We loved staying in Kihei. The beaches are great, the weather is fabulous and there are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance from the condo. The unit was as advertised in the pictures. It was clean upon arrival and the check in process was easy. There were a few downsides to the rental, one being that there were only two beach chairs which was not enough for our group of 4. There were two beach umbrellas which were both broken and need to be replaced. It would have been great to have enough chairs and umbrellas for four since the condo is advertised as two bedroom two bath (assumption that most people renting are coming with more than two people). The other downside was communication with the host was slow. It took 2 days to receive a response when sending a message through the VRBO app. Most rentals we have stayed at have a detailed book with information about the condo, however this also seemed to be lacking. There was a book that had information about Kihei and activities to do in the area but it would have been helpful to have information on garbage, recycling, things that should be done upon check out, etc. Other than that, the condo location was great. There were many beaches within walking distance that were great for swimming, snorkeling and watching the sunset. My recommendations for anyone coming to Maui is to rent a car because there is so much to see on the island! Also, if you require groceries, the best pricing we found was at Costco, Walmart and Target.
