The Space:

This stone casita stands apart from the main house, built in the same volcanic-stone style that keeps the finca's buildings naturally cool. Inside, one bedroom holds two double beds, enough for four guests, with an en-suite bathroom just steps away. Unlike the main house, this casita has its own small kitchenette, so you can make coffee or a light meal without crossing the property. A private garden sits right outside, a quiet spot to read or unwind before heading out to explore. As throughout the finca, portable fans and a mosquito net keep things comfortable in place of air conditioning.



Guest Access:

You'll have full access to the entire cottage, as well as the property's shared amenities and common areas. On arrival, the finca's caretaker meets you in person at the stone entrance gate and hands over the keys directly, along with any recommendations for your stay.



The Neighborhood:

This casita sits on the same private finca as Casa Paz, in Carrizal, a quiet rural corner of La Cruz in Guanacaste, where mornings start with birdsong rather than traffic. A river runs nearby, good for a swim or a cast of the line, and the surrounding countryside invites long walks and birdwatching. Santa Rosa National Park is within easy reach for a day of hiking through tropical dry forest, and the coast isn't far either — Playa Rajada and Playa Rajadita, two of Guanacaste's most photogenic beaches, are about 15 to 20 minutes away by car. Guests looking for a longer outing can cross into Nicaragua, about 20 minutes past the border, for a beach day there.



Getting Around:

A car is the easiest way to get around this part of Guanacaste, since the finca sits along a countryside road outside of town. The stone entrance gate is about a 5-minute drive — roughly 3 km — from the town of La Cruz, where you'll find shops, sodas, and the nearest fuel station. From there, Playa Rajada and Playa Rajadita are 15 to 20 minutes further by car, and the Nicaraguan border is about 20 minutes away for those planning a beach day across the line. We recommend arranging a rental car or private transport, since public transport in this rural area is limited.

- Check-in begins at 3:00 PM local time.

- Checkout is at 11:00 AM local time.

- To ensure a smooth arrival for incoming guests, please honor the checkout time.

- Unauthorized late checkouts will incur an additional fee.

- The reservation must be booked by a legal adult; children are welcome to stay as part of the group.

- To meet legal and building security requirements, you may be asked to provide a government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact info, complete our verification portal and, in some cases, a background check. This information is collected only for screening/verification purposes and is not stored or used otherwise.
