Awesome location for all things fun! Slice of paradise right on Lk Leelanau!
My husband and I celebrated 30 yr anniversary at this adorable cottage- no kids this trip but they would have loved it!! We had everything we needed- we rented and learned how to paddle board! Would stay again!

Traditional Lake Cottage
Great property that had everything needed for a Leelanau Peninsula week including a dock close to the narrows boat launch for our boat! Cottage was clean and comfortable with a large yard for games and lake time.

Beautiful setting.
Lake setting and proximity to all things is excellent. Initial hiccup was dealt with swiftly by manager. Cleanliness is lacking. Needs a good, deep cleaning throughout. Still would recommend. The lake is stunning.

We loved it!!
We were coming to town for a family wedding and needed a place nearby to stay, what a gem we found!! It is secluded but still close enough to walk or paddle into the downtown area to get a drink or dinner. It was so relaxing & peaceful! The home was very clean and up to date. We look forward to visiting again!!

Not worth the money
Screens were torn and no a/c, so unable to open windows due to bugs coming in. No closets, no dressers had to live out of suitcase. Countertops old and grimy, bad lighting, not very nice for the high price. Fridge froze our food that was on bottom shelf, coffee pot needs to be replaced or minimal cleaned

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We've never had any issues opening the windows and don't see any rips in the screens. Bugs are always a bit more excessive on the lake. It's such a beautiful view and amazing setting. Closets are located in the living room complete with hangers and drawers. There isn't any air conditioning which we state on this site. We feel the price is very reasonable compared to other cottages in the area. Had we known the coffee pot wasn't working properly, we would have brought a new one.

Exceeded our Expectations
The home is clean, spacious and suited our purposes perfectly. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s right on the lake with tons of lake frontage. We rented a boat the entire time we stayed and the dock was great. Waking up to a view of the lake each morning was a treat.

Special Place!
We had such a wonderful week! Our family enjoyed the awesome fire pit, views of the lake, stars, and sunset, boating, paddle boarding, and canoeing, playing yard games, walking to lake Leelanau city and more. The bay was so calm we could tie off our boat on the dock! We also boated to leland for dinner, fish sandwiches, ice cream, vans beach, and shopping! The cottage is so close to glen arbor, suttons bay, sleeping. Bear dunes, traverse city, wineries, and lake michigan (good harbour bay was our fav!) which we enjoyed visiting. We didn't catch many fish off the dock but loved the wildlife and saw lots of turtles, swans, pike, beavers, ducks, water snakes, and a bald eagle! The north part of the lake was awesome for swimming, sandy bars, and sunsets. The south part was great for tubing and wake and knee boarding. The house had lots of outdoor seating, comfy beds, yard games, toiletries, stocked kitchen etc. All in all it was a peaceful place to enjoy 10 days in beautiful northern michigan. Great stay on lake leelanau
Loved loved loved this house! The hosts were very responsive and communication was clear. We had three teens who stayed in the detached room on the side. Great location right around the corner from a coffee shop and right at the intersection between Leland and Sutton’s Bay. We were able to spend a day in the sleeping bear dunes and then another day in Traverse City. The kids had fun swimming in the lake off the dock. Great area for a campfire. Tons of outdoor seating. Host provided everything we needed - washer and dryer was key! At night we watched movies together on the couch. This was the perfect place for you if you just need a no frills vacation. That’s not to say it was dirty or shabby. Everything was very clean and the furniture was much newer than some of the other houses at this price point that we’ve stayed at in traverse city. We just didn’t want to pay a ton of money for a house that we weren’t going to be spending a lot of time in. There’s so much to do outside and around the area. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Quick lake getaway
My husband and I took our mother and infant son with us for a weekend up north. Louann communicated ahead of time that some updates were in the process of being made and we were able to check in a little early. Location was great to everything Leland has to offer, other quaint towns are a quick car ride away. Definitely would stay here again if I had a smaller group as described above.

Beautiful lakefront location
My husband and I really enjoyed staying here for a long weekend trip in August. The house was very clean and well equipped. The location was just perfect - we enjoyed sipping coffee while sitting by the beautiful lakefront of this property. Easy to get to Fishtown, Suttons Bay, and Traverse and Old Mission. We would happily stay here again.

Great lake location
The location was great. The kids liked the bunk house. The house itself has had some updates. New BBQ. The kitchen appliances are new. No dishwasher. The cabinets are repainted, which is fine, but very old with drawers that are broken. The counter top was repainted formica which is odd. The checkout process asked that we clean the house and wash the sheets before we left, which we did. Not fond of that as we go on vacation so we can get away from house work. Would have preferred that they charged a cleaning fee so that we didn't have to do any cleaning or laundry on the morning we left. Overall it was good for what we needed.

Thank you for your review...Just need to clarify a few things. First, we don't ask you to "clean" the house. We ask that you clean up after yourselves. Over time, we have walked into some pretty disrespectful situations. So as a result, we've had to be more specific in what we ask of our guests. Secondly, we ask that you start a load of dirty towels, so they don't lay wet from morning showers. I'm sorry you misunderstood washing of the linens wasn't your responsibility. I recall thanking you for washing all of the sheets. In retrospect, our cleaning staff does an outstanding job. You would be shocked to see what some guests have left behind for the cleaning crew. Once again, thank you for booking with us.

The outdoors were great right on the lake, good location. House inside too rustic.

Thank you for your opinion. We feel we are adequately priced for the area. With 6 adults, your price was approx $60 per person per night. Beautiful views everywhere in the home. A little rustic yes, but certainly accommodates simple living.

Fun Lakeside Getaway!
We enjoyed our time at the cozy cottage. Much time was spent on the water fishing, kayaking, and SUP. The house also comes with a canoe that we occasionally used to visit Boathouse Vineyards. We have two teenage boys who enjoyed their privacy in the bunk house. The home was spotless and the cabinets well-stocked. At night we stargazed at the waterfront fire pit. The property is large, walking distance to the Narrows and a short drive to Leland and Suttons Bay. The property manager was great to work with - we communicated with her in the weeks leading up to our trip, and she checked in with quick messages during our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Unkept Cabin on the Lake
I have stayed at a few VRBO's and this was the worst experience I have ever had. The property manager got our arrival date wrong so there were dirty sheets on the floor and the house was not cleaned when we arrived. Once we finally got a hold of her she did end up sending someone. They were only there a short time to give us sheets (not make the beds) and clean the bathrooms. The floors were full of sand, the open shelf that the dishes were on was dirty, the drawers in the kitchen were filthy and there were no regular spoons and little amounts of the other silverware. We reached out to the property manager again the next morning to tell her our dissatisfaction of the condition of the house. She proceeded to let us know she does not charge a cleaning fee and expects everyone to clean up after themselves. There is a list that you have to do before you leave but these things clearly were not done by the people before us. It is unrealistic that people are going to clean thoroughly. An inspection should be done so every renter has a fresh start with clean floors and general maintenance things including mowing the grass. She did offer to have someone come over and clean again but by that time I had already cleaned and did not want to be inconvenienced by having to wait for them to come over. After telling her I did not want anyone to come I heard nothing from her. I felt we should have been compensated for the inconvenience of having to spend the first part of our vacation cleaning. They charge a linen fee, I folded all the towels that were in dryer myself and we had to start a load before we left so not sure what this charge is for. The only good thing about the house was being on the water but it would have been nice if there was a ladder on the dock so you didn't have to get in on the slippery rocks.

Once again, we apologize for the misunderstanding. Our previous reviews really do speak total truth. We did do a walk through after previous renters left, (that’s how they receive their deposit back in full) especially if they’ve respected the property. During the inspection of previous renters, the home was partially cleaned. Yes, there were additional items to be completed and that was totally our responsibility. Understanding the size of this amazing property it’s very difficult to call it “filthy” as it’s always well maintained and exceptionally clean as other renters have found upon their arrival. As with any local company, we strive for perfection and clearly admitted the error to you. We also understand you were inconvenienced and offered to come clean again. After multiple attempts to reach you, You declined. Bathrooms were cleaned quickly upon the error and clean sheets delivered. I sincerely hope you didn’t waste any valuable vacation time. We do expect people to pick up after themselves, it’s common respect. We have many pleasurable experiences with our guests and will continue to do so. When someone says this is the worst experience they’ve ever had? They are fishing for a discount and we don’t discount or refund for paradise.

Family vacation with teens
Perfect! The cottage has beautiful sunsets, a lovely fire pit, and a handy spot on the lake for water sports. The bathrooms are recently renovated and everything felt fresh. The second building was a wonderful space for my teen daughters to retire at the end of our adventures. We rented paddle boards and kayaks from Sutton’s Bike rental. They delivered to the dock. We also took out the canoe that was in the garage. NJ’s grocery has homemade Indian food and Nittolo’s pizza was delicious.

Our first family trip to Michigan

Wonderful location and so much to do!
Really spacious lake house with updated bathrooms and great views of the lake. Our two teens enjoyed swimming, kayaking, SUP, and fishing here. And they liked using the separate bunk house for themselves. Great patio for dinner, drinks, cards, or just relaxing.

Perfect for one
I really enjoyed the small scale of this house, since it was just me. That said, this property could accommodate many more especially outside. There were perfect trees for hammock hanging and many options for enjoying outside. The property was spotless; the instructions clear; the shower terrific, the location excellent. I would definitely like to return!

Very quiet, relaxing, close to lots of activities
Very clean and relaxing property. Mostly updated, with a good "cottage" feel. Good size lake lot, good privacy, quiet. Watched the rowing crews skim across the lake from the nearby camp every morning, very peaceful. Dock is convenient, a little shallow if you have a bigger boat. You can reach Lake Leelanau and Leland by water or a short drive. Suttons Bay and Sleeping Bear Dunes are a close drive as well. Great family getaway!

amazing!!
wow, the property and property owner were both awesome! anytime we had a question the owner was easy to get ahold of. the perfect place to stay. We have been going to lake Leelanau for over 10 years and this place to stay was our favorite. perfect outdoor area and one of the nicest docks on the lake! had so many games and a canoe that we actually took to the boathouse winery right now down the lake. Will be staying here again. again thank you so much!

Cottage at the narrows at Lake Leelanau
Great location nice cottage, loved having bunkhouse. Access to lake could have been safer, recommend railing for the steps to the lake they were a little slippery for some.

Terrific
The entire experience was excellent. You're close to everything but far enough away. The water is clear and beautiful and the property was well maintained. The bunk house was excellent for the kids. There is an excellent golf course a few minutes away, a national park and a super convenient grocery store. I definitely recommend this place and I will stay there again.

Beautiful Place
Really enjoyed the tranquil nature of this cabin on the lake. Very peaceful and wonderful. Even though it doesn't have air conditioning it was very comfortable because of the ceiling fans. Cleanliness was outstanding and everything we needed was there. They even have a closet with board games in it. The location couldn't have been better for us either. The only problem we had was insufficient hot water. For us to take hot showers we needed to wait 20 minutes between them and they had to be fast. We managed but not ideal. Other than that I highly recommend this rental.

Relaxing vacation spot!
We stayed with our four children ranging in age from 2-12 years and this was a perfect spot. The house and bunk house had plenty of room and felt bright and airy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishware, kitchen utensils, pot/pans etc. The dock area was perfect for the kids since it was pretty shallow until you were past the dock area. We brought 2 kayaks and enjoyed padding around the top part of Lake Leenanau. The property is very close to town where there is a grocery store (NJ's), Dick's Pour House (best pizza ever!!!), a distillery to name a few places. We truly enjoyed a relaxing vacation!
