They gave our room away & didnt have another to put us in so we didn't get to stay. The place looked ran down & unkept. The staff looked like they just rolled out of bed for their shift & were extremely unhelpful. Don't waste your money or time booking here.

The rooms were small but clean. The beds are comfortable but the bedding had a bed pad for a sheet and a very thin cover, kinda strange. I had to have the key card replaced twice. It would work once or twice then quit opening the doors. I was charged twice for a one room one night stay but I called and got that straightened out, I think. I am waiting for the refund to go back into my bank. Over all not too bad just a few quirks.

The room was very small. We had no place to put a suitcase except the floor. "Could not give us a receipt" as we checked out. Security lock did not function.

Hi DelmaI am glad to see you mostly enjoyed your stay. I do want to address the things you mentioned in the review. The receipt must come from Expedia because that is who you [paid your money to. We then collect from Expedia. As far as the room design, All Tru hotels are built with an idea of getting their guests out in to the lobby and communities in which the hotels are built. I am sorry you found the lack of storage space distasteful. However this is the way every Tru by Hilton is built. All in all I do hope you enjoyed yourself and come back again soon!

Great place to stay! Marcia at the front desk was friendly and helpful beyond our expectations. There are plenty of places nearby to grab food, too. Just short drive to KU for our visit!

For the price (over $210 with taxes for one night) Tru is less than desirable. I’ve stayed there before and was giving it another chance. Unfortunately that will be my last visit to a Tru by Hilton hotel.

The location and the area surrounding the hotel are great. Many dining options close by and easy to navigate through the area while driving. A good location if you have an event at the Sports Pavillion- less than a 5 minute drive. I have stayed here a few times without any issues. The only exception would be the most recent stay in which they were out of Double Queen rooms which is what I had booked. Ultimately, I was placed in a King bed room which on most occasions would have been fine. This particular trip, however, I was traveling with an assistant coach and this presented an inconvenience for sleeping arrangements. We ended up resolving the issue with an air mattress as the hotel did not have a rollaway bed option. The attendant at the check in desk was very kind and professional and provided us with additional bedding supplies and tried to help make improvements to a less than ideal situation.

The contactless check in process was cumbersome. You have to download the Hilton app and the instructions aren't clear. Our shower wasn't the cleanest and there was some kind of makeup smeared on the bathroom door. We went down for breakfast around 9:30 and not everything was being restocked timely. The lobby area has a little convenience foods for purchase area and lots of seating options as well as some games and TVs. We utilized the pool table which was fun. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I liked that the rooms are not carpeted. Overall the stay was good.

Great place to stay in Lawrence
Everyone was very pleasant that we interacted with. We loved the room, that it was not a carpet floor and the layout was perfect. The rolling desk was a unique feature. The 24/7 coffee and tea was a great perk, as well as the free breakfast. The gym, of course small, but great equipment including a peloton, 2 treads and various options for weight lifting — cleaning wipes and towels provided. Every place we went to was 10 or less minutes away, and plenty of food options in the immediate surrounding area.

Nice stay
Hotel lobby and rooms were clean, we loved the hangout lobby full of games and space to eat if you want to do crock pot meals instead of eating out every night! There’s plenty of room to set up a meal and eat with friends and family. Plenty of fun games for kids and adults. Our teens loved the pool table. Only downfall that would prevent me from booking again was that the rooms were sooooo tiny. We had 2 adults and 2 kids in a double Queen and it was crammed. Also, No microwave in the room.

A Nice Option for a Lawrence Stay!
This hotel was just fine for a quick college visit, albeit not the best value on certain weekends when there’s a lot happening in town. A clean no frills hotel with good service, friendly employees, simple room accommodations, and a nice variety of breakfast offerings. The area is close to shopping and dining and about a 12 min drive to KU’s campus.
