excellent
I found the Club House to be a charming, well placed, and efficiantly run establishment, good food and stylish bar/lounge. However, when making a reservation i would recommend asking for a room on the first floor as the stairs can be a problem if one is unable to negotiate them. (i was unaware of this potential problem when booking) but i will know better next time i use this Hotel.

Great location in the heart of Kilkenny and next to Kilkenny Castle. Restaurants, shops, and bars were all walkable and there's a bar/restaurant downstairs if you want to stay indoors. The staff were friendly/helpful and the check-in was painless. There is a large secure parking lot behind the property. Check-in early to guarantee yourself a parking spot; it filled up quickly during my stay. The room was spacious for a solo traveler and it was well-kempt. The layout and amenities in the room did feel outdated, but there were outlets and the bed was comfortable. For the price and location, it was a fine place for a one-night stay.

Great property with its own carpark. right next to city center but still very quiet. Note there is no lift (elevator) so you may have a few stairs to navigate. Staff will assist if needed. Mini Irish breakfast was great. Would recommend

Fun and unique property! The maze and quantity of stairs to get to our room was memorable and tiring. All the stairs made it a struggle for my mom. The breakfast was excellent!

The Club House Hotel is in the centre of Kilkenny. It is old and funky with winding hallway and staircases. It takes you back in time. Staff wonderful (allowed an early checkin), parking super convenient and overall a great location to explore Kilkenny. If you are looking for new and modern this is not the place for you. If you want an unique/fun experience check it out. We would stay there again.

Pass on this property nothing good. Cut up old buildings with outdated furniture thin walls steps up down long hallsways. Map to parking is a joke, terrible experience

Es ist ein alter Ansicht wunderschönes Hotel von 1791. Leider war das Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad war mit Stockflecken übersät. Frühstück war gut . Das Personal sehr freundlich und direkt hinter dem Hotel kann geparkt werden.

Great!
What a fantastic hotel! Exactly what we were looking for- right in the center of town, historic, and tons of charm. Staff were extremely pleasant and gave us so much information as to what to see and do. Bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast in the restaurant hit the spot. Did not avail of the bar- next time. We’ll definitely be recommending this hotel.

Hardest thing about this place if you're driving is locating the hotel carpark. Took quite a few goes and a fair bit of cursing to eventually locate it. It will be a decent lug if you have heavy bags as there is no lift. Breakfast was really good and the location is a short walk to Killarney Castle. Staff were friendly and if you're looking for an old pub with lots of character then this is your place.

The staff tried hard but the rooms in the newer section of the hotel were like cheap dorm rooms and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned well. There was hair on the sink when I arrived and the bathtub needed to be scrubbed.

This hotel is majorly in need of a complete overhaul. Room was tiny and smelled damp. Wallpaper coming off wall and generally tatty. Walls are paper thin and people next door may as well have been in my room i could hear them snoring that clearly. Absolutly not value for money.....waaay overproced for what it was. Any staff i spoke to were pleasant and helpful though.

Great hotel in Kilkenny for roadtrip
A great family run hotel with interesting history. The building and furnishings were a great talking point. Staff are friendly, efficient and engaging. Our room was comfortable and quiet, especially considering it’s central location. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The bar had great atmosphere, music and was very relaxed. Would love to stay again.

Historical surprise
Like history? You'll love this. Our tour guide dropped us off here and thoughy it looked a little sketchy. Really its just from another time......1797 to be exact. It was built as a hunting club and the decor, stained glass, portraits of former mbers, etc reflect that. Wonderful bar and dining room, great staff. Be prepared for a hike to your room involving up and down stairs, turns and other maze like challenges. The room is no Holiday Inn cookie cutter, but it is clean and adequate. Short walking distance to fun stuff.

The location to downtown and the free parking were the only real attributes for this property. Ridiculous walk to your dingy room with septic smell emanating from the drain in the bathroom. We were awakened at 0530 to a diesel garbage truck directly outside our window reving up the engine then driving away after two or three starts, only to come back a half hour later. Terrible noise. Avoid this property!
