The only thing that could save this place is a demo crew.
The cleaning person used extremely strong perfumed products that burned our eyes and throats as we entered the home. Immediately we called the owner and left a message as well as a text message . We thoroughly cleaned all surfaces and floor with water and aired the place out for hours at 20 degree F with no success. As we were cleaning the house we were appalled to find heavy dog scratches on the bedroom door, holes in bathroom floor, large crack on bathroom wall and peeling paint. Also, no carbon monoxide detector and smoke detectors were removed from ceiling with a gas fireplace and gas heater in use. We did not find this suitable or safe living arrangements. We did not hear back from host immediately so our only option was to sleep in our car or get a hotel for 4 days. We ended up in a hotel for the remainder of our stay in Leadville. The next day, the host contacted me via message offering to send the cleaning lady over to do what we had already done the night of check in. I replied to him requesting a full refund and have yet to hear back from him after 16 days. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Not clean at all
Property is in serious need of some love. Also better cleaning schedule as we walked into dirty washcloth in the shower, bed not made, comforter on the floor by the washing machine and floors not swept or vacuumed. If we pay a cleaning fee, I expect to come into a clean place and not be grossed out by someone else's dirt. Oh and dishwasher full of someone else's dishes.

Again as I stated in our conversations, I wish you would have let me know once you arrived as I would have fixed the issue right away. There was a miscommunication with my cleaning crew and the house was not cleaned. I refunded 100% of your money and am disappointed to get a review this bad. You stayed in the house and didn’t contact me. I strive to make my guests happy and I was never given this chance.

All Needs Met
While this was a very basic stay, you have everything you need for a successful trip. I would not recommend this place for an extended stay because this home is "cozy" but not in a very comfortable way. The house itself is pretty old and in desperate need of some cosmetic updating (appliances, paint, etc.) and deep cleaning. However, the backyard was lovely for our dog and to grill out.

Great stay for our ski trip.
Great little home was perfect for couple and one child to stay for spring break ski trip to Leadville and Ski Cooper. Home is older and small one bedroom but is quite cozy and modernized with everything we needed such as wi-fi, flat screen tv's, streaming services. Kitchen was equipped with everything we need to prepare our meals. Loved the gas fireplace in the living room. Price was great and we will definitely stay here again in the future.

This house was just the right size for two of us. No complaints here. Main reason for the stay was to go skiing, house is only 45 min away from the lifts at Breckenridge.

Leadville 2020
The property location is very good to drive off and fish. Our only complaint is the television. It was advertised as having tv, it was spotty at best and after the power failure last night, tv was nonexistent. Normally it wouldn't matter, but last night was game 3 in the playoffs. Nice location, clean, we would stay here again.

Great little house in Leadville!
My girlfriend and I stayed here in late June of 2020. It was exactly what we were looking for. Perfect size for the two of us and our dogs. The backyard is really big, and had plenty of space for the dogs to run around in. Very nostalgic feel to it. Clean, tidy and cozy. Highly recommended.

Perfect place!
I absolutely loved this place! Fenced in yard is huge, communication was fantastic, and the bed was comfy. House was fully equipped with towels, toilet paper, and plenty of hand sanitizer. I was nervous it might have an old smell since it is an older property, but it did not. It smelled very fresh and clean! Neighborhood was nice, and close to downtown Leadville. Would stay again!

Cozy home
We really enjoyed this cozy home situated in a quiet neighborhood, and it is very well located within Leadville. I could let my dog out with ease into the secured fenced backyard, where she had ample room to run around. The kitchen was fully stocked with extras, and we had more than enough pans and dishes for a family of four. Although we were there for winter outdoor recreation, we had plenty of tv viewing options for winding down in the evening. The owner was very responsive to questions and was wonderful to communicate with. Definitely a repeat.

A very nice and cozy place to stay.
A very comfortable and cozy house to stay especially after spending day x-country skiing and snowshoeing. The kitchen is well suited to prepare meals. The heating system keeps the house comfortably warm.

Cute Cozy home with a nice yard for the pups!
This home was a very nice, cozy and clean home. It came with all the essentials making it easy packing so we didn't have to bring a lot. My dogs especially loved the back yard and we enjoyed having a fire at night. We definately would stay here again!

This is an older little house. Clean and everything you need to settle in on your vacation. My complaint is withe the hidden fees taking a $104 per night stay to $170. Once you choose this property from Expedia, they are no help with issues that arise and refer you to a property managers phone number which has no voice mail and is never answered. Believe me I tried many times.

Review of little blue house in Leadville, Colorado
Cute cabin. Comfy bed. Pots and pans need to be replaced due to rust and welded food. No towel bars or toilet plunger. Can opener is shot. Great fireplace and nice kitchen. Overall, we enjoyed our 2 nights there and our golden retriever enjoyed the fenced in yard.

We loved our stay in this cozy home in Leadville! Plenty of things to do close by and a great place to come back to at the end of the day. Owner was helpful and quick to respond to questions. Great place for a small family/group who enjoys a place with character!

Second time staying in this house
I stayed here in June when I was competing in a dog event ....so when it was announced they doing another event in Leadville at the end of October, I immediately contacted the owner to stay here again. it’s convenient. it’s quiet You have everything you need to spend a week or weekend. I didn’t even think about looking for another place Best kept secret Of Leadville. Quiet neighborhood. It’s a little rustic but that’s part of the charm. Well insulated, stays warm when it’s 26° outside. He doesn’t have a lot of cooking utensils as far as pots and pans and things like that so if you plan on cooking all of your meals you will wanna bring some stuff. I knew this from last time and was prepared this time. I am sure I will be back again!

Very nice place has everything one would need.
The house is so nice and clean. There is anything you would want right there. Totally enjoyed staying there and will look to do it again next time we are in town. House is full of character and so cute. Made our stay more like being home then in a rental. Brian was totally helpful and responsive to any questions.

Perfect for an ultrarunner
I stayed here during the Leadville 100 mile running camp and it was perfect. Quiet. Clean. Close to 315 Harrison (5min drive) and even closer to the Safeway ;) The place was clean and perfect for chilling out after the long days in the mountains.

BAD EXPERIENCE, ONE STAR IS TOO GENEROUS!!!
Showed up at property to find it extremely dirty. Bottles all over counter, dirty floors, bed unmade and tear in comforter, dog poop in back yard, cigarette butts in fire pit, bathroom and toilet dirty (took pictures as proof). After making contact with owner via text (tried to call but he would not answer and mailbox full) he told me he would re-fund me (proof in text message) as the maid did not show up. We ended up leaving property and had to figure out where to stay that night. After several texts sent that evening asking when refund would show up to my account, he finally got back to me via text the next day at 8:11am and told me I would need to cancel my stay to get a refund. He also asked me to do that so he could get someone else in the unit for the night to re-coup part of his money. I did try to cancel and called VRBO to find out it could not be done. VRBO told me that they had spoken to the owner and he said to them that he would be contacting me. This was a week ago and nothing, no refund nor attempt to contact me. I ended up disputing the charges. BAD BAD business, do not stay here!!!

This place was a pit!
The picture does not in any way accurately portray this place! It is a dump! Dirty linens piled up on the bed and on the washer and dryer, dirty floors and rugs, piles of junk and weeds all over the back yard, a picnic table with paint peeling all over it, only room for 1 person or a couple to sleep, a grill with no actual grill inside and no lid, etc. I asked for a full refund to my credit card! It was so bad that my friend and I ended up driving to Frisco and staying in a lodge there. Thank goodness they had a vacancy!

One of my favorites for sure I will be back
I came with a friend to stay in Leadville to participate in a dog event. This house was perfect it had a fenced backyard for the dogs and everything we could’ve wanted in it. It’s cute and quaint and it absolutely embodies the spirit of Leadville. It has everything we could’ve wanted to make our stay feel at home. A responsive host a great neighborhood you can walk around in and it’s very quiet. Best bang for the buck! It’s charm is it’s best quality! The only thing is maybe the cookwear could be updated....but when realized we forgot some spices we were happy to see that there were some in the cabinets and they weren’t outdated.

Perfect for the weekend. Needs a few things
Great spot. Perfect size for two or three people. I’d say squeezing more in there with winter gear would be a challenge unless you’re really comfortable with each other. ;) The fire place is great and warms up the place nicely. It’s easy to get to and super central. We got in early and hung out on the porch drinking beers and playing cards until it was cleaned. Brian was easy going about this. Super appreciated. The back yard is great. There’s a picnic table and it’s a large space. It gets great sun. The things to note: The driveway is steep. With snow on it you’ll need more than two-wheel drive or park on the street. It needs a little TLC like some paint. There is debris in the back yard which should be cleaned up like an old tire, wood and whatnot. A BBQ would be rad. Or bring your own. Bring your own cooking supplies. We couldn’t locate a baking sheet, cooking oil, plastic baggies, sponge and the such. So unless you’re planning on eating out the whole time, I’d bring those things along. It also smells like someone smoked cigarettes in there. It needs to be aired out. I’m super sensitive. Shower curtain needs to be replaced. All Of that being said...My friend and I would definitely stay here again. Just be prepared and bring your own stuff unless that changes:)

Cute place in a great location
Cozy and quaint - love the new fencing outside. Everything works and the place is clean and comfortable. Sleeper sofa isn't great and the cabin really needs to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed. Kitchen needs some additions such as mixing bowls and measuring cups, etc.

Needs some upgrades
The owner of the property is a very nice fellow and responded quickly to a problem we had. The property itself is not quite as cozy as the photos indicated. The interior walls are painted a dark brown which makes a small room seem pretty gloomy and the bathroom needs an actual shower not a claw foot tub surrounded by plastic. Lastly, the back yard has a lot of construction debris including some boards with protruding nails which is a concern if you have a pet.

Quaint Home
This was the second time my husband and I stayed at this house and it was just as wonderful as the first time. There was plenty of room for the two of us and the family dog. It is convenient to the store, downtown and Turquoise Lake. Brian was amazing to work with, very prompt at answering any questions we had. The new fence is a great addition! We will be back.

Great place for me & my dog
Perfect size place, especially the very large fenced-in yard. Stayed a week, weather was amazing, & we hiked daily several of the trails local to Leadville. Good place to escape the summer heat in Florida. Hope to return soon for a longer stay!

Ok overall
I'm leaning towards a 3.5-4 but settling on 3. Overall it was a decent stay considering the limited options in Leadville. We were thrilled to have our own space for the same price as a hotel room. My main complaints: the house smelled pretty musty. It was a beautiful day when we arrived, upper 50s and tons of sunshine but even with the window and front door wide open for hours, I was a sneezing mess which ultimately lead to an uncomfortable stay. Also, the bed is up against a wall and there was only one available outlet in the room (that we found anyway) so that was pretty inconvenient for two people in that bed. We found the bed itself pretty uncomfortable and got very little sleep (2-4 hours). I liked our privacy and it was quiet, but the smell and extreme lack of sleep was disappointing.

Great cozy cabin
We stayed at the cabin late February and loved it. Cozy and comfortable inside despite the huge drifts of snow plowed from the streets outside. We enjoyed snowshoeing around Turquoise Lake, Scenery stunning. Owner was nice to work with. We would definitely like to return. Charlotte

Great Place, 2 Issues
I would have given this 5 stars except for 2 things. The sofa bed was actually unusable and we ended up taking off the mattress and putting it on the floor (family of 4). Also, the doors on the bedroom and bathroom were not really doors, just hanging shutters essentially and that left little privacy for the bathroom. That being said, about everything else about the house was really cool. Plenty of bedding, dishes, it was clean, loved the fireplace, loved the multiple board/card games, loved the PS3 and tons of movies. Would have liked to play the Nintendo games but we couldn't find power cord. It has a big back yard, but the snow was deeper in the front so we played there. We'll definitely consider coming back because it was a real cute place, but I think we might have to bring an air mattress with us if we do.

Leadville Home
All was very good except bathroom tub. In order to prevent water from flowing around the tub had to use plastic curtains. And I did not like. I believe that you need to replace the bath and acrylic sealant to close up all the angles.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have remodeled a few aspects of the house but also try keep some of the old Victorian charm in the house with the bare claw tub. I wish you would've contacted me asap about the shower and I could've had that fixed or at least improved for your stay. I strive for 100% satisfaction and have many repeat guests that love to come back. Please contact me to discuss further.

Very nice
We very much enjoyed our stay here, the house was cozy and well kept and it stayed plenty warm. The house is well stocked so you don't even miss home, and very close to the Safeway for groceries or downtown Leadvilles shops and restaurants.

Cozy, Affordable and Clean
It was perfect for our group of 3 looking for a place for a one-night only stay and knowing we'd arrive late after dinner at Tennessee Pass Cookhouse. On a wintery, snowy and below zero night, it was cozy, comfortable and accessible. Small and simple, but equipped with everything you need. One note, the bathroom is small and access is through the bedroom which worked for us, but people might wish to know. Brian was very responsive and obviously takes pride in ensuring his renters are happy!

Wonderful long weekend
The house was cozy (it was below freezing nights) but so close to both good dog walks and downtown. We've been visiting Leadville for 30 years and the food possibilities have increased immensely, so we had a great time antiquing and eating. Our elderly dog was comfortable (no stairs and a fenced yard). We had the excitement of a bear sighting but it was fortunately uneventful. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a laid-back long weekend out of town. The house is well maintained and the tv amenities are better than at home. Cooking facilities are pretty good, too.

Very clean and cozy. Perfect for a small group.
This home was perfect for a small group of 3. We had everything we needed kitchen, laundry and a yard for 2 small dogs. The cabin was clean and very well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe. Brian the owner is very quick to respond to questions. Overall our stay was awesome and I would stay here again.
