«Apart from the nice room, the relaxing private open air bath and the fabulous breakfast, it was the wonderful members of staff who made the whole experience so special that we were reluctant to leave. Dinner at Gen, especially regarding the very tasty first dishes, was quite good, too.The Oita course at the seafood restaurant, however, is apparently meant to cater to the tastes of overseas visitors; the portions are much too large to be truly enjoyable (esp. the toriten).»

«We were unaware on our reservation through Hotels.com that our reservation included breakfast and dinner. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and dinner was basically the same every night - not what I am looking for in a vacation. Still the dinner is very good. Having said that, all the food is very Japanese, so not what all travelers can do.
The hotel itself is gorgeous with amazing amenities. The staff lovely although not too comfortable with English which is fine of course. We particularly ...
