"We have stayed at several hotels in Amsterdam during the last years, and this hotel have been our favorite for the last 3 trips. The hotel has a convenient location at Sloterdjik station. It is only a 6 minute train ride to Amsterdam Centraal, and a 15 minute ride to Shiphol airport. Trains are very frequent. The hotel rooms are spacious and equipped with basic cutlery. Unlike many hotels in the area this hotel isn’t super expensive, and gives you value for many…..but there are quite a few issues… I don’t think this hotel is very old, but maintenance isn’t a priority. The shower flooded, one door was broken, no hot water in the bathroom sink, empty shower gel, dust on floor, a lot of marks on the walls. Checking in takes for ever, and the receptionist does’nt make any effort to speed up. They have some rooms located literally in the reception area. In this room you can hear every single conversation in the reception crystal clear. We where given the room nearest the reception despite my protests. The receptionist told me the room was quiet enough. We tried the room for 10 minutes….it’s terrible. We actually had to be just as rude as the receptionist in order to change rooms. There are some upsides and downsides to this hotel. If you don’t mind bad maintenance and rude reception it’s nice. Just be sure not to book a comfort doubleroom. Seems some of those are located in the reception area. We are not sure we will be back."
