The Great Escape in Kings Beach Dog Friendly

Welcome to The Great Escape, your ultimate dog-friendly retreat nestled in the heart of Kings Beach. This charming vacation rental offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and pet-friendly amenities, ensuring a memorable getaway for you and your furry companion.

The living area will be your go-to winter hangout spot, with its nap-worthy couches, a gas fireplace for après ski lounging and a 55-inch flat-screen TV. Watch favorite shows via Apple TV. In summertime, the second-level deck is the place to be! Plush outdoor furniture and a gas grill face your wooded and serene Tahoe setting. Back inside, the kitchen features modern stainless appliances, including a gas range and a dishwasher. Take a seat at the center island and sip wine while the cook gets to work. A rustic eight-person table adjacent to the kitchen is the perfect place to enjoy dinner together!

The home features an open concept upper floor between the kitchen, dining room, and living room area with a walk out back deck. Also on the upper floor is the primary king ensuite with a sofa sleeper for additional guests. Downstairs includes a queen bedroom and two full beds in the third bedroom, laundry area, hall bathroom, and access to the two car garage.

Ski, beach, shopping and dining are ultra-convenient at this North Lake Tahoe chalet! You're a six-block walk to dog-friendly Kings Beach State Park - voted Tahoe's best beach - and an easy hop to the ski slopes. Try your slopes skills at nearby Northstar, Alpine Meadow, Palisades Tahoe, Diamond Peak, and Mount Rose! Kids will love the Tahoe Vista Regional Park (within walking/biking distance of the chalet) for its Frisbee Golf, tennis courts, ball fields, and winter snowmobile rentals.

Location:
Venture out to the local ski spots like Northstar (7 miles away) and Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows (15 miles away). On a summer day, you will be only a few minutes from beautiful lake beaches.

Parking:
Parking is available for 4 cars total. 2 in garage and 2 in driveway. All cars must park in the garage or on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

Other things to Note:
* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 8 adults.
* Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Use of outdoor furniture is not guranteed in the winter.
* Your safety matters. This property may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

Our family just had a great stay at this property. The house was the perfect size for my husband, teen son, 10 year old daughter, 2 year old son, dog and me. The open kitchen layout was ideal for us to hang out as a family while my husband and I cooked meals. The house is located within walking distance to the beach. The couch and arm chair in the family room are a bit old but plenty comfortable. We found all the beds comfortable too. The house was very clean. The kitchen supplies like the pots and pans could use a refresh but they got the job done. Overall we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the house very much.

It is a nice home and included most supplies one needed. It is located in a neighborhood with houses very close (and normal noises). It is walking distance to beach and town but just know it is a bit of a hike and slightly uphill to return. On the weekdays in August it was easy to park closer to beach and town rather than walk. There is no blender which one of my friends needed for her smoothies.

Beautiful, comfortable home

We loved our stay at The Great Escape. We did a lot of cooking and found everything we needed in the well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable for our family of 5. The back deck has nice, comfortable outdoor furniture with a dining table and grill. It was an easy walk to the beach and dinner/coffee. We would love to come back again.

Good space / could use some upkeep

Good space & great location. Generally as advertised. Could use some standard amenities restocked (laundry detergent, salt/pepper, toilet paper & trash bags). The 2x bar chairs at the kitchen island are so rickety none of us felt safe using them. They should def be replaced. The garbage disposal (insinkerator) in the kitchen sink kept tripping the main Circuit Breaker along w/the associated GFCI colocated with the switch. An electrician should come out.

Kings Beach Gem

We had a very good experience at this well-kept, clean, and conveniently located home in a quiet neighborhood. It was minutes from the restaurants in Kings Beach and Northstar. Home was very comfortable and spacious. One minor suggestion is it would have been nice to have some amenity items (shampoo. kleenex, lotion) for our stay. Other than that, we would definitely come again.

Nice getaway in North Tahoe

The property was clean and very accommodating. There is a bbq on the deck which was nice. Master bedroom was spacious. I like that there was a garage to park our vehicle. Instructions were entry to property was easy to follow. Bring your own games, puzzles, cards or books. The only night time entertainment was the TV, which was fine. Excellent Location

Upon a 4 pm arrival the house had not been fully cleaned and we did not get the house to ourselves until after 4:30. The house cleaner wasn’t going to wash the floors and I said yes she would. She also stated she didn’t do stairs due to fear! The fold out couch bed had dirt on the mattress and the housekeeper did not know if the sheets had been changed. The remainder of the house was clean. There are basic maintenance issues that were not addressed upon our arrival. The master shower door was off its track (the guide broken). The housekeeper had said maintenance was aware of the problem. She showed me the broken parts in the drawer. I called the manager because of how dangerous the glass door was along with a video And was told it would not be repaired until we checked out almost a week later and to use it with caution. To my surprise I came home alone on Thursday afternoon to a man in the drive who laughed and said he was a day early (mixed up his day)to repair the shower!! I was alone and said he needed to come back on Friday when we checked out in the morning. Had I come home later this man would have been in my house unknowingly and I had cash on the bedside table!!! Other issues in the house were a slow draining sink in the master, one light bulb working in garage and one door opener that worked. We chipped out half of the 3 inch ice on the drive because it was dangerous and cars could easily slide into the garage door. We always leave homes in wonderful shape with a load drying and another in the washer, dishes washed etc. The house is great, there just needs to be attention to detail at the price I was paying. The management said they would give me a small refund for my trouble. Getting ahold of management requires going through a que of questions before they answer. It is not a direct line to someone.

Exactly as pictured, great location

My family and I had a fantastic week at this cabin. It's clean, bright, modern, and cozy. The kitchen has everything you need, including good knives and pans. Safeway is a 3-minute drive and the lake is a 10 minute walk. Hiked out the door to the Stateline lookout one day. Excited to come back!

Great Tahoe spot

Great place to stay in North Tahoe. Clean house with lots of amenities. Kitchen was very well stocked. We had a mix of dining out as well as cooking at the cabin. The house is a 10 min walk from Kings Beach and any food/restaurants that are there. Plenty of couch space and blankets as well as a box of games. The neighborhood is quiet and nice for walkabouts.

Good house, good location.

It is very unusual to give good review for the very bad trip, but it is exactly this rare situation. We planned to stay for 3 days and do kayaking/paddleboarding at Tahoe - in reality we has canceled all activities and stayed just one night. House was very good, spacious and comfortable. Location was great. House was as clean as possible for dog friendly house - it was some dog hair on the stairs and in the master bedroom, but as a dog owner I do understand that it is almost impossible to remove it completely from a house where dogs stayed on a regular basis. Our problem was World Worsest Air (officially) exactly in a day when we came- sudden change of wind brought smoke from the wildfire and made it absolutely unbearable and unbreathable. But this was definitely not about property quality. 🙂

Great family-friendly Cabin

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of linens, kitchen supplies and the overall construction of the cabin. I would definitely recommend the property to friends and family. The only mild-negative was the junk-yard house on the corner of Deer and Cuthroat. We avoided that part of the street.

A little disappointed

Minor things that can be improved is one pillows were very uncomfortable which is not a huge thing, but we did lose sleep. The bigger issue was we drove 4 hours and got there a little early and was not able to check in until a hour later. Overall not a bad place. My wife and I enjoyed it.
