The Wild Iris is more or less in the same great condition as when I used to work there 20 Years ago under Casey & Susan. I decided to stay there while visiting for the tulip festival. I was disappointed that there wasn't a receptionist seemingly at all during our stay from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. I checked myself in and out. The breakfast has also gone down in quality since the new management took over. For Easter breakfast there was nothing but intensely sweet foods. Sweet breads, sweet yogurt, sweet fruits, served with french toast. I think you should always have a savory option. They used to include scrambled eggs on the buffet. It was sad to see that the kitchen no longer does dinners, too. It used to be a really good place to eat.
All things considered, the stay was still excellent, and I would still highly recommend The Wild Iris / Heron as a top choice while staying in La Conner
