Everything as promised
This place delivered everything they promised. Only thing I wished for was cleaning during the stay. We stayed 11 days and the apartment should have been cleaned during the stay. No AC in bedroom. This didn't bother us, but the AC in the sitting room was very loud. Good stuff: Big apartment, big lanai, parking and two bathrooms.

The property is very dated and somewhat dirty. The main air conditioning unit cannot cool the unit, and there is a warning not to set the temperature low or it will flood. There are numerous power strips plugged into other outlet splitters everywhere. The showerhead is less than 6' from the floor.

Overall we were very happy with the apartment. We did feel that the couch has seen better days and was very lumpy and uncomfortable to sit on. And the mattress in the bedroom wasn’t very comfortable at all. But those were minor and we enjoyed our stay.

Don’t stay here, staff doesn’t care about you or your family. I was given a very dirty room that smelled like mold, the water wouldn’t go down the sink or shower, towels were very linty there was lint in my ears, nose and where the sun don’t shine, after our first night me and my wife experienced bed bug bites and not a couple I’m talking about both arms, hands, legs and even butt cheeks smh avoid this place at all costs, Expedia couldn’t do anything about it and the hotel as well the effort was very minimal on both ends

The stay at Kamaoles Sands was wonderful. The location was perfect. The beach was across the street which was very convenient. The property had beautiful gardens. I would recommend this property.

Ac didn’t work at times!!! Arrived at the condon one hr early they didn’t let me check in early after a long fly !no sleep well! Tired ! Hot!! Called day before they say property is available for me to check in early!! But when I got there they said no!! I was very disappointed!! From desk bad services no smile !!

The condo was very nice and had everything you needed for our stay. The was only a full size and needs to be least a queen size. The road on the lanai was very noisy.

Perfect place to stay in Maui
This was a great place with up to date amenities and across the street from a great beach. The one bedroom, two bath condo was fully furnished and had everything you would need for a day at the beach. We stayed for a week and had all the comforts of home with a balcony and a beautiful view. I would definitely stay here again.

Aloha! Not sure who you are as you posted anonymously, but we no longer provide door codes in advance because of the COVID travel protocol for Hawaii. So yes, every single person that stays anywhere on Maui will have to call for their door code.

The property was really quite and the unit waa very cozy however, the beds need to be replaced (the make a lot of noise and are very uncomfortable) and not everything was clean. (Toilets especidically).

didn't like the dirty kitchen - had to clean all plates, pans, mugs, etc. before use. other than that, everything was pretty good. location is great! amenities - great! We stayed with the 14-month-old baby and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - laundry in the apartment, second bath, all linen/towels, etc. Perfect place for a family stay!

Much better deal than Lahaina. Unless you want a resort atmosphere with high rise clusters of hotels and close golf courses. The restaurants around Kihei are soso, but bring your Costco Card and get a better price for food and gas (more than 60c less per Gallon) and use the amenities of Kamaole Sands. Fully equipped kitchen, several public grill stations, pool, gated community, etc. The beachis just across the street, and not as crowded as in the resorts. Great budget location with a private building structure. Guenter

This place met all of our needs. Unit 2-205 Pros: great location, clean, pretty condo complex. Assigned parking was a good idea. Even though it said Garden View, we had a partial ocean view from the lanai which was a nice surprise. Well-equipped kitchen if you want to cook (we didn't.) Ice maker in the freezer was good. Lots of beach toys, chairs, umbrella, etc. The bed was comfortable. It had a washer/dryer (but we didn't even know about it until the housekeeper asked us to wash the towels before we left!) Beach right across the street and nice sandy beaches with good snorkeling within a few minutes drive. Cons: Bad A/C... there is only a wall unit air-conditioner in the living room behind the tv cabinet which does not cool any other rooms. The bedroom is in the very back of the unit so it was very hot at night. There was a ceiling fan and a very noisy plug in fan which both had to be on all night to keep the room from sweltering. On one humid day it was hard to sleep. If you need a/c, make sure you get a unit that has central air. Also, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor so we just kept a bathmat along the edge. Bath amenities were so-so. All in all, this is a good enough condo for a short stay. I would look for another unit with better amenities and better a/c next time. But Kamaole Sands is definitely a good spot to spend a few days in Maui.

Not as pictured, but a nice experience.
We enjoyed the pool, nicely manicured grounds, and gym. The staff were welcoming and it was an overall great experience. Unlike the pictures on this site, the suite we stayed in was old and a bit run down. We made a special request for a ground floor weeks in advance, as our toddler would have loved to be able to run around outside. Although the staff said they would try to accomodate our request, we were given a room on the 3rd floor. The kitchen had absolutely everything we could have wished for and it was really convenient to have a laundry machine in our suite. Great experience overall.

Kamaole sands resort has a great location, good amenities and friendly atmosphere for families. This particular condo is a 1-2 star condo. The room was not as clean as I would expect. I cleaned upon arrival. The blankets for the pullout were visibly dirty. The bathroom fan would not work and gained black mold daily. The condos next door were undergoing full renovation for the majority of our stay. When I called to express my concern, I was told I could either cancel( and essentially leave us stranded for 2 weeks or take as is). They did say they would try to move us if availability came up. We were never contacted again by the rental agency. So, we stayed, cleaned and lived with construction noise. Maui Home and Condo and Expedia were of no help. I assumed that using both would help in situations such as this. It doesn’t and I am disappointed in both. Book directly through the owners. The condo available through Expedia is dirty and poorly maintained.

Aloha! We apologize that you did not have a great stay. We do take pride in our condos, so I am disappointed to hear that you found it to be dirty. After the cleaners have cleaned the condo, we have our inspector go into the unit the day of the guests arrival so they can ensure it is clean and ready. If a guest calls about a cleanliness issue we will always have the cleaner return because it is very important to us that the condos are clean for our guests. We do not have any control over construction in units that are not in our rental program. If we had another unit to move you to we would, but the Kamaole Sands is not a hotel and we do not have every condo in our rental program, so there is not always availability to move a reservation. We apologize that this disrupted your stay, and we hope you will give Maui and the Kamaole Sands another try. We do rent our units out individually through our site, so you can choose the condo that works best for you. If you need assistance booking your next Maui getaway, we would be happy to assist you. Beautiful grounds and location. Only having one pool / hot tube was alittle challenging. Hot tub got very full with loud people. Several times had to sit in family hot tub. (Not as warm) Bar B Q area very nice. Nice rooms with bedroom removed from living room. Our second stay there. Was nice. Mia Tai Wednesdays were great. Got to meet people.

Stayed in Condo 7-306 and it was very nice, except for the cockroaches!!! Not just a few, but a lot. In the toaster, in the drawers, in the bathroom. Not cool. Told the condo about it, they sent a guy to put up a few traps, but nothing changed. Even emailed the owners after we were home, and they didn't compensate us or do anything. I won't stay here again.

we were mostly satisfied with the property however more notice should have been given to us about the bug spraying in the units. there was a note in the elevator saying to be out of the units from 9am to 2hours after the spray so we were out by 9 and when we arrived back @ around 2:30 the spraying had not been done. we had 3 people not feeling well and no where to go. the spraying was finally done around 3 and we still couldn't go in until 2 hours after it was sprayed. A more accurate time frame would have been appreciated as the people not feeling well could have stayed in the unit until the sprayers came. Not impressed.

The condo was amazing! My husband and I had a wonderful time out there. There were all sorts of amenities at the condo- from utensils to washing supplies! My one criticism is that there wasn't any first aid kit available for emergencies- please consider that may be. Apart from that, our room 6-307 was amazing and we felt right at home and enjoyed the service. Thank you for the hospitality and we will definitely bringing more people to this establishment! Mahalo!
