This modern Scandinavian barnhouse designed home features two bedrooms, one bathroom with shower, and a large open concept living, dining and kitchen space. Spacious and light, with soaring doors and windows, we wanted to let the outdoors in while creating a quiet, modern and well-appointed getaway.
The primary bedroom with king bed walks out onto the lakeside patio with large windows to take in the beauty of the hardwood forest. For guests who need a quiet work space, the secondary bedroom with queen size bed features a private work space.
Enjoy making meals in the large kitchen with plenty of space to prepare a great meal with all the needed utensils and cookware provided with dishwasher, range, microwave, air fryer, toaster, coffee maker, hot water kettle and cooking basics for preparing a meal.
A large, crushed rock patio space offers a fire pit area to relax with seating off the main bedroom to wake up with a cup of coffee in the morning or cocktail in the evening. Enjoy a quiet moment and relax in the large rainfall shower in the morning or after an adventurous day.
Follow the path down to the lake to the dock and enjoy Beauty Lake, a 55 acre natural environment lake with 26’ visibility and beautiful clear water. Enjoy this gorgeous, quiet lake from the bench seating on the dock, dive off the dock into the pristine waters, or take the canoe for a more extensive tour. In the evening, throw open the doors, listen to the resident loons call and make sure not to miss a show put on by the fireflies before you drift off to sleep.
Beauty Lake Retreat is located just 1.5 miles south of Highway 71. It is the nearest rental location to Itasca State Park. Just 25 miles north of Park Rapids, at the center of the Heartland Lakes area, it’s also just 30 miles south of Bemidji, MN.
Visit Itasca State Park and discover the headwaters of the Mississippi, hike and bike its extensive paved and groomed trails in the summer months, or snowshoe and cross country ski during the winter months.
