«Wonderful stay at the Barksdale House! We had a very quiet and restful stay with our small dog:). The room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable-we stayed in the standard king. The breakfast was included and made to order-grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, Belgium waffles-all delicious-we couldn’t believe it was no extra charge. Coffee, tea, water and snacks were available 24/7. «The room was booked through VRBO in Expedia and therefore I did not engage with staff other then when I tried to check in and they notified me it was through VRBO. VRBO host was good and provided clear directives once I contacted them. The hotel had many standard features such as indoor and outdoor pools, but the indoor pools "looked" dirty. Considering it is on the beach, this is the best feature. and all outdoor pools and lounge areas were clean... but I wish the had the food and rink kiosks ...

«Great stay for a weekend in Charleston! The room was relatively small and simple, but clean and comfortable--especially the large bed! The wall-less shower is a bit odd, as the entire floor gets wet and it's difficult to get your feet dry, but the water is hot and the pressure is good, so no real issues. «Exactly as described with a few pleasant surprises like wine and cheese cocktail hour and a delicious breakfast of sweet waffles with praline syrup, and savory sausage and potatoes out in the courtyard. Loved the Oglethorpe room plus Charles was very knowledgeable about the homes history - way better than google! Street parking (payment required 8am-5pm) was a bit tricky but staff was very helpful in guiding us! Savannah is definitely walkable from this home. Highly recommend!»

«This was our first stay at McMillan Inn. It was somewhat of an unplanned trip and just by chance we booked one night here. Jackpot!! We booked the Montgomery Room and it was like a storybook dream. The clawfoot tub, the king bed with fireplace, huge windows, and on and on. The property is magical. Sitting on the front porch swing at night with a glass of wine is worth the stay.
