Modern elegance meets tropical ease in this stunning, spacious (4BR/4.5BA) upscale Kukui'ula neighborhood. Close to Poipu's finest beaches, restaurants, and shopping! Unwind either poolside in a chaise lounger or hammock, at the heated pool's swim-up bar or under the swinging bed in the "Pai Pai".
The space
This stunning, new modern home in the exclusive Kukui’ula Private Resort Community will be the perfect place for you to relax and enjoy your Kaua’I vacation. Mehana Makai (Seaside Retreat) is less than a half mile to the closest white sand beach and only five minutes to world famous Poipu Beach Park.

Indulge yourself with a private heated pool, swim up bar, outdoor grill, beverage center, Sonos speakers for streaming music, and flat screen TV. The traditional Hawaiian Pai Pai (thatched poolside hut) is the perfect outdoor relaxation-station!

Experience indoor/outdoor living at its finest. Glass pocket doors roll away to bring the outside in- rolling hills of manicured, lush green landscape. The bright white interior, high ceilings, comfortable furnishings, and oh so soft bedding will refresh and renew like the cool breeze that flows through the home at the perfect natural temperature all year round. If you prefer more precise control over your environment, each room has its own A/C with separately controlled thermostats, allowing each guest to set their preferred temperature.

Mehana Makai is equipped with a wine fridge, lightning-fast Wi-Fi, and Sonos streaming to play music in all the rooms. The living room is perfect for watching sports during the day or movies at night with a flat-screen TV and 5.1 surround sound. Each bedroom has its own flat-screen TV as well. Rest easy knowing that Kukui’ula is a private community with 24/7 roving security for peace of mind.

Beach supplies of chairs, umbrellas, and an ice cooler are provided.
Private walking/biking path to nearby shops (Tommy Bahama, Sunglass Hut, Merriman’s Restaurant, The Table at Poipu + boutiques). Be sure to check out the farmers market at The Shops at Kukui'ula on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:340 and a Kanikapila (Hawaiian music jam session) every Friday from 6:30-8:30..

Reservations at Mehana Makai do not include resort access, which consists of the golf course, golf pro shop, clubhouse, fitness facilities, spa, spa retail shop, resort pools or the Farm.

NOTE: Your safety matters. The property features 4 exterior security cameras that actively record video when motion is detected. The cameras do not look into any interior spaces. Camera 1 is located at the front, facing the driveway from the west side. Camera 2 is located at the front, facing the driveway from the east side. Camera 3 is located on the back patio, facing the pool from the west side. Camera 4 is located on the back patio, facing the pool from the east side. The cameras will be actively recording video while guests are in residence.

This place is the epitome of my dream home. It’s spacious with plenty of room for our family of 4 and the family of 5 that came with us.Here were some of the highlights:1) Sonos speakers in every room and the backyard to play Hawaiian music.2) A great pool that you can control the temperature as well as the different colored lights at night. The pool has a bin with lots of floaties and even an inflatable volleyball net.3) We used both BBQ grills every night for our meals.4) the hammocks outside made for great outdoor movie nights.5) 6-8 beach chairs and 4-6 umbrellas to take to the beach and use.6) a really cool outdoor shower in the master bathroom. We never used an indoor shower once.Special thank you to Cindy and Angie who made our stay so magical. Hope to come back again in the future.

Phenomenal house in ideal location! Our family of 8 stayed in this stunning home for a week and highly recommend! We never wanted to leave the house. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area for gathering and Hanging by the pool. Cindy and the team were extremely helpful, responsive and thoughtful. 40th bday in Kauai

Got this place for my 40th bday with a group of friends. The place was a perfect place to hold a large group of adults. The layout of the home with rooms in each corner and common area in the middle was amazing. The host left a bday surprise for me which was very thoughtful. The pool and outdoor space was also a great place to hang. We cooked almost every night and the kitchen had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place!

We have a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool time and the setting was beautiful. Amazing house!!

We booked this house for my parents 70th birthday. It was the perfect week! This house had everything we needed for the week and was perfect for the 3 couples and 4 kids that stayed there. Kauai Spring Break

Everything about our stay was wonderful! The instructions and check in were clear and effortless. The property was very clean and inviting. We cooked every night and it was great that the house was stocked with basics like olive oil, honey, spices so that we didn't have to go buy large quantity that would go to waste. The view on the golf course was tremendous. It was in a location that was so simple and convenient to all the things we wanted to do! Our family of 7 Loved this property!

Fabulous House for Families

Our family of nine, ranging in ages 18 months to 70, enjoyed a week in this fabulous house as we explored Kauai. This layout with en-suite king bedrooms in 3 corners and a bunk room in the fourth surrounding the large great room and kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the pool and surrounding outdoor living area. The bed-swing was a great place for a nap by our teens and seniors. The home is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking appliances, utensils and dinnerware. When your 4 year old runs up to you and says “Nana, this house is awesome!” you know this home was perfect for our family of nine! The location was great. We had a wonderful vacation in Kauai with this fabulous home as our base. Mahalo!

Above and beyond

This home exceeded our expectations. The pool was the focal point for everyone and loved that the temp is kept warm and delightful even in January and the rain. The floor plan was great, the kids had their own suite in the bunk room and the other bedrooms were well appointed and comfortable. The outdoor shower was a special treat and we enjoyed dining on the patio every evening. Denise and AJ were helpful and quick to respond to our every question and need. Couldn’t recommend this property more highly.

Enjoyed our stay here over Christmas. Easy drive to the beach. Kids loved the pool and the outdoor shower. Wished the real outdoor grill had been working, changed our dinner plans. Family Holiday Trip

We wanted to take our adult children, their significant others and our granddaughter on a special trip. This home was absolutely wonderful, the layout with each room having its own bathroom, the fabulous outdoor sitting and dining options, and the heated pool made it perfect for our family. Paradise

We had an amazing time here celebrating my dad’s retirement with our family. It was a great setup so we each had our own bedroom with attached bathroom. The house has everything you need… pool towels, beach towels, beach chairs, all the kitchen appliances you need, pool toys, rafts… the list could go on. Since we had young kids, there was a pool gate that was put up. That was so nice to have! Location was great. We could go out to a beach and come back and enjoy the pool while kids could nap. Denise helped us with everything we needed for our stay. She was very nice, responsive and helpful! We can’t wait to go back!

Awesome family trip!

We had a wonderful stay here. There were 10 of us - six adults and four children (7, 5, 5, 2). The layout of the bedrooms and living space was perfect and the kids absolutely loved the bunk room! The real highlight of this home is the lanai and pool area. This is where we ate most of our meals and spent a bulk of our time when we were at home. It was so much fun and such a relaxing place to be. The home is extremely well stocked with kids toys and books, kitchen items, and pool/beach gear (towels, chairs, toys). It was great to have access to all of this stuff. Denise was a great communicator and house manager! The air conditioning was not working in the main living area (due to a curious gecko it seems!) and two bedrooms. Denise had folks come out to try to fix it and also gave us a portable unit to try. We appreciate the troubleshooting and for loaning us a shower chair! Thanks Cindy and Jim for sharing your home.

Beautiful House!

We would definitely recommend this house to rent! As soon as we made our reservation, the property manager contacted us and made sure all of our questions were answered. The property manager personally welcomed us at the house when we arrived and showed us around. The house was perfect! The house was well stocked and the kitchen had everything we needed. The patio was absolutely amazing!! We spent most of our time on the patio. The view is gorgeous and the heated pool was perfect to jump into after a day at the beach. The house was very clean. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, which was also well stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The beds were comfortable and were fitted with luxury sheets. The location of the house was perfect! The house is walking distance from shops and restaurants. We would rent this house again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Vacation home perfection! Exactly as promised, and more.

Our group of four adults and six children had the absolute pleasure of staying in this home for an unforgettable vacation in Kauai. The home is absolutely stunning and is exactly as promised, if not more. When we arrived late at night we actually drove by it, remarking how beautiful it was, but thinking it was another home. It's not uncommon that rentals look better in pictures than reality, but that's not the case here. The home was perfectly clean, and has everything you could ever want/need for a perfect vacation. Cindy is a kind and gracious host who very obviously cares about providing a great experience, as does Denise (the local contact). Both were very thorough and excellent at consistently communicating before and during the rental, by far the best we've experienced. There was a minor issue with the pool heater, but Cindy reached out to us well before we arrived to let us know about it and fill us on what she'd done to get parts flown in a repair done right away so that we'd be able to enjoy the pool. The home is perfect, the hosts are gracious and attentive. Can't say enough about the experience... we hope to be back again soon!

Beautiful Home! Great for a Family Getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. My family (6 adults and 2 children - ages 1 & 2) were wowed upon initial entrance. Our excitement continued as we explored the home and all of its amenities. Our personal favorite was the grill area with bar seating and lounge swing - The perfect place to have coffee in the morning or relax at sunset. Communication with Cindy prior to the trip was seamless and that continued during our stay. The property manager was also amazing; attentive in fielding any/all questions. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on Kauai!
