During my recent stay at Seven Clans Hotel, the fire alarm went off repeatedly between approximately midnight and 2:00 a.m. (around midnight, 1:00 a.m., 2:00 a.m., and several additional times in between). While I understand that alarms can malfunction or be triggered accidentally, what was most concerning was the lack of communication or direction from hotel staff during the situation.
At no point did anyone provide instructions such as asking guests to remain calm, exit the building, or letting us know when it was safe to return to our rooms. It appeared that staff were either unaware of how to handle the situation or had not been trained to communicate during a potential emergency.
Fire alarms understandably create anxiety for guests, and clear communication from staff is critical for both safety and reassurance. I was disappointed in how the situation was managed and would strongly encourage the hotel to review its emergency response procedures and ensure staff are properly trained to guide guests during situations like this.
