very clean upon our arrival. We arrived about 30 minutes before check-in and contacted the management company who got back to us immediately and allowed us to enter early. We had no issues during our stay. Property was as described and the pool was almost completed, no workers were present during our stay. The house is on a quiet street in a great neighborhood, about 10 minutes from many food and shopping options. We only had to contact the Property manager about a missing remote control which they responded and resolved immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to rent my next vacation home from thier portfolio of homes. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Honest review

Before going into the bad, the house is located in a nice neighborhood, it is very spacious to host, big parties, or families if you are traveling. AC and heat work well, nice little games to occupy the time such as pool/foosball/ping-pong. But unfortunately a little misleading at least with our experience We booked this house for my family of 11 and we were not happy with the experience. One of the suites bathroom sink was leaking a lot, to the point where it created a puddle on the floor.. I had to put a towel on both sides and the towels got completely soaked within 1 day. We messaged the owner and they said they would send a maintenance guy and never did and never got back to us regarding the matter. Most the towels in our bedrooms had a foul smell and one of them even had a brown stain on it. There was also a white blanket in the closet that we grabbed and there was also a brown stain on it (pictures were taken) The dishwasher was completely full with dirty dishes upon arrival. There were obvious spider webs on the light on top of the dining table. The online description of the house stated it had paper towels, salt, pepper, and oil, all of which was not provided and had to be purchased. The front and backyard of the house was completely messy, out of place and the table was dirty and had to be wiped. The chairs were all misplaced, it seemed like the previous people who stayed at the house left it that way and was not put back in place. We also found a cleaning rag on the grass in the backyard. Overall communication and cleanliness could have been better and given us a much better experience had issues been resolved.

Great for extended families

We gathered 11 family members together ages 3 to 70+…great spaces, huge yard with a giant leaf pile that the littles loved jumping into! The fire pit was a big hit, especially for our s’mores one night! It is located about 20 minutes to any of our daily activities.. Management was very responsive. Plenty of spaces inside for different activities. All in all a wonderful week of home cooking and fun.

Such a wonderful surprise!

Asheville was great, but this house was what made the trip! Plenty of space for each of us to spread out and truly relax and unwind before we start school later this month: the TVs were huge and the beds were over the top comfortable. We could have done nothing but hang at the house and have had the best time. We loved playing pool on the main level and then taking our competitive spirits down to the basement each night for more fun. Thank you for checking in on us and making sure our stay was all that we hoped it would be. What a treat!! What a house!! What views!! What beds!! 😍😍

Great Stay

We had to book this place fairly last minute and it exceeded our expectations. The place was very spacious and clean and not too far from Asheville which was our main point of interest. We also had some issues with the grill which the management was impressively responsive to and resolved the issue by the next morning. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend this place.

Mountain Paradise

We rented this house on one-day's notice due to our other VRBO being damaged by a broken pipe. We were in a bind, as we were attending a wedding and we have 5-couples that needed a place to stay. This house came to the rescue! The home was located in a area easily accessible to downtown Asheville and all the attractions. The house was very clean, had large rooms, big kitchen to make meals and located on a beautiful lot overlooking the mountains. The check-in and check-out process could not have been easier and the management company was great to work with. On behalf of 10-very worried people, who thought that they were going to miss their nephews wedding....Thank you!
