We made a mistake ordering standard rooms and it was disappointing that we were given a tiny room as the paying part. I guess that’s our fault. Location is perfect with free parking, the staff are amazingly friendly and the breakfast first class. The place needs a good clean and shine up. «A well equipped hotel. Very clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant was lovely with a good choice on the menu and all at very reasonable prices. «The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen.
