We chose Hotel La Choza Inn primarily for its location, and it absolutely delivered. It’s very close to downtown La Fortuna, with shops, restaurants, and sodas all within easy walking distance. One of our favorites, Soda Nima, was just around the corner. If you want to be in the heart of town without needing transportation, this spot is hard to beat.
The hotel is clearly a budget-friendly option, so amenities—both on-site and in the room—are minimal, but everything was well maintained. What really stood out was the housekeeping staff. Our room was serviced daily, kept extremely clean, and they even folded items we left out, which was more attention than we expected at this price point.
Security was also a big plus. The property uses wristbands and has a 24-hour attendant monitoring entries and exits, which made us feel very safe. Nights were generally quiet, and we had no issues with noise.
They do offer shuttle services to local destinations, which is a nice touch, though we had a rental car and didn’t need to use them.
Overall, this is a great value stay with an excellent location, cleanliness, and security. The only minor downside was inconsistent hot water in the shower—I had a couple of cold showers during our stay. I’m not sure if this is a regular issue or just a temporary one, but it’s worth mentioning.
